In kit-kat when you used usb-otg there was a notification that you had mounted a USB drive and when you were done touching the notification took you to settings -> storage and you were able to easily unmount the device.
In 5.0.* I have yet to find anything even close to a way to unmount. There is no notification, the USB device doesn't appear in settings -> storage. The only solution I have thus far is to shut down the device remove the USB then restart.
Surely there is a better way.

Indeed.Same issue on my Yureka phone that I recently upgraded to Lollipop. The USB Storage menu is just not shown at all.However, the files can be accessed fine. Have been searching all over the internet but unable to find solutions. You could try Stickmount if you have rooted device is what I have heard.
