I'm currently driving a T-Mobile SGS2. Obviously, I don't do cutting-edge phones :) I'm seeing the Note II (used) on ebay for ~ 0-0 which is in my price range. So, should I pull the trigger? What are the minuses for this device?

Case idea, who should I contact? topic
Seems a simple idea, really. I want a case that has a battery built-in AND OTG support with an SD card slot in it. Yes, the phone would be bigger, but I could have my expanded storage without hanging a dongle out the bottom of my phone. I would LOVE to see ZeroLemon do something, but they don't seem to be interested

[Q] Should I root my note 4? topic
I know it's probably been asked a thousand times, and it's probably a matter of opinion, but I want some input before rooting my note 4. I have rooted every android device I have ever owned, in most cases before they even got warm, but for some reason I'm hesitant With this one, I love it as it is, and I mostly like touchwiz but I put up with its limitations because I like the few perks that the stock launcher provides over an alternative launcher, I really only want to root just for Xposed mods and various root applications, I can't see myself flashing a custom rom anytime soon, unless someone works out how to implement all of the Samsung hardware features. My main concern at the moment I suppose is warranty and OTA update to Lollipop (if that ever happens), I know you can just get the stock rom/image when it's available but I would prefer OTA, at least for the first upgrade to lollipop. can you root but still keep the stock recovery? Can you root without tripping knox? Is there some sort of fuse like there was in the S4 (and I presume the S5,never had one), is it hard to un root?, any other downsides to rooting the note 4?
[Q] Need help -- Should I Root or OTA update first? topic
hello everyone,
I have a Galaxy S4 sgh-i1337M with Fido in CAanda. I would like to Root and enjoy my phone as it should be.
Before doing anything, I checked for software update on the phone in settings, and there is one that is 100.01 MB. Looking up that size, I think it has something to do with this number (my modem version??):
I337MUMUFNK1 -- which comes up when I search google for an update of that size which is OTA and for my phone.
Samsung and Fido and Google say to call the 'others' as they do not know what this update is for. WTF! Nobody knows what the update is for??
------------------------------------------
My phone info:
I am on 4.4.2
SGH-I337M locked to Fido in Canada
BASEBAND: I337MVLUFNE1
KERNEL VERSION: 3.4.0-1529758
DPI@SWDD5823 #1
BUILD: KOT49H.I337MVLUFNE1
------------------------------------------
The baseband seems to be what the update will modify??? (ignore this if its dumb)
MY QUESTION:
Should I root the way it is now and disregard the latest update?
Should I update the phone now, as I won't be able to receive OTA updates in the future and then Root? (I know I can always do whatever I want after rooting.....
it would still make sense to do this update now, then root as its just easier that way).
Thank you in advance to everyone who knows the answer to this and responds!

Finger input is off, S-pen is working as it should topic
Hi,
Ever since the latest update (today, as i own the phone since today) the finger input is off. The left upper corner is 1:1. But the more you go to the right lower corner, the input that is registered, is off.
It is like there is some kind of acceleration going on. Because of this, typing, pressing icons and even swiping isn't possible in a normal manner. Again, with the S-pen everything is working properly.
I've tried changing the screen density and the resolution (after rooting), but without succes.
Is there a way to re-allign the input, or something??
Any help is appriciated!!

New Users should try cm11 m12! topic
I'm a recent purchaser of the tabpro 8.4, thanks to Best Buy selling them so cheap. I sold my Nexus 7 (2012) to buy it. I Hated the stock touchwiz software but loved the hardware. First rooted and flashed an early cm12 build. It was buggy.! I've been flashing each new cm12 nightly since then. Several nagging issues remain. They are mainly cosmetic, but irksome. I flashed cm11 m12 today, and am a very happy camper. I recommend PA Stock Gapps to flash with it. So many of google's apps have been updated, especially the Google Now Launcher, that you really get a heaping helping of material design, without even needing lollipop! I'm not having any issues with cm11. I would recommend also downloading the new google exchange services apk, so that you can use gmail to check your exchange mail like you can in lollipop.
I'll be using this rom until I get word that cm12 is a bit more stable.

Help me, should I return my G3 for Z3v? topic
My 2.5 yo Galaxy S3 dropped dead, broken screen. Went into best buy and got G3.
Initially, I liked everything. I thought it will be bulky considering the size, but surprisingly slim and light.
First 2 days, battery drain prob. I disabled the touch sound which was probably causing wakelocks.
Then, still the battery kind of was disappointing but I was alright with it.
I loaded eclipse rom and it felt great overall. However, I didn't know that G3 had some lag issues.
I went ahead and saw Z3v in the store. Very snappy with the same processor compared to G3.
So I keep thinking, should I return G3(which was free with contract) or get a Z3v (0 extra money).
The positive side of using G3 : Unlocked bootloader, tons of ROMS, customizations, tweaks. Free with contract
Negative side: Still laggy on verizon models, battery disappointment
Positive side of using Z3v: Snippier phone, I like the design of the phone
Negative side: Z3v is essentially a Z2. However heavier than Z2 or Z3, so little bit bulkier. Locked bootloader, no root, tons of Verizon bloatware. It is a minority phone so that it won't get much attention and there is a chance that it will never be rootable. 0 extra money
Help me choose please?

