[Q] Mount Internal Storage in Recovery? topic

Hey guys, I am running Philz Touch Recovery on my i9507 and was wondering if there was a way to mount internal storage while inside recovery? I tried going to the Mounts and Storage menu but the only option there is for External SD Card and I don't have an microSD card in my device, only using the internal storage.

I would like to swap the default storage to the SD card. I have T800 and find the 16gb not enough for all my staff.
Is there any way to swap the default storage? I have found link2sd but I never used it and maybe there is a better solution. I am rooted and running Ironrom .

Unable to mount /data and storage topic

I'm having a bit of an issue with my SM-P900. I rooted using Odin 3.9, installed TWRP 2.7, and then tried to install custom rom. The custom room (Link Here) But, I noticed something a bit strange while it was installing, it was unable to mount cache, data, etc, but it showed to be successful so I didn't think anything of it. I tried to boot into it, got past the initial Samsung screen, but then afterwards it was just black. I reflashed TWRP 2.7 but nothing happened. I also tried reflashing a stock rom I found using Odin 3.9 which let my device go past the initial samsung screen and into the second one(the one with the sound) but it just hung there. I booted back into TWRP and found that now only data and storage are unable to mount.

I've been searching all day, and I'm stuck. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I have been tweaking around with my phone and it has finally given in. I can access CWM Recovery Mode but cannot access internal storage via a computer. Mounting USB Storage in Recovery Mode also does not work. I am not quite sure if my Internal Memory is corrupted or if I should just format my internal memory and try to mount it again.

Suggestions?

Probably an easy fix, but I am at a loss. I flashed Paranoid Android 5.0, re-rooted with chainfire, got su and busybox all up to date and started rebuilding my tablet. When I open gallery it says "no external storage available" then closes, and I can't download anything from the internet because all my apps are trying to use the /storage/emulated/0/..... File path for the emulated external SD, which I still don't understand why we need that, however play store downloads apps just fine. But I guess the new PA 5.0 moved my old emulated SD files to internal storage, and I can't point any apps to that directory, and the new emulated SD folder just doesn't work.

Anyone know what's going on here?

I Can't Apply Update From External Storage topic

So, yeah. I can't apply update from external storage. It has no content. I tried formatting my SD Card and performed a factory reset. I can't flash anything from it. My baseband version is I8160XXMG2.

Actually, when I choose "apply update from external storage" there's some weird combination of letters, numbers, and symbols in it. I can't seem to remove it. Please help me ASAP. I want to install Cyanogenmod 10.2

Sorry for such an elementary question. How can i tell what is taking up all of my internal memory. When i use es file explorer and analyze the internal storage. Twrp is the biggest file @ 5 gigs next is android @ 1 gig. Ive got no storage space left and i dont know what to delete.

Using a Sprint Galaxy s5 with a custom rom. I try to download any apk file and get the infamous not enough space (when there is) manage app message. Tried to delete odex from root explorer can't find it in suggest area as well as search different for any odex file and since I can't download apk file can't download lucky patcher to fix the problem ither so that leaves me in quite the predicament. Any suggestions can someone please help. Thanks in advance?

Storage Problem topic

Hi;
Before a while, i had installed the MultiRom (when using 4.4.4). But i didn't liked it and uninstalled. For getting OTA, i return to stock recovery, installed stock RUU and got OTA successfully. I installed Team Recovery and MaximusHD 11. When i had checked the intertal storage in Recovery mode, it shows 16 GB internal. But when i check from ES file explorer or any application about storage, all of them shows 10.58GB internal storage.. Is it expected or did MultiRom created any partition that i can't see...

Missing storage space topic

So I'm using converted to GPE 16GB HCT One.
I have 32GB SD card and where possible apps load data to the SD (Google Music, Voice recorder etc.)

If you look at the picture I have 8GB available of internal storage but the graph shows less than 40% free (this does not add up)
Also why apps take internal storage if everything is cached to SD
Last time I had to factory reset because I have run out of storage for some reason and despite removing 3GB i was still low on storage.

Anyone can help?

Can I make a back up of 5.01, go back to 4.4.4 via TWRP restore, run titnaium > save in external, and TWRP restore back to 5.01 and restore apps via Titanium

Any other adv?

What is storage footprint of Win 10 clean install? topic

As per the title, I'd like to know the install size of Win10 tech preview 2, and if it is any different when installing on a smallish (32GB) space than versus a larger HDD.

