Galaxy S5 Text Messages taking long to send a receive topic

Hi guys,

I have recently got my galaxy s5 and love it but there's one problem. I love to use emoticons as all my other friends send them and so do I but have recently realised that my phone is taking a long time to send long messages as I say I've sent them and my friends screenshot the conversation and show that they haven't received them. This typically happens if the text is over the ' 1 ' that comes out (pages of writing I think). Because the first emoticon is like 100 characters it basically makes any text impossible send straight away. Sometimes it is the same when receiving them as well. My friend has recently sent me 6 text messages with emoticons and nothing is coming through..

Can anyone help me with this issue?

Thanks,

Jon

Navigation long press and double press topic

Hey guys, hoping someone can help me find a rom with this feature. I am using Chroma and missing the ability to set custom actions to long press and double press on navigation bar icons. Lay time I saw this was on unofficial bliss pop I believe... Thanks in advance

Issue copying files with long filenames from Android device to PC topic

I'm backing up/cleaning out my phone's storage and I happened across a weird quirk of file copying. If a file name (and associated folder location on my PC) is too long, the file will not copy. This isn't terribly surprising. What is a bit surprising is that the copy operation simply stops, throws no errors, and gives no indication that anything went wrong or on which file things went wrong.

I haven't done any extensive testing of this, but I did some searching and it seems historically some others might have run into this issue (example: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2350831)

Not sure if there's a great solution other than modifying offending filenames, but I do find it really strange that there's not even a warning thrown when this happens. Running Win 8, Verizon Note 3 4.4.2 (Jasmine ROM, though I don't think that affects anything).

Extremely long Wi-Fi access times topic

My WiFi has issues opening new connections, like checking my email can take anything from a normal 1 second to just sit there and spin for 30 seconds.
This gets worse if I ask the email client to check all three accounts at the same time.

Opening say facebook through a bookmark on the start screen, can either load instantly, or just show a white screen until I force close Chrome and retry.
I never get an actual timeout error, but it'll keep loading some items between 10 seconds, to just never connecting.

When I do a speed check, there's no issue, I get the same 12 Mbps as the wired computer, assuming it'll actually start downloading.
On the play store there's broken downloads though, it'll download at max speed instantly, but then hang in the middle until I force stop the play store (or reboot).
If I let it sit long enough, it might resume but often with corrupt downloads as a result.

I've had this problem for a while now, and I've tried connecting to various other networks with completely different configurations and it's pretty much consistent.

Disabling WiFi and using the LTE network instead, it doesn't display this behaviour at all, so it has to be something with the WiFi.

Has anyone else had this? I can't find anything useful through the search or google, they all suggest I do this and that on my router, but the other devices work fine.
Tested with the HTC M7, an old Motorola Razr, even the now ancient Moto XT720 has no issues.

How long will the internal battery itself last before it needs replaced? topic

I see a lot of threads about how is the battery life, but I want to know how long the life of the battery would be expected to be? This is my first phone that's had a non user replaceable battery and it made me wonder how long this battery will last me and continue to hold a solid charge?

I know there are variables, and my variable is I only charge it once a day at night on a Qi charger (I know i've read the heat can effect the battery), but surely its the same or less heat than the turbo charger produces I'd think.

What are some realistic life spans on these batteries based on perhaps a moto x history maybe since its similar? It doesnt seem the battery is readily available to purchase on ebay or amazon since the device is still new. When the time comes I'll replace it myself, just wondered of any comments you all may have from experience on similar devices?

Thanks!
