Ive created a custom CM12 bootanimation for 1200x1920 resolution screens (ie; v500). The bootanimation is packaged into a recovery flashable zip file and will install the bootanimation to /system/media/.
In CM11, we were able to copy the bootanimation.zip to /data/local/, but this is not working at the moment in CM12. Therefore, that is why I've made an installer to place the file in /system/media/bootanimation.zip and include a backup script in addon.d so that the bootanimation is restored upon system updates.
