[Q] Digitizer, not LCD, replacement topic

I have a SGH-M919 Galaxy S4 that works fine except for the touch screen (digitizer). There are no cracks on the screen and the display is fine. I see that there are a lot of guides for replacing the LCD/digitizer combo, but none that show only replacing the digitizer. Is that possible? I assume the combo consists of a front glass, the digitizer, and then the LCD. Can these be separated?

I swapped the motherboard from this S4 with the motherboard on a working S4 and the touch screen remained inoperative, so I know it is just the digitizer. Is it possible it is just the flax cable that connects to the motherboard? If so, can it be replaced by itself.

There are a lot of vendors on eBay selling LCD/digitizer combos for 0 - 0, but I hate spending that much when the screen is working fine. Any suggestions from the forum would be greatly appreciated.

Hey everyone so I had the turbo ballistic edition when it was released. After two months I started to get problems from it and have tried all the ways possible to fix it. I did fdr, art mode, reboot, updates and it still had weird heating issues for normal light use with the cooling down would take forever. The capacitive buttons would not work every so often a day. I then last week talked with a Verizon rep and ended up getting a certified like new turbo and those problems have do away completely resulting in a much better battery life and everything else.

Hi all

I have a Moto G (1st Gen) with kit kat dead since 3 weeks ago. My phone committed suicide and the result was broken screen. Some hours after that the screen stopped working.

I bought a new screen and replaced the old one. After that my phone did not boot. Then I tried the following:

1) At first I thought it was the battery problem, because the led blinks when I connect the phone to the charger (one blink) or when I press the power button for 10 seconds (one blink). But I had that problem before and now is different. Button combos, different chargers, ... nothing works.

2) I connected it to the PC and was recognized as qhsusb_bulk. Searching here on XDA I found it could be a bo2otloader problem, and here I am. Installed MotoFlasher and the drivers. But the flashing it's not working for me. I receive the next message:

OUTPUT: flashing singleimage
OUTPUT: FAILED (sdl-transfer-image:send-image:sdl-open-multi:error reading packet)

Only found that error in one thread but without responses.

* Don't know what else I can do. I was thinking in replacing the battery as the last attempt, but maybe the blinking pattern is not indicating a problem there. Maybe the screen does not work. Next move would be buying a new phone :( I hope you have more ideas!

I just recieved a replacement Unit for my malfunktioning HDX 9.8. Current version on this thing is 14.3.0.2_user_302075320. I have just started it up to check the version and have not yet registered it or even connected it to a network. This time around I would like to be in control of things! What would be the appropriate thing to do with this version, if I want to :

1. Root it and keep it from auto-updating.
2. getting it safestrapped to be able to...
3. ...flash custom roms safely in the future,

Ive been looking around these forums to find out myself but information is scrambled and depending on version numbers and other things. The learning curve sure is steep here :)

Glass Replacement topic

Hi all,

I recently fell whilst holding my brand new N6 and cracked the screen pretty bad. The digitiser and LCD appear to work OK, so I'm taking the plunge and will try and replace the glass myself.

I've replaced the display module (glass, LCD and digitiser) for a number of family/friend's phones and feel comfortable about working with the small electronics. I've been reading and watching countless tutorials on the removal of the glass from the rest of the display assembly but and yet to find any information specifically about doing this on the N6. Specifically, I'm worried about how the speakers will affect the glass removal process.

If anyone has any N6 specific info, it would be most appreciated. I'm waiting for the replacement glass to arrive, I'll update this thread with how i get on!

XT926 failed screen/fascia replacement, help! topic

hey guys, in serious need of assistance here.

I got a screen/fascia from ebay for my XT926, its like the whole assembly.

After replacement, the screen doesn't turn on, the phone physically works.

I plugged the phone into my TV using the hdmi cable and its on and running and the digitizer responds, i can use the phone. but the screen does not come on.

I've reinstalled the oem screen, and nothing, the reason for replacement was the glass is trashed but it worked.

****full disclosure=My roommate did the actual swap, while i was at work. I was gonna do it but he decided to try it himself. He had trouble with the little black tab that holds the ribbon cable in popped out, and he couldn't get it back in. I got it in when i got home, and locked down. he said he tried turning it on with out that tab in, and had the same result as i did, the led flashed, and it sounded like it turned on, he said. buttons/camera replacement topic

Does anybody knows if you can buy the buttons/camera housing separately? I have a blue LG G3 and since I don't find any replacement battery cover in original blue, I was thinking on changing the buttons/camera housing to black or white versions and then get a battery cover in those colors.

I recently read about the Hyperion battery which basically allows you to swap your existing battery for an 8000 mAh battery, and comes with a different case. I think the stock battery is something like 3250mAh.

What other batteries are out for the Galaxy Note 4 and in what capacities? I'm not asking for charging boxes. Secondly, are there any cases available to fit these larger battery packs?

I managed to ding up my watch pretty bad crashing my skateboard and haven't been able to find any parts for the G Watch R. Does LG sell parts for it or am I stuck scanning ebay for a replacement housing?
