I am enjoying purity and I also like n5x ROM but I'm not sure what one I like better. What are your thoughts on the two roms.?

Battery better with stock rom over LP? topic

Is it just me, or do others find the battery life in a stock-based kitkat rom much better than the lollipop roms? I've tried both on my VS985 and the battery with Eclipse G3 is just awesome. It's so much better than the LP roms I've tried like Illusion and crDroid, using basically the same apps/mail, etc. I mean the battery life is so different, there must be a reason because I've read of others who say the LP roms reduce the battery life.

Just a general question.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. Phone seems to work fine however battery life is shocking. Somedays I only get to lunch. Others 5pm.

I am running the stock rom - I9295XXUCNF1 with minimal applications and certainly no obvious background apps.

I have tried Greenify which seems to help, however certainly does not save the phone. Maybe get a few hours extra.

Whats the general consensus of Cyanogen Rom. Massive improvement or minor when it comes to battery life?

I really don't want to go down the line of crippling my "Smart" phone by turning off all the smart features. Cyanogen seems like my last option.

[GUIDE] ROM setup after flash for better work topic

This is how I setup my rom after flash, and device is working very well with 52 installed apps :)

1. Configure settings
-Go to wifi and disable scanning always on
-Open mobile network and chose 2G (use 3G only when you need it)
-Go to more and then to mobile broadcasts and disable all (when it enabled, consume RAM)
-configure sound,display, and interface... As you want :)
-go to accounts and disable sync which you don't need.
-go to About and taping on blablabla, you know to enable Developer options and rom performance.
-Go to developer options set all animations(you have three) to 0.5
-Performance??
-you don't need it, I will show you in next step. ;)

2. Install&Configure TricksterMod
-For cpu freq the best is to set device default, like on stock rom, don't forget to press Lock freq.

-Minfree setup
-8mb
-16mb
-21mb
-31mb
-38mb
-46mb

-Syscontrol setup
-Set swappiness to 60
-Set vm.pressure to 40

-Gpu freq
-That is your choice min freq will increase battery life, but some laggs is possible, max freq will drain battery faster, but there is less possibility to have lag.

-Install&Configure Greenify
-You already know :) Hibernate what you want expect Alarm clock, messahing apps, trickster mod, etc.
