Bad battery life when using custom watch face. topic

To start, I'll say I was moderately impressed with the moto 360 battery life when I got it a couple weeks ago based on all the poor things I had heard about it. My issue however is that it seems like if I use any watch face other than the stock ones that come installed already, the battery struggles to last more than 3 hours. When using something like minimal or classic (pre installed faces) I have no trouble getting 18 hours and having a bit to spare.

Could an element like having a weather display be whats hurting it so bad? I think most of the faces I tried show weather, but only update every hour or two hours. I can not imagine one or two updates eating up 80% of the battery.

[Q] Best ways to improve Nexus 6 battery life? topic

Currently, my nexus 6 has its boot loader unlocked and it's also rooted. It's currently running on the latest Cm12 nightly & franco.kernel. I get about 4 hours of screen on time. What are some tweaks that I can make to improve battery life? Any suggestioms will be welcomed, such as kernel settings, any flashable files, apps, etc. Thank you.:victory:

I just realized I posted in the wrong section, sorry about that.

[Q] Lollipop Battery Life. Help? topic

I'm sure a lot of topics have discussed the battery life of LG G3 on Lollipop. Here I'm trying to figure out if I did something wrong.

I own a D855 (Asian) with stock ROM. I upgraded to Lollipop V20B-SEA-xx in January through LG PC Suite. I found out that the battery life was a lot worse than KK, so I did a factory reset like many suggested. Before the factory reset, I use the backup menu in the phone and backed up everything. I duly restored everything after the factory reset. The battery life remained the same.

2 days ago I upgraded to V20C-SEA-xx through the PC Suite. I got stuck in a bootloop after the update, so I did a hard reset (which returned my G3 to Kitkat 4.4.2). I downloaded the update once again and my phone booted. However the notification bar and home buttons are missing. I tried doing a factory reset using the menu in settings, but it did nothing, so I did another hard reset. This time it booted normally, and I proceed to restore my data/settings/etc through the restore function in settings.

With V20C, battery life is even worse than V20B. I read that a lot of people get better battery life after a factory reset on Lollipop, but I'm not that lucky.

So I was wondering whether it has something to do with the backup and restore that I did? I was thinking of doing another hard reset and setup my phone MANUALLY this time. What do you guys think?

Battery life, is this it? topic

Is this really it for 3200 mah? Really disappointed... Especially with stamina mode on. is there some kind of Sony bug I am missing? Really don't understand the point of stamina mode if she barely beats a old moto x

I was expecting more than 20 hours with 5 hours of sot minimum. that's my standard because my 2013 moto x was able to do that with no problem.

Is there something I am missing here?

Battery life on used moto 360 topic

I just got a moto 360 off Craigslist yesterday. We did a factory reset and I left with it. I played with it a lot last night and it went down about 60% in 3.5 hours. I assumed that was beaches if the almost content use. Put it on the charger last night and woke up with it at 100%. It was down 7% in 20 minutes. Is that normal? Does it slow down later? it's updated to 5.0.1. wondering if there is something wrong with this one.

[Q] How to unbrick my 4X - a question of life and death! topic

I have half-bricked P880. Bought just a week ago.
My ROM is stock V10C. I’m trying to get rid of that crap ROM, but so far without success.
I have rooted the phone but flashify is the only app saing that the phone is not rooted. Every other app which requires root is normally working. I can’t unlock the bootloader because phone can’t be recognized by any computer, using different Windows, USB cables etc. It just shows charging but PC doesn’t see any connected device. Nor the phone shows any connection option when I connect it to PC by USB. Ch
I’ve tried to install TWRP (without success) and CWM (successfully) but the phone can’t be load into bootloader. Just an LG logo will appear and this error message:
[LGE_SECURITY ERROR] boot image signature
Critical failure: Unable to start kernel
Unrecoverable bootloader error (0x00000002)

I think it’s still locked.

This method hasn’t help either…
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2251407
What’s more, the error message appears almost every time I try to turn on the phone. Sometimes it takes 10 attempts until the phone will finally boot into Android.
Yes I’ve tried basic things like playing with USB debug mode, LG PC suite option/USB tethering… please don’t respond to my question by that kind of suggestions, I’m no rookie in flashing roms and Android problems.

Only hope for me is to flash kdz file via PC (when the phone is off and battery out). BUT I’m unable to do that, due to problem that the phone is again NOT RECOGNIZED by PC. Of course I've tried every kind of LG driver but the problem is in the phone, because the PC won’t even notify by sound that a phone has been connected to it. So I need to change the corrupted bootloader… somehow.
I’ve already searched everything to this issue on XDA elsewhere without any solution. So I’m 95% the phone is half-bricked without any chance to flash new ROM.

Original Battery life question topic

Hi, Getting close to 2 years on my gs4. The battery doesn't seem to hold the charge like before. How often do we need to replace the battery?

I'm Desperate, Let's Fix My Battery Life topic

I have a T999V (Wind Mobile) running TouchWiz 4.4 (with towel root) on the Wind Mobile network. This phone has a brand new Anker 2200mAh battery.

