[Q] I have some questions to ask about Nandroid backup and restore.. Please help :) topic

Ok. So, I am using Micromax canvas A1 with Android One handset. I have unlocked the bootloader, flashed a custom CWM Recovery and Rooted it.
I have also created a full backup from CWM Recovery on external SD Card.
Now, here are some questions that I want to ask:
1 ) If I flash a custom bootlogo. So, if I restore my phone from CWM recovery, will the bootlogo will change back to the default?

2) If I install a custom ROM and if I don't like it and if I want to return back to my old stock ROM, will I be able to do it by restoring my phone from CWM Recovery from the created backup?

3) If I restore my phone from CWM Recovery, will my phone return to factory version (all data will be deleted, such as Contacts, Call logs, SMSs, etc.), or will it return to as it were when I created the backup?

[Q] Drive errors reported in TWRP creating a nandroid . (Another Noob Question) topic

First I like to thank berndblb for Beginners Guide to root and flashing a custom ROM on the TF700T. :good:
I was able to get it unlocked and TWRP 2.8.4.0 installed using Minimal ADB and Fastboot . Got this error when creating a nandroid and also it happened again when Copying Log to SD.
E:Failed to get default contexts and file mode for storage files.
From what I can find on error ,it seems to be in TWRP related after version is 2.8.1.0. Should I flash 2.8.1.0 and do I have to delete 2.8.4.0 first ?
I am still reading about About F2FS and getting ready to flash a Rom. But before I Screw stuff up as a Noob.
I am trying to learn be for I (Error}!
I attached a copy of data log.
Thanks,
Never North

[Q] Problem to install OTA on MY stock rom (nandroid backup)... topic

Hy,

On day one i did a nandroid backup of my stock htc m8 european rom.

Then i flashed custom recovery and roms...

I am S-ON

Each time a new android version (or sense) was launched, as i am S-On, I re installed my original stock rom to get the latests OTA and FIRMWARES !:D

All has always functionned perfectly ! The i returned again on custom roms (with new firmware ) ! :D

Till yesterday i decided to do the same process to get the last lollipop ota : return to stock recovery + stock rom + ota +ota +ota...

But a problem occurs after the second OTA installation (2.22.401.5 (613 mo) to android 4.43) ! My Phone has no more wifi access and i can't go further....:crying:

I spent all my night readiig and reading forums, checking everything (stock recovery, erase cache, bootloader relocked, full wipes...) ..

Nothing functionned

So i re installed my last 4.44 custom rom...

Could you please tell me what i had forgotten ?

[Q] Possibly stupid NANDROID question... topic

Okay, so I'm a Samsung Note 3 owner that's helping out a guy to unscrew his AT&T M8. We're trying to return to nandroid stock using this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2701376, and I'm at the step where it says to flash the nandroid .zip file in TWRP. This is all fine and dandy, but even though it's located in the TWRP/backups folder, and apparently it's the correct nandroid version, it FAILS immediately. Maybe I got the wrong version??? I've googled around, but I can't seem to get the right info on this one!

Any and all help would be appreciated!!!:good:

How To Restore App+App Data from a KitKat Nandroid Backup to Lollipop topic

I have searched so many times and I have no clue how to do this. I have tried just using nandroid manager to restore but it ends up just restoring the app, not the app data..
Is the only true solution to this would be restoring the kitkat nandroid and using titanium backup all my apps?
Thanks for the halps.

How reliable are Nandroid backups? Anyone ever experience bugs after restoring? topic

I was wondering how everyones experience with nandroid backups are and how reliable it is. Do any of you experience any bugs after restoring? Do any of you ever have any problems going back from a touchwiz and CM rom often? (Of course I do a full wipe before restoring) I seen a few users always mention they get bugs after restoring from a backup, I was just wondering if this is just a a few people.

I have 2-3 backups I want to go back and forth from, and there are days believe it or not when I miss touchwiz lol. So going back from touchwiz and cm roms won't give me any sort of bugs or anything? I am just questioning the reliability of nandroid backups
