Reset knox counter (any samsung device) topic

Okay so I will try to explain it in detail...
This method is personally tested and always works for me. If it does not work for you make sure you followed every step correctly.

DISCLAIMER: I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG (It will surely not if you follow everything correctly)

Now I will go step by step to what you need and how to set things up...

Remember this method will work best if you do a factory reset, I can not grantee it to work with data not wiped.

Things Required:
-Odin3.
-Stock Firmware for your device.
-A pc running windows.
-A usb cable.
-Custom recovery installed. (I recommend using philz touch it can be any cwm based).
-Some time.
-Brain.....

Procedure:
- First of all download Odin 3 to your pc (windows) - link here
- Now extract the zip file to a folder somewhere on your pc.
- Now your first part is done.

- Now the second part is downloading the stock firmware for your phone.
- Download it from here - Head here
- Now head over to the above link.
- Scroll a little down and you will find a box telling search device here.
- Now enter your device code or name over there and now select the firmware which you want to download as your stock firmware.
- Cross check your device model number and the firmware for the region you are downloading and also carrier sometimes.
- After you are done downloading it extract the zip file to your pc.
- Now you will get a tar.md5 file, Do not extract it.

- Now coming to your phone:
- Boot into your custom recovery (if you don't have one google it how to install cwm on your device).
- Once you boot into the recovery go to wipe and format options (maybe something different for you just find something related to wipe and formatting).
- Now wipe/format system.
- Wipe Data.
- Wipe cache.
- Wipe Dalvik Cache.
- Wipe preload (If your recovery has a option)
- Factory Reset the phone.
-After the wiping part is done find something like power options and select the option of reboot to download mode.
- If you cant find the download mode option select power off.
- If you can not find that option too simply hold the power button for some while (if it doesn't work pull the battery).
-To boot the phone in download mode manually:
- Turn off your phone (to make sure you can pull of the battery)
- Now put the phone is download mode (Vol Down + Power + Home) this is the common key combination to boot your phone in download mode.
- When you will boot into download mode it will ask you to Do you want to continue press this key to continue, Now press that key.
- You are now booted into your download mode.

-Now on your pc now open the folder where you extracted Odin zip file.
- Now run odin.exe as admin.
- Do not touch any of the options let it be as it is.
- now click on PDA option.
- It will ask you to select your file that you downloaded (tar.md5 -stock firmware).
- It may freeze for a while give it some time it will be okay.
- Now keeping your phone in download mode connect your phone with USB cable.
- Now the text box on the bottom left corner of odin should say added.
- This means your phone has been detected.
- If it doesnt show added make sure you have kies installed and is not running in background - in short you need the USB drivers - link here
- Now after everything is cleared and it shows added without changing any setting press START.
- It should now start the flashing process it will take about 10-15 mins. Do not interrupt it.
- After the flashing part is over the phone will reboot itself.
- The first boot can take upto 10 mins, if it takes more than 15 mins it meaans something is wrong so start the process again.
- After the boot you have the Knox Counter set to 0x0.
- You now have your warranty restored.

If you want a tutorial/guide on how to root phone without tripping knox (0x1), just post it in the comments and I will make a tutorial for that too.

Hope this helped. If it didn't work in the first try make sure you have wiped system, data, preload, cache, dalvik cache etc..

I recently bought this tablet, and stupidly, upgraded to Lollipop right away. How do I revert this tablet back to it's original state?

I have downloaded a Kit-Kat image from Nvidia's website but I can't seem to get anything from the instructions to work. It appears as though my bootloader is locked, but the instructions on their website don't work for me.

so for the past month ever since i went from stock to a custom rom my Google backup has not been backing up my phone. and since i got to do clean flash several times it is really annoying to be setting up my phone to my liking. is there a way in fixing this issue. i always had backup and restore turned on in the settings.:crying:

hard reset question about apps on sd card topic

my phone is runnign sluggish,. its due a hard reset, i have a lot of apps stored on thesd card, but i seem to recall last time i hard reset the phone i had to reinstall the apps from the play store...
is this required? or can i just copy the app shortcut back from the sd card to the phone?
if i do need to reinstall then i move the data over to the sd card again am i not just doubling up files on the sd card?
its stock rom, so i cant use all those titanium backup apps and stuff as far as i know..