[Q] [fast help needed] Qualcomm VS. Intel Atom - which one should I buy? topic
Hi there,
I have to decide between the TF303CL (Intel Atom Z3745) and the TF303K (Qualcomm 8064), while the latter would cost me 100 less.
I really look forward for your replies, as I have to decide pretty fast :silly:

Note 10.1 vs Nexus 10 (which should I get) topic
So, I'll get to the point. Is the Note 10.1 stilla viable, decently fast, tablet? I really want to get the Nexus 10 for some sort of future proofing when it comes to Android updates. However, I have a Note 4, and know that I would definitely use the note taking capabilities of the Note 10.1.
So, is the Note 10.1 fairly easy to root and install custom roms?
Is the speed still up to par for modern computing?
Has anyone played around with both the N10 and Note 10.1, and have a current opinion about them.

[Q] SuperSU asks me a question about binaries, what should I choose ? topic
Hi guys, I've got a Samsung SIII MINI GT-I8190N and I've just rooted it, I used
Odin 3.07 and
"recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.2.7-golden.tar.md5" and
"UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip" that I downloaded here http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/
I followed this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...09&postcount=1
However, after it asked me to reboot, there was another question, that the author of the tutorial didn't anticipate, in fact it asked me:
"ROM may flash stock recovery on boot."
I could either choose Yes or No, if I chose yes it would flash, if I chose No it wouldn't flash.
Eventually I chose yes, the phone was rebooted, I checked with "Root checker" and the phone is rooted.
Then I noticed that SuperSU was installed, I clicked on it, and I got asked this question:
"If you have a custom recovery that can be used to(try to) install the SU binary. This is recomended for HTC devices. How would you like to install the SU binary ?"
I can either choose "Normal" or ""TWRP/CWM"
I have no idea what to do, I'm a newbie, please if someone could give me an advice I'd really appreciate it.
I think I already took a great gamble when I clicked on yes when I got asked to flash, however I had previously browsed on this forum and some guy said that if you clicked on yes it would flash the CWM recovery, instead if you clicked on NO it would keep the samsung default recovery.

Should we have hopes for a custom rom for the Mate 7 topic
Its still kind of early to loose hope I guess, but since everything is opensource with this phone (downloadable on Huawei's site), should we be hoping for a custom rom for the Mate 7? I'm scared it won't get popular enough for a developer to make one, even though it is an amazing phone.

[Q] OTA LRX21T.G900FXXU1BOA3 5.0 update - should it be using 12gb of storage? topic
Hi there,
I have a UK Samsung Galaxy S5 on EE, unrooted, and the other night I installed lolipop 5.0 (LRX21T.G900FXXU1BOA3) OTA (not through Kies)
The install ran smoothly, there was a fairly big download and after a reboot another smaller download and everything appears to be now working nicely.
My question is regarding the onboard storage (16gb). When I look at Storage Usage It is now telling me I have 13.47gb in use on the Device Storage, most of this is classed as 'Others' now is this Lolipop? I'm pretty sure under KitKat about 8gb was used but I wasn't expecting to lose another 4-5gb.
Is this normal? Can the space be recovered?
As I have said, this is a un-rooted phone, and this is the stock Samsung update.
Model - SM-G900F
Android Version - 5.0
Baseband Version - G900FXXU1BOA3

should I update? topic
I just ordered the shield tablet from amazon, it should be here in a few days, and I am wondering if I should let the tablet update to lollipop or stay on kit kat. I have read some problems with lollipop like memory leakage and battery issues.
Do the benefits of Lollipop out weigh the glitches?
I haven't used xposed on my current tablet. I know that in lollipop you can't use xposed (I plan to root)

Update from V10a - should I? topic
Hi all
I'm new to G3 phones, and I just discovered that the firmware of my LG G3 is V10a, which is, I think, the first one. Right now, they say version V20f is out...
I have been invited to do OTA updates, but... my G3 has absolutely no problem, everything works 100%, I have no special issue with this magnificent machine. :good:
So, i dunno, should I update? I mean, what's the point to update a machine which is perfect right now (for me). I'm happy with V10a firmware, so is it worth it to update?
