[Q] how/where do you turn off autosync ? topic

I am trying to turn off all syncing on my 8013.
I am running Gnabo v8.

I am trying to do the following & am stuck on the 2nd step:
Turn off wifi. Turn off Sync
Use ES Explorer, enable Root Explorer
browse to /data/misc/wifi
rename wpa_supplicant.conf to wpa_supplicant.conf.old (mine was 0 Bytes)
Reboot Device
Enable Wifi
Rejoin wifi network (any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz with channels 36,40, 44, 48 - (channels 149,153, 157, 161 are not detected by gnabo)
Device now remembers wifi and passwords.
