Bluetooth Headphones, Skip Buttons on XT1053 topic

Hello Experts!

I have looked around for a while. I *think* I know the answer, but have a couple queries, I've not been able to find an answer to.

I have a XT1053 - 32GB, First Gen Moto X. Also have a pair of Bose AE2W headphones. I wish I could get it so the skip and pause features would work from the headphones. However, pretty much no matter what buttons I push, it brings up the touchless control - "say call, followed by name/number". I installed the headset controller app, without success.

Do I need to root the phone or unlock the bootloader in order to get this to work? That is sort of the conclusion I've come to. If I am right, what is the difference between rooting and unlocking the bootloader? Does one of these void the warranty and the other not?

Any thoughts would be immensely appreciated. Thanks!

[Q] How to skip Spotify Tracks with Music Boss? [Solved] topic

I swear I have tried every setting in the app and I can't seem to find a way to skip tracks on my pebble. I get the track info, volume up/down, and pause/play to display. Any help is appreciated!

Galaxy S5 running kitkat 4.4.4

[Q] stock xperia Z walkman sometimes skip audio on right headphone? topic

Ok so i have a little odd issue with my xperia z walkman. im on a modified stock but even on regular stock and with any headphones very rarely and with 2 specific songs its more frequent. While listening to music the right headphone side would drop sound for a half of second, literally like 30ms. i was wondering if anyone had this issue before?
also the music files are ok because they play on windows fine.
