[Q] question for developers topic

Hi guys.

I'm new to the forum and own a galaxy s5 plus g901f. I bought the phone new from eBay an unwanted upgrade. The phone was advertised as g900f so I was fairly happy until I discovered I was stuck on touchwiz as there is no support for this modal at all. I can't tell you how much I hate touchwiz and coming from nexus its made me miss aosp even more.

I've always rooted my devices but have little knowledge of making a custom rom. I wanted to ask the clued up folks, could I use a normal s5 aosp ROM and edit it to work on the s5 plus? Would it be quite simple as its similar with a few upgrades? Or would I need to start from scratch?

Any info would be great.

We need to develop software program to behave and act like a google tv box or android tv box. Emulator software to turn my PC into a Google TV to input to HD TV via usb! Just an idea ... but would be an awesome hack!

[Q] Why the Z2 has low support from developers on XDA topic

Hey people

i have Z2 since 2 month and i have a question.

Why the Z2 has low support from developers in XDA? I mean, for example, if we compared HTC One M8 development section to the Z2 development section, i believe M8 has maybe 5 times more support than Z2!.
same for S5 - G3 ,etc

The Z2 is considered one of the most powerful android smartphones and on the top of android devices, released from long time, has a twin which is "Z3", that should increase the Z2,Z3 wining points and it's cheap!

I Can't find a reason for that. it makes me worry about my phone if Sony stopped releasing updates to it

As we all know, varun will probably drop support for KK but scanning issue is still here... So dear Devs, please work on that its really anoying... Varun will probably be happy to help you with it... And you could maybe make it like all kernel flashable zip so no need for making the whole kernel... Dont really know that dev stuff .... Thanks to all of you, you guys are the best ... Without you are device would be lame :)

Idea for developers topic

Ok so ive spent several hours looking through apps that put a lock screen on other apps as opposed to having a main lock screen for the phone. Personally i love the idea, but problem is i havent found a single one able to put a lock screen on an app that has root access. So if someone could make one that can put a screen on rootapps to protect against others messing with them and bricking the phone that would be amazing. Also please include standard features such as photo/video locks etc. Would be nice to just plug my phone into my amp at a party and let others switch songs on pandora and not worry about what else theyre doing on it.

[JOB] Developers - Porting GestureKit to Android Wear topic

Dear guys,

My company Roamtouch has developed GestureKit SDK, a cross platform 2D gesture recognition tool with an online editor and plugin distribution system. Out current version works for cellphones and tablets. We believe the gesture input is pertinent and useful to operate a watch too.

I am looking for developers to work on porting our GestureKit plugin current version and create an Android Wear version in order to extend the API to wearable. In a second stage of development we need to adjust the plugin to work into a custom input type keyboard. To clarify, we are not aiming to develop an alphabet replacement of keys like Microsoft's Android Wear keyboard concept very well did, but on a command based customized and pre-defined gestures to trigger actions.

Why porting Wear? I believe there is a good opportunity to work with watches and gestures doing fast and efficient input. Screen size is tiny and you can perform them on the watch without having to look at it, making the interaction more productive. The proximity of the hand guarantees effective movements and commands. For these reasons, building a gesture solution for watches worth it.

If any developer is interested in the project please let me know.
