T-mobile Tether Nexus 6 topic

I had a hard time trying to get my tether to work through phone data instead of hotspot data but I finally was able to do it. I found information through the forum but nothing consolidating everything into one post. Some post came from the Flex group, some form Nexus 5 and other sites for info but I did the setup on my phone and it work!!

Must Have (these are the apps I used):
  1. You need to be rooted.

  2. SQLite Editor

  3. Smanager

Things to do:
  1. You will need to edit your APN

  2. Edit your build.prop

  3. Global settings

Editing your APN:
  1. Go to your Settings>MORE>Cellular Networks>Access Point Names

  2. Create a new APN that matches the Original T-Mobile GPRS

  3. Make the changes to match like the pictures attached.

  4. (Known changes made were adding dun to the APN type)

Editing your build.prop:
  1. open SManager

  2. go to System>build.prop

  3. open the file as text and add the following to bottom of the file

  4. net.tethering.noprovisioning=true

  5. Save the file

Editing the Global:
  1. Open SQLite Editor

  2. Click on the Files tab

  3. navigate to the following directory

  4. Data>data >com. Android. Provider. Setings.db>Global

  5. Look for the following entries. If the entry is not listed, add it to the file

  6. package_verifier_enable =0

  7. tether_dun_required =0

That should be it. Let me know if you have any questions.
