A general question topic

Guys i cant seem to find anything about this and i dont see it as an issue. Actually I think its quite need but i just want to make sure its kinda a feature and everyone has it.

I noticed that if I recieve a notification is off and that I take my phone out of my pocket and look at the screen it turns on but the notifications are greyed out. I am on cyanogenmod 12 but i also noticed this with stock also. I mean there is nothing wrong with the screen just not sure if thats just a featrure, but once i swipe up to look at the notifications it turns to color.

[Q] Cisco Dx80 - Android Based General Firmware topic

Dear Team,
I'm quite new in this Forum and I'm sorry If this 3d is not in the right section
I'm going to "play" with my New Cisco Dx80 device, I would like to install a Standard Android Firmware.
At the moment there is an installtion of Cisco Customized Android 4.1.1 .
The Devices is based on ARM Cortex A9 @ 1.5Ghz with GPU PowerVr SGX544.
Using EsFile Explorer, I found in /system/app several apk including Galaxy4.apk, Galaxy4.odex ; seems that Cisco take the firmware somewhere (from galaxyS4?) and customized it according their needs; also the Couple A9+SGX544 seems like the same of several Galaxy S4 hardware.

The question is : there is a way to install "general" Android firmware release (rooted) that is compliant with the describer hardware ?

Thanks a lot.

[Q] General understanding of flashing/unlocking topic

Hello everyone,
after my last smartphone died, a Razr I (flashed with CM11), I am a bit confused about the situation with my new phone, the z3c.
I hate the Stock ROM and would love to get my hands on the new CM12 (or similar).
But I read that flashing/unlocking destroys the DRMs and makes the camera worse (among others).

Is there a way to get a Custom ROM without that drawback?
With my current Version 23.0.A.2.98 there is not even a exploit to root the system and make a complete backup (with DRMs), if i recall correctly. Or am I wrong?

Should I wait for a exploit in Sonys Lollipop ROM (if there will be any) or do i lose the Sony-DRMs nevertheless by flashing a Custom ROM?

Thanks and sorry if the questions are a bit confused, I am fairly new to all of this!

General Inquiry: Pitch in your ideas! topic

Galaxy Note 4 is Samsung's 2014 Note series flagship device. When using a flagship device, we want the latest and the greatest technologies available. That's true for the software as well. I've been working hard with Samsung Software Engineers to bring you the latest features for your Galaxy Note 4. At the time of this post, Android Lollipop testing has reached its final phase, we're preparing our servers for mass rollout. The question is... "If there is one thing that you would like your Galaxy Note 4 device to have, what would it be?"

So far, we've received requests for...(These have already been implemented in the Android Lollipop upgrade).
1) Radio stability including GPS, WiFi, and LTE connections.
2) Android Lollipop.
3) Touchwiz UI optimization.

[General] [issue] [nexus/moto G] Problem with FONT character [fi] topic

I recently updated my device [moto g GPE] to lollipop
and i found a issue with new roboto font
the new updated font mixes SMALL LETTER 'f' and 'i' together when there is 'i' next to 'f'
ex. wifi , notification
Attachment 3132559

instead of showing regular fi

device recognizes it as a latin small ligature fi link

the same thing i saw on Nexus 5 updated to lollipop
i tried to clear this by font editing [deleting character fi ] but didn't make is work perfectly [font placement issue like smiley upside text dowside]
someone confirm this on lollipop with stock android

and let me know if there is ay solution for this