Xolo TW800 factory reset via stock recovery topic

I have accidentally got my Xolo Play tab 7.0 TW800 locked. My nephew tried various pattern combinations and landed up locking it. Now it says enter gmail details to unlock it. I tried entering the registered gmail address but it fails as I cannot switch the Wi-Fi on. How can I enter stock recovery and do a factory reset? Or any other way. The tab is not in warranty. Hey there, I have an interesting problem with my nexus 5.

Since the update to 5.0 (sideload) the phone was laggy and not responding well.
I waited for the 5.0.1 OTA, hoping that it would solve the problem. It got better, but the performance still didn't feel right.

I decided to do a factory reset today, which seems to have failed somehow...

I chose the option through the settings menu, the phone powered off and the erase android came up.
The erase was on for approx 10 minutes, then the red triangle android came up. While I was checking for solutions on google, the phone went back to erase and is stuck there now since approx 30 minutes - not sure if I missed a repetition of the above in between.

I couldn't find anything matching in the search - please let me know if anyone has seen it before and/or knows a solution.

I have a rooted I747 with an android 4.3 rom. The LCD is broken and I am looking to sell it as is. I am wondering if it is possible to factory reset the device with a PC (possibly with kies, odin, or adb). I have seen a kies tutorial but it bricks devices running android 4.3. Any input would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Sorry that my first post is asking for help. I've always googled any issues I have with my phone, and this forum is often the one that comes up with the goods, so I thought I'd post here.

Issue:
My phone has been having some problems for a while (lagging, freezing, occasionally restarting, System UIDs inconsistent), so finally I backed up the important stuff, and did a factory reset yesterday. After the reset, the phone seemed fine again for the day. Back to being quick, no error messages, and I restored the data I'd backed up.

This morning, the phone seemed fine, then suddenly it restarted itself, and seemed to be stuck on the boot logo, so I popped the battery out, back in and turned it on. It's done another factory reset on itself, had to log back into Samsung/Google accounts, set up WiFi etc, all data gone again.

Right now my phone is almost useless because my WiFi can't be activated or set in the advanced settings. The backup rom (Orange) is really not efficient. I need to reset it totally to bringing it to my vendor for a repair assistance.

Impossible to use Fastboot ADB because of the USB default.

I need my phone to be reseted like the first day, without red-flag, tampered and unlocked ;)

Under android system, I can only access the data through bluetooth (very slow) and 3G datas.
Under the bootloader, I can only access the data that I have been copied in the internal SD partition.

Please, what should I do now?

Cube T9 - No adb commands after reset topic

I don't know where to start so I'll just begin...

My Cube T9 is using the stock rom with the latest ota update, rooted with busybox and xposed. ( and I didn't backup anything :crying: )

I started having issues with low internal space so I installed link2sd pro. That seemed to work well enough but now I've noticed a few icons missing from my desktop and nav bar after rebooting. I figured this would probably would work better if I reset everything and stated fresh so I did. After reboot, I couldn't connect to the internet because of the dreaded nvram error which I found accompanying a missing imei and serial number. (can you say "schlep-rock"?)

Since I couldn't download from the play store, I tried pushing some files over to the /data/local/tmp and all was fine. I went to use chmod, ls and dir but they were not found.

Now, I just wanted to get it back to functional. Where do I begin?

[Q] PIN Unlock and Region reset GT-I9195 topic

Hi,
My GT-I9195 sourced from Europe as an airline rewards item. Fortunately, was travelling to UK and took advantage of advice from documentation and confirmed with Samsung in UK that as long as phone used in Europe for 5 mins of calls, it would accept new SIM from provider in Australia without problem ie it would have unlocked itself from Europe zone. (on return to Australia, phone still receiving messages from Vodaphone in UK with original 1 month only expired SIM.) Before getting and installing new SIM, I set a PIN, didn't use phone for a month and committed worst sin of forgetting PIN. So I have two options I think.
1) Do factory reset and then cope with region reset since I am assuming phone will revert to Europe only. Not worried about losing data.
2) Clear PIN using one of methods available on XDA such as http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2397797 but this will work with debug mode only. In order to set debug mode need access to settings which is not possible with phone PIN locked. So catch 22.
Would appreciate any advice with this. Would value simplest solution since although I am PC competent, phones are a whole new area for me. Thanks in advance.