Unfortunately, my battery life is under 9hrs. I get about 2hrs of screen on time, which consumes about 20% of battery, and then the combination of Android System, Android OS, Google Services will consume a whopping 50% battery.

I have Wakelock Detector, BetterBatteryStats and GSam Battery Monitor installed.

How do we diagnose what's causing this problem?

I'm usually at home, using my home WIFI. Other issues I've noticed with my phone are that I notice slowdowns sometimes with Swiftkey, when a lot of app updates are going on, Google Maps, Google Chrome address bar. This phone did have water damage at some point and I had to have the power button replaced. Could this affect the battery drainage and or the slowdowns?

Another phenomenon I find peculiar is that I sometimes will get a "connection lost/error" while using Play store, and YouTube. It happens sporadically, sometimes when launching them, sometimes while launching videos, sometimes while doing updates, sometimes while doing in store purchases. This issue occurs on my VK810 tablet as well, and the common issue I've found is that they both have Ad blocking enabled. However, this issue does not happen when the T999 is on the mobile network. Perhaps this is a QoS/port problem with my router configuration?

[Q] One M8 Lollipop Battery life topic

Hi everyone. I've just gotten the lollipop ota update on my Rogers One m8. I've been wondering, how good is the battery life for the m8 on 5.0.1? Is it worse than 4.4.4 or better? This will determine whether I update or not. Thanks!

Kyocera Hydro Life Firmware Update topic

So this morning when I woke up to use my phone, I tried to clear my notifications but one didn't move, so I looked into it and found the phone had downloaded a firmware update, so I hit update....don't we need a kitkat for this phone?? :p:p:p

But it didn't install the update after the phone restarted, stating this error: "update failed. Your device will recover the original configuration."
I tried to check update again, and now I can believe android 4.4 is out for our phones, but is it because I am rooted that it wouldn't install update? Stock rom and recovery here, just rooted, please help..

Battery life om cm11 with S7-30u? topic

Seems I can watch the battery meter go down, lasts maybe 1 hour of use on the cm11.

Maybe bad battery or the cm11 who knows. Any one still getting descent times with this device?

Abismal battery life, any ideas? topic

I'm coming from a note 3 that I used the same if not more than my nexus.

I don't use it heavily and unless I charge it during the day it's dead by 4pm after coming off a change at 5am. So 11 hours life.
Ambient display is off, I use Wi-Fi when available, screen brightness is dimmer than auto brightness sets it to. I've stopped using all widgets, which sucks. I'm currently on a CM12 build with the memory leak fix and still getting horrible life. I'm at 76% right now, 3.5 hours up time.

Is this normal? At the end of the day on my note 3i would still be above 50%, I assumed since this had the same battery size that it would be somewhat similar.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm open to changing settings or ROM's if there is something better.

Nexus 6 How to obtain Best Battery Life topic

I have seen all across the web posts about the disappointment in the battery life of the Nexus 6. I have to say why not, because with a 3300 MAH battery we expect more than 2 hours of on screen time. Which seems to be the normal accomplishment across the device. I have actually been able to achieve 4-5 hours of SOT on a regular basis! I haven't seen many guides on how to do so. I have only seen people bragging about it. So, I decided to post this information for those of you looking for some guidance.

1. First, you're going to want to be rooted.

If you do not know how to root or are not sure how to go about it you can use the Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit which is located here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...1-9-8-t2947452

2. You're going to want to download Greenify. If you don't have it, it can be found here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...greenify&hl=en it is free. The pay version does have more to offer though.

Hibernate every service that typically runs in the background when not used (Example: Facebook, Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, Ebay, basically any notification based app). In addition, leave a widget on your home screen for hibernating the apps and going to the lockscreen. When you're done with your phone you can hit this. This will save battery when you're not using the phone.

3. Have Titanium backup installed (pro version) which consists of the free version + pro key. You can find them in the Google play store.. Free version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...umBackup&hl=en Pay key: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ackupPro&hl=en.

Freeze any applications which you do not use. (Ex: Cloud Print, DMService, Docs, Google Earth, Google Fit, Google books, music, Maps, etc...)

4. Have Disable Service installed. https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...eservice&hl=en

This one is a KEY in getting better battery life. I was not able to get GREAT on screen time until disabling services with the Disable Service app. I have attached pictures of which services you want to disable in regards to "Google play services" which tend to be a HUGE battery drain on the device. Disabling these I notice no issue with the device everything works properly.

5. Keep WI-FI on whenever possible

6. Use battery saver mode whenever possible.

7. Get rid of Google launcher (freeze it in titanium backup) and use an alternate launcher such as Nova, Apex, etc... For some reason the Google launcher seems to be a huge battery drain.

8. Don't use unnecessary services like the Google hot word detection. I have to admit this one is hard because I love just saying "Ok Google" and then telling it what I want to search. But is it really that hard to just hit the microphone on the Google search?

9. If you are a Facebook user: Set the application to NEVER check for an update unless you open the application. Same with Facebook Messenger.

10. Use adaptive brightness or leave brightness at the lowest setting.

By doing this I was in fact able to achieve 5 hours on screen time. I hope this helps someone. Also, if you're a HUGE gamer on your phone. It is very important to realize you're never going to get that kind of on screen time.
