I'm in Love with this App. Unveil's Samsung's Deep AMOLED Secrets! topic

If you're in love with your Note 4, don't install the following app. But if you the type of person that wants to know everything, is curious, and doesn't mind fiddling around with the hardware on Note 4, you're welcome to install the following app, and share your feedback,

Install supercurio's Voodoo Screen Test Patterns App,
https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...patterns&hl=en

VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED

Bring the Brightness level down to minimum visible brightness (Preferably when viewing Near Grayscale); even in a well-lit room, or preferably dark setting, you will notice how Samsung managed to hide the Mura Effect on their latest iteration of AMOLED Panels. Some will see notice the predisposing lines, blobs, banding, and two-tone (or even more) gradients, which expresses the true organic nature of AMOLED Panels (Discussed as far back as the original Galaxy S phone).

Now beware, the Mura Effect is normal and does not make your screen or device defective.

Thanks to Samsung's preset for low Brightness levels implemented on the Galaxy S4, S5, Note3, and Note 4, and newer devices (can only be modified via third-party apps), its really hard to make out the Mura Effect on the newer models. Black color is Black, and Samsung's software mod forces no voltage to be fed to the AMOLED Panel when black is displayed, thus the pixels are literally turned off.

I've seen some users post pictures of the smearing (deep purple and pink tint) at "Normal" lower brightness levels (within Samsung's preset levels), which should be taken into account; I suggest them to exchange their devices or replace their displays until they get something better their eyes can be content with.

Every Note 4 and AMOLED device has these anomalies, however, the degree to which the anomalies are visible will vary from device to device. Some will be unable to make out the anomalies thanks to the nature of their displays (Warmer-toned or Cooler toned displays), and should be grateful and move on. If the anomalies are too obvious, I would suggest replace the screen, or live with it and accept AMOLED at its true best. :D

[q] magnetic case -- deep sleep / close problem !! topic

Hi fellas,

I bought that "POETIC SLIMLINE" smart case for my galaxy note 10.1 2014 editon tablet.
The thing is, case is perfect; design, elegant, light. It opens lock screen automaticly when i open case and, closes automaticly screen when i close it (magnetic featured)
If it stays a few hours closed with case, when i try to open the screen, it won't open.I press power button about 10 seconds, then it opens from the beginning (like restart screen).
I put it on charge and after these few hours, there is also NO big green battery charging icon (%..) keep seen. I dont understand the situation. If it closes because of the magnetic case issue, why it does not charge or not shown charging icon on screen.I read in somewhere about this magnetic case/closing problem and people say you have to turn off wifi when long close of case lid, but i dont want to close the wifi :/ Maybe there is a way about this problem, i hope...
Can anyone help me with this annoying issue about how to fix it please ? Thanks..

"Deep Sleep Battery Saver" .. a great way to save battery. topic

ok... to save even more battery life. Get "Deep Sleep battery saver"

I have a smartphone connected 100% of the time to get all my notifications.
I only use my Note8 for reading and play. There is no reason it needs to be getting notifications of emails, texts, news, social media.. unless I wake it up to use.

after I did the battery disconnect tip. it went from 1.5hrs WAKE time to more than 5 hrs.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2274678
but.. even when sleeping.. it would drain about 1-2% battery per hr sleeping.
android and system processes! and media updates.

so I found this app called: "Deep Sleep battery saver".
when the screen is off.. it turns everything off.. all connections.
allows NO updates.
you can set it up .. to wake up for 1 minute every hr.. or 2 hrs.. or 4 hrs. l selected "no waking up".
when the screen comes back on.. it lets the tablet get updates. normally there are none, because I have already taken care of them via the smartphone.

now the Note8 sleeps .. and only uses about 1% every 3 to 4 hrs.
I estimate about 10% per day lost if left alone sleeping.
I think if I left the tablet alone for a week.. it would still have a charge!

No deep sleep topic

All of the sudden my phone refuses to go into deep sleep, it stays at 300mhz according to cpu spy. Not even if I switch to airplane mode the deep sleep works. This has happened a few times in the last week. A reboot fixes it for a while. Do you think it's an app that is misbehaving? Has someone else seen the same thing on their phone?
