Location: turns on every time I use tap to speak feature topic

This does not seem to be device specific. However, I noticed it on my Nexus 5 so thought I would ask here. Whenever I use the microphone for text the location finder turns on. Is this happening to anyone else? Is this normal? Anyone know of a way to turn this off aside from turning GPS completely off?