How many partitions does Win10 create, and what are their sizes?

Basically, I'm trying to ascertain if Win 10 is any more space optimized over Win 8.1. Thanks.

first post, I apologize if this has been covered in other threads/forums but I searched around and haven't found the right answer. So here's a little background:

I have an SM-N900 which I use for work and fun. I've been on stock A 4.4.2 and liked it a lot. Both the UI and the performance. I have now acquired a 64 gB microSD, which works great with windows on USB 3.0, but unfortunately I need USM (USB mass storage) functionality as I retired my previous device fulfilling this role. MTP is of NO use to me. And since this is a work phone I need it to be absolutely stable and reliable.

To the point of this post, I'll update this post after a discussion on how to achieve USM functionality on the SD card on the Note 3 (at least on the SM-N900) for others in the same predicament.

Things I have tried so far:

Options at this point:
- Run a custom ROM: I've never gone this router before. As mentioned I need stability and maximum compatibility. I understand there a few ROMs out there that provide USM but I'm a little green on this front and I don't want to go about trying out different ones on a wild goose chase.
- Flash Lollipop and hope for the best: Pros and cons to this one. It is my understanding that Lollipop has brought back the possibility for apps to access SD storage. If that's true, I imagine it won't be long for some of you geniusis to script a solution to the problem. However, I really dislike the new UI. So much so that I've flashed back kitkat to try and find the solution under that OS.
- Give up. Keep stock kitkat which I really like and buy some old device that runs Gingerbread or Jellybean. <-- Not what I had in mind.

Please Note: I can run and edit some scripts but I have zero knowledge of custom loaders, linux, ext4, directories that start with a "" or a "." etc. So while I encourage a technical discussion if necessary, please bear in mind that some foreigners will be reading along so write in english too. ;)

[Q] Cant get VZW GS4 into USB Mass Storage mode topic

I have a weird situation - my verizon galaxy S4 - when in Download mode & my PC is in Odin 3.09, is recognized- but when I attach the same cable when I'm in every day running on the HyperDrive 10.2 ROM, my S4 does not go into USB mode so I can choose MTP...

more weird is that when I plug my S4 into the same laptop where I just successfully flashed the Odin tar to recover from a careless mistake & it worked just fine i.e. the Odin tar restore did restore it; but when not in Download mode for Odin & I plug in the original cable (I do try diff ports...) the device just won't go into USB Mass Storage mode; & it is a fairly new cable & I tried the BlackHat emergency MicroSD->USB charging cable; all to no avail. :(

I do have USB debugging checked off & DM Mode is disabled (##DM MODE# dialed fm the native Phone app, pressing numbers corresponding to those letters on the dialpad), all based on what I found in searches on other threads.....

even more weird, when I put an OTG (On The Go) USB->MicroSD dongle, my S4 goes into Mass Storage mode like a champ... with the USB 'trident' icon in the notification bar that allows me to choose MTP after I tap on it there.... & PDAnetPC software also sees the S4 & when I tap on Windows "Safely remove hardware & Eject media" 'Samsung Android' is there to be disabled...????!!!!

Please help, I need to transfer files fm my laptop to my S4... into internal sdcard....

Wiped with no ROM on Internal storage topic

I have done this about 4 or 5 times before. I wipe the entire phone instead of just data and cache. Now I have nothing on the internal storage to install and the ROM is wiped. Heres what I have so far.

I downloaded ioroot10 to run adb. The driver seems to be the biggest issue. I can "adb reboot recovery" and I can also "adb sideload ROM.zip" but nothing happens.

Also, if I wipe the phone entirely, windows will pull up the internal storage. I can see twrp folder and such. I can even transfer small files, but when I try to transfer the ROM it says it is too large even though windows indicates it is 25g

Once before I had the correct driver installed that allowed me to sideload to TWRP and I could go into file explorer and see the file pop up, indicating it was transferring successfully. Waited about 20 minutes for it to finish and I was golden.

This time I am at a loss. Its been close to a year since I have recovered this phone and I cant seem to push the ROM to the phone.

Any help would be appreciated. The driver seems to be the biggest issue and running the LG_VZW_United_WHQL_v2.14.1 does not install the driver. I am forced to search for the driver. I have tried most and some will allow the phone to force reboot recovery and others will install and do nothing.

Some drivers:
adb sideload ROM.zip - error: cancel

Anyone have the exact driver I need for the phone that would be awesome.
