Reset knox counter (any samsung device) topic

Okay so I will try to explain it in detail...
This method is personally tested and always works for me. If it does not work for you make sure you followed every step correctly.

DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG (It will surely not if you follow everything correctly)

Now I will go step by step to what you need and how to set things up...

Remember this method will work best if you do a factory reset, I can not grantee it to work with data not wiped.

Things Required:
-Odin3.
-Stock Firmware for your device.
-A pc running windows.
-A usb cable.
-Custom recovery installed. (I recommend using philz touch it can be any cwm based).
-Some time.
-Brain.....

Procedure:
- First of all download Odin 3 to your pc (windows) - link here
- Now extract the zip file to a folder somewhere on your pc.
- Now your first part is done.

- Now the second part is downloading the stock firmware for your phone.
- Download it from here - Head here
- Now head over to the above link.
- Scroll a little down and you will find a box telling search device here.
- Now enter your device code or name over there and now select the firmware which you want to download as your stock firmware.
- Cross check your device model number and the firmware for the region you are downloading and also carrier sometimes.
- After you are done downloading it extract the zip file to your pc.
- Now you will get a tar.md5 file, Do not extract it.

- Now coming to your phone:
- Boot into your custom recovery (if you don't have one google it how to install cwm on your device).
- Once you boot into the recovery go to wipe and format options (maybe something different for you just find something related to wipe and formatting).
- Now wipe/format system.
- Wipe Data.
- Wipe cache.
- Wipe Dalvik Cache.
- Wipe preload (If your recovery has a option)
- Factory Reset the phone.
-After the wiping part is done find something like power options and select the option of reboot to download mode.
- If you cant find the download mode option select power off.
- If you can not find that option too simply hold the power button for some while (if it doesn't work pull the battery).
-To boot the phone in download mode manually:
- Turn off your phone (to make sure you can pull of the battery)
- Now put the phone is download mode (Vol Down + Power + Home) this is the common key combination to boot your phone in download mode.
- When you will boot into download mode it will ask you to Do you want to continue press this key to continue, Now press that key.
- You are now booted into your download mode.

-Now on your pc now open the folder where you extracted Odin zip file.
- Now run odin.exe as admin.
- Do not touch any of the options let it be as it is.
- now click on PDA option.
- It will ask you to select your file that you downloaded (tar.md5 -stock firmware).
- It may freeze for a while give it some time it will be okay.
- Now keeping your phone in download mode connect your phone with USB cable.
- Now the text box on the bottom left corner of odin should say added.
- This means your phone has been detected.
- If it doesnt show added make sure you have kies installed and is not running in background - in short you need the USB drivers - link here
- Now after everything is cleared and it shows added without changing any setting press START.
- It should now start the flashing process it will take about 10-15 mins. Do not interrupt it.
- After the flashing part is over the phone will reboot itself.
- The first boot can take upto 10 mins, if it takes more than 15 mins it meaans something is wrong so start the process again.
- After the boot you have the Knox Counter set to 0x0.
- You now have your warranty restored.

If you want a tutorial/guide on how to root phone without tripping knox (0x1), just post it in the comments and I will make a tutorial for that too.

Hope this helped. If it didn't work in the first try make sure you have wiped system, data, preload, cache, dalvik cache etc..

i hav tried to root by flashing custom recovery many times....But it had never been possible to root due to locked bootloader.
once i had done ota update before trying to root.
and now i want to update it to 4.4.4 from 4.3 but i cant to ota update
it says your device is modified ..
in download mode warrant bit is 1 ans system status custom..

Hello guys, I have a small probelm. I want to root my phone LG L9 Optimus II (D605) but I can't. I have tried all possible ways like towel, kingroot and all other stuff but It all says that I just can't do that. My USB debugging is on, also I can install programs that are not from google store so... Can someone help me? I was looking literally every possible method of rooting, even chineese programs, non of them worked. Android version is 4.4.2 KitKat. Can someone help me?

LGE Android MTP Device Driver Failing to Install topic

Hi,

I am trying to upgrade my D855 to the latest UK Open KDZ following the usual flash tool method but my phone never seems to get connected and i think its down to the LGE Android MTP Device Driver Failing to Install.

I upgraded using the same method only a few days ago with no issues so not sure whats happening.

Has anyone experienced this before or know of a workaround?

I dont really want to format the phone unless i have to and not sure it would even make a difference?

The device is new and was open for the very 1st time in Israel.

Apparently the phone can't be activate and be used is another carrier unless it was 1st activated in Sprint.

after installing CM12, its gapps and super SU..... everything work normal and good !!!!!!!!

by mistake i install this root(CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300.tar), and i get the CM12 stuck at logo mode, not only this, but also the custom recovery (Philz touch 6) i installed also is gone, i try to use the odin to restore the 4.3 firmware and install the CM12 again, but the odin gives me invalid binary error !!!!!!!!!!!!!

please guys any help, i am in big problem now, could i get the help please !!!!!!!

Soft-Bricked my device topic

Yesterday I tried to flash the "D6503_17.1.1.A.0.402_TELEFONICA-DE-LTE.ftf" via FlashTool 0.9.18.4 but unfortunaly my computer restarts during the flashing process. When I turn on my phone it ends in a bootloop.
Then I tried to flash the ftf again, but FlashTool stucks while flashing system.sin (DEBUG message says: "Sending part 1537 of 3516", then "Writing packet to phone"). Between part 217 and 218 there was an delay of 7 minutes but after part 1537 in stucks till the phone goes off. I tried different ftfs (stucks at different parts but always while flashing systemsin), tried different USB cables, different USB ports, uninstalled FlashTool and installed it again (likewise the USB drivers). Furthermore I tried to repair the phone via PC Companion but the tools stops while updating with error code 100 and message "Download of software not possible" but there is no problem with the internet connection. I turned of my anti-virus and firewall when using FlashTool or PC Companion but no luck...

The bootloader is locked and the phone was never rooted or unlocked or anything. Any ideas how I can get my phone working?

STEPS:-Install the latest apk (Of course)

Open any root explorer (es file explorer preferred )

and navigate to /data/data/com.whatsapp/shared_prefs/com.whatsapp_preferences.xml

Add these 2 lines anywhere in the file but within the <map></map> and save

<boolean name="call" value="true" /> <string name="call_allowed">all</string>

now force stop WhatsApp and open it again .... and you are done ;)

[Q] Telus HTC Desire 510 - problems removing software from device topic

Hey,

Wondering if somebody could help me out. I purchased a Telus HTC Desire 510. The bootloader has been unlocked, TWRP installed, SuperSU root access. I installed Titanium Backup. I uninstalled system software such as Twitter, Facebook, services etc, and have noticed that when I restart the phone, the software comes back.

Can someone explain to me why the O.S. is doing this? It's Android kitkat. I have noticed in any file manager that it defaults to and emulated folder etc //sdcard/emulated. Also thinking it might have something to do with HTC software pre-installed //dumby proof backup software? In the past on any Android device, after unlocking and rooting I've never had this problem. Starting to fumble me...

How to create ROM for a particular device topic

Hello Everyone,
I am Ireen. Last few weeks I have been trying to build a custom ROM and I finally did it. But most important and confusing thing is how I flash this ROM to my device. I am not using popular device like HTC or Samsung I am using a Chinese tablet (MTK). So from this step what I have to do to flash this ROM to my device. On some tutorial they suggest to download kernel source code from HTC or Samsung website and add it to the ROM. If I manage kernel source code for this device then how I marge it with my ROM and prepare my ROM perfect for flashing into my device.?
I just need some guide lines. Any tutorial or thread link will help.
