[Q] Titanium Backup Pro not restoring accounts, passwords, etc. topic

I recently flashed CM12 onto my phone and upgraded to Titanium Backup Pro to backup my apps and data (I also did a Clockwork Mod backup in case of emergency). Everything seemed to go fine until at the end of the restore from TB Pro a system message came up asking if I wanted to change the default messaging app. I couldn't get rid of this message (or get back to TB Pro) no matter how many times I tapped either yes or no on the system message so (reluctanly) I rebooted the phone. I opened TB Pro and found a log which said the restore was complete. I then found that it had restored all the apps but not all the linked accounts, passwords or system settings (it has restored some app settings, like Pocket Informant and Nova even though with Nova I still had to choose to use it rather than the Google option to use it the first time).

I know some people reflash their OS every night so I assume you don't usually have to reconfigure half the phone manually! I'm guessing the stuck message interfered with the restore in some way and so this was just bad luck. Anyone know if there was any reason for the persistent error message about messaging app or if there is anything I could have done to prevent this happening within TB Pro or in general?

Backup / Restore WiFi Passwords topic

Hi Everyone,

I recently got a new refurbished S4 (via insurance) running 4.4. My old phone was running 4.2; still works (cracked screen but is still usable). Both are rooted.

On the old phone I backed up wpa_suplicant. New phone transferd. After saving any network that wasn't open would be deleted after a reboot (odd). I manually edited the filed and copy and pasted the info for all the saved networks. Reboot. Same.

I deleted the wp_suplicant file and rebooted to get a new file.

I tried backing up all wifi passwords using Titanumim Backup Pro (xml file) and restoring. Wifi manager now knows which networks I have saved and tries to authenticate but fails.

I deleted then got a new wpa_suplicant file. Manually entered the passwords and everything works. I compared the pass keys in the manually entered and backed up files and they are different. Was there an encryption change or some other change in wifi connection between 4.2 and 4.4?

Google backup is turned on but that didn't restore anything either.

Anyone have any ideas how to backup/restore the passwords? I have so many saved I'd really like to not have to re-enter them all.

Thanks!

[Q] WiFi Passwords keep getting lost topic

Does anyone have any ideas why my rooted S5 would lose the stored WiFi passwords if I manually turn off WiFi? Once I turn WiFi back on I have to re-enter the password for WiFi networks and that doesn't seem right.

rooted, NK2, Xposed, Wanam, Safestrap

thanks for any suggestions...
