[Q] No root after last update (SuperSU binary not installed) topic

Hi there!,

I installed Cyanogen ROM, I tried it for a few days and I liked, but I loose a lot of sound quality using bluettoth audio.

I think the Aptx bluetooth codec, insatalled in stock rom really works.

I have all my music in my phone so I decided to come back to stock and get the aptx quality sound.

I tried to install xposed today but I get a message telling me that I have no root access.

My SuperSU tells me that binary SU is not installed.

Does the last ofifical update change this binary???

How can I restore it?.

Many thanks in advance.

You are my last hope - Unbrick file for S4 Verizon ME7 topic

I have been trying to switch from TWRP to CWM but every time it always ended up with "Secure Fail Kernel" message. So, after many hours of frustrations, I have tried EZ-Unlock to unlock my bootloader, which was a very bad idea.

So, phone is dead now. Power button does not do anything... So, my last hope, before paying for JTAG services, is to try to boot from a unbrick file from sdcard. So, if someone would kindly post/upload/PM the S4 unbrick file, I would appreciate it..

LAST CM11 Nightly! [OFFICIAL] (Original link deleted) topic

So for whatever reason, Cyanogen has removed all CM11 nightlies from their servers. Some people are quite upset at this. I know I was. The last Slimkat stable gave me problems, and the CM12 nightlies are a work in progress. I eventually gave in and began sampling various Lollipop ROMs. Now I've found out that someone was kind enough to post it on Google Drive. Here's the link:

cm-11-20150105-NIGHTLY-bacon.zip

I checked the integrity of the file. The MD5 matches up to the one listed on Cyanogen's website. Enjoy. Here's the MD5 to see if it downloads OK on your side. ;)

md5sum: 7cb44264cc5386dba24c8687c0e8e4cb

If this link goes down, I will repost the file myself.

Oh, and I ask any and all devs who want to screw with this nightly to go right ahead. If it has any problems or features you want added, it's up to the community to add them.

And now, some addons!

[Q] Bluetooth issues after last update topic

Before VoLte update was able to use apps,YouTube, or streaming video and stream Bluetooth at same time with wireless display on, now when connected through wireless display Bluetooth doesn't work nor does the audio port. Turn wireless display off and everything works fine. We use the Belkin mirrorcast video adaptor. With my droid maxx everything still works fine, with the turbo only the audio to the TV works( through mirrorcast HDMI adaptor to TV) any ideas/ help would be appreciated.

[Q] Applied OTA last week - Unable to apply latest one topic

Hi,

I have a European HTC One M8 (CID HTC__203) and I unlocked the bootloader some time ago, using the HTCDev method. I installed the OTA update for version 3.28.401.9 last week, it worked fine. I got the notification for the Lollipop OTA update yesterday and it failed to install it (red triangle of death). At that point, I was really out of ideas as to why one update would work fine and the next one wouldn't, so I searched and searched and I did the following:

* Reinstall the stock recovery for my version (3.28.401.9)
* Relock the bootloader and reinstall the firmware for 3.28.401.9 (installing the firmware while unlocked wouldn't work)

The OTA still fails and I'm now stuck in the following state:

*** Software status: Modified ***
*** RELOCKED ***
S-ON

Trying to re-unlock the bootloader with the HTC unlock code won't work.

I no longer need a custom recovery, SU, S-OFF or whatever modification and I would like to go back to a state where I can just apply OTAs as they come and not care about anything else, but since I'm stuck with a locked bootloader, I can do pretty much nothing.

Thanks in advance for you help !

Last try with Firewater 4.4.2 hb1.56 topic

Forgive me for this. This is the last straw I have with this device. Doing this for a friend and am so demoralized right now, honestly you could blow on me and I'll fall apart, so please have mercy on me~ I'm just trying to help someone else. Hell I own a Galaxy S3... I'm not even going to get to play with the thing, so believe me I'd rather not be bothering you guys.

All commands are run successfully, root is being achieved with weaksauce. Successful rooting, I wait for activation upon each reboot. ADB clears and devices are kept online throughout the process. Firewater is successfully pushed to the /data/local/tmp directory. Superuser is achieved and accessible on the phone. CHMOD command is run correctly, upon verification properties are confirmed to have successfully been modified.

When running the final command, it returns itself. Then firewater vanishes completely from the device. It disappears. The command does nothing. It literally goes, poof.

