Rooted HTC Desire 500 not turning on topic

I don't know much about rooting but hear me out. I rooted my device successfully and was using it for a month or two. Decided to change the ROM which stopped letting me go into recovery mode. Whenever I tried to go into recovery mode on my device, it would just start it up normally. I thought maybe if I flash a new 'img' to the device it would fix it. So I used flashify and used a Clockwordmod recovery img which I downloaded on the internet. That's when the issue occurred. It Flashify came up with a sign saying it needs a reboot so obviously I rebooted it but now it doesn't turn on, it gets suck of the white HTC screen and does absolutely nothing! Help me out?

[Q] Keep app stay open after turning screen off. topic

Hi!

I'm trying to help a guy building an disc golf score input app for Android Wear to find a solution to force the app to stay open/in front while active. This to save battery, so you can turn off the screen between holes/baskets and when waking the screen the app is there again.

Now every time the screen goes off you will get back to the watch face when waking it up. Then you need to navigate back to the app to be able to continue your score input. This make it all inconvenient.

The same goes for example Google Keep. If you have a grocery list you use while shopping you want to go right back to the list. Today you must turn on the screen, go into your launcher, and re-enter the app, not really convenient right?

Anyone good at this stuff, and have any idea how to code this right?

Turning any android phone/tablet into a raspberry pi topic

Hi guys!

I'm a software developer for some years now, and today I got a request if I could hack any tablet/phone to use it like a raspberry pi or something similar. Basically, the question is, if I can install & run whatever I want on it, like it's the case on the raspberry pi.

I don't fully understand the differences between a raspberry pi-like SoC with an attached touchscreen and an android phone/tablet, so I'm very interested in this topic.

Would you maybe be so kind and answer me some basic questions?

- Is it possible to extract the drivers, for example for the GPU or the touch screen, from a rooted device? If yes, is it hard? Is it always the same, or a completely different process for every different GPU/tochscreen etc?
- Is it possible to use those drivers with the normal linux kernel & any distro I like to use?
- In order to swap android with my linux distribution of choice, what will I actually need to replace, or to do in general? I know that a typical android phone/tablet's internal storage is usually formatted with different partitions, like the bootloader, system oder data partition,
- Will I need to reformat the internal storage and even install a different bootloader? Or is the preinstalled bootloader usually able to boot any system, not just android?

Of course you don't have to answer all the questions. I'm grateful for any answer that helps me in one of those questions or provides me some information I might want to know in this topic.

Thank you very much :)

[Q] remove apps without turning on device? topic

im getting tired of a program on my phone called com.skymobi.lockfram.iphone, as it keeps installing junk, and i have very little free space at the moment. but attemting to find the program will result in a fail, as i cannot locate it, however, using terminal emulator, i can find it, but im unable to remove it, because its in use. so my question is, is there some way, to remove apps/stuff from the phone, while its connected to usb, and not being turned on with android IE some recovery mode, or similar.

the phone is a fake galaxy s5, and i cant remember the features in its very low level recovery menu.
as well as a "factory mode" menu, with debug functions.

[Q] Nexus 5 is stuck on boot screen with the circles after automatically turning off topic

Left my phone to charge over night and woke it up finding it turned off. (You can imagine the shock!!)

I turned it on back and it has been stuck on the boot screen with the flying dots since then. (Annoyed!!)

When I go into recovery mode and try deleting cache or wipe data I get a lot of error messages saying can't mount cache/recovery/log

Can't unlock boatloader to flash stock. It keeps relocking upon each restart.

Each time I wipe I get these error messages.

[Q] Help. Not turning on after trying to install a module. topic

So I did a temporary root on my phone using Weak Sauce 2 and installed xposed framework. After a soft reboot everything seemed to be working fine. Then I installed flat style bar, tweaked it and soft rebooted again. Worked fine. Now I try to install gravity box for jelly bean, when I try and open gravity box it says framework for gravity box not installed. This was probably my mistake here but I thought that that meant I needed to enable it in xposed then soft reboot. SO I enabled it in xposed and soft rebooted it and now my phone won't turn back on. I was charging it at the time and the red led was showing after I unplugged it the red led still shows. It also makes this fuzzy noise every 5 seconds or so like fft ftt (5 seconds) fft ftt and so on. Did I hard brick my device?