I'm at the end of my wits. I've never seen anything like it. I don't know what else to do. Please, do not mention Sunshine, I'm aware of this app. I am currently on food stamps, I could go in detail on the reasons why I can not afford bus money never the less Sunshine as an app, but you wouldn't want to hear it, so please, be kind, I'm trying my best to be polite. I'm just frustrated and suffering from a migraine. You've all been here before. Tell me where I'm derping.

For reference.

Code:

adb reboot
adb wait-for-device push firewater /data/local/tmp
adb shell
su
chmod 755 /data/local/tmp/firewater
/data/local/tmp/firewater

TLDR - Final line deletes the file being run. All previous commands are successful. Superuser granted. Firewater never actually runs, or gives an error. File is lost upon execution. Ty for your time.

Cannot download last cm11 nightlies topic

https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=bacon

Im trying to download cm-11-20150105-NIGHTLY-bacon.zip but without success. I am forced to download some app cyanogen downloader or so which does not detect my phone and require PC which makes no sense to me as I just want to download rom directly onto my OPO.

If I force desktop version of the site I am getting this:

Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/tornado-2.4-py2.7.egg/tornado/web.py", line 1037, in _execute self.prepare() File "/usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/tornado-2.4-py2.7.egg/tornado/web.py", line 1487, in prepare raise HTTPError(self._status_code) HTTPError: HTTP 404: Not Found

Do you guys know how to download that file?

How long will the internal battery itself last before it needs replaced? topic

I see a lot of threads about how is the battery life, but I want to know how long the life of the battery would be expected to be? This is my first phone that's had a non user replaceable battery and it made me wonder how long this battery will last me and continue to hold a solid charge?

I know there are variables, and my variable is I only charge it once a day at night on a Qi charger (I know i've read the heat can effect the battery), but surely its the same or less heat than the turbo charger produces I'd think.

What are some realistic life spans on these batteries based on perhaps a moto x history maybe since its similar? It doesnt seem the battery is readily available to purchase on ebay or amazon since the device is still new. When the time comes I'll replace it myself, just wondered of any comments you all may have from experience on similar devices?

Thanks!

[Q] Micro SD card has many pics, except for the ones taken the last day it was used topic

Hello all,

I have a problem with very important lost pictures on the SD card of my Samsung Galaxy S4.
Here's what happened...

I went out for New Year Eve, had a wonderful time and took many pictures. Upon reviewing my pictures, I noticed that about half of my pics were showing a blank icon with a lightning bolt in the top center. I was very upset about this, but said to myself "well, at least I have half of my pictures".

Then I took the SD card out of my phone and put it into a card reader and plugged it into my Windows 7 computer.
Upon doing so, I got the message ".......Scan and Fix (recommended) with the option to continue or cancel. I chose continue and all my pictures were deleted from New Years Eve.

I downloaded and tried 12 different data recovery software and it only found files that I had already copied over; no files from New Years Eve .

I read somewhere that there might be a place where the pictures may be in a hidden file system area under a different file extension and that all I had to do was change the file extension and I would get my pictures back.

Well, after a thorough search, I came up with no files.

I also tried to look for CHK files in order to change the extension, but; much to my disappointment, no CHK files were visibly present.

I have read about dirty bit, hidden partitions, chkdsk, clusters and more; some of which I am not knowledgeable enough to use.

This is a 64GB san disk card that was plugged into my Samsung Galaxy S4.

Thanks much,

duugg

[Q] Am I the last Kit Kat flasher? topic

Since Lollipop has come out I have supported it in various ways. I have flashed the roms since the beginning, have donated funds to the cause, and have sacrificed my time and phone to help solidify LP on our OPO's, but I still love Kit Kat.
Am I the only one that still flashes kit kat builds? I actually still prefer them over LP because of the stability, the themes, the ease of use because of being what you would call comfortable with it, and I like that I don't have to worry about flashing the wrong thing and bricking my phone.
I don't know. Maybe I'm behind the times, or maybe I just am not ready to move on.

But, my question is; do you still enjoy KK roms? Do you still flash them? For me, yes, I am running Vanir's last KK build from 11/24/14 and it has been extremely stable for me.

Just curious if there are still some old school KK users out there...

P.S. please don't take this thread wrong. In no way am I putting down or in any way being negative on LP. I love LP also. That's why I explained myself in the beginning. I appreciate all who work hard for our OPO's and believe me I do what I can and give when I can. I love to donate and will continue to do so. This is just a little innocent thought of mine.
