I have a Lenovo A8 5500-F Tablet running stock Kit-Kat 4.4.2 build # A5500F_A442_000_027_141207_ROW, it is rooted, and if anyone wants to root I used the Kingo root tool on windows8 pc. Anyways, now that I have root I want to install twrp or any other custom recovery so I can then put a custom rom it. Its a good tablet with lots of potential. Thank anyone that can help.

[Q] Anyone downgraded from 5.0.2. to 4.4.4 topic

Hello, I have upgraded to 5.0.2. via OTA a few days ago. My phone was RetEU .23, and the update notification that 5.0.2. became so annoying, so I decided to give it a shot. Lollipop is a disappointment for me, battery drain issues, lagging all over the menus, slow dialer, the phone was running better with KK installed, so I want to return back to 4.4.4.
Unfortunately there is no clear opinion whether this could be done, some say that when you have 5.0.2. bootloader installed with the OTA, you cannot go back, others say that it is no problem to do so. Really confusing.
Anyone tried to go back to 4.4.4. after getting the OTA? Could you please share how did you do so? Unlocking the bootloader and flashing one of the 4.4.4 stock ROMs from the General Section?

[Q] LG L80 Dual || SDCard Write Access || Anyone??? topic

After I bought the device, first thing I liked to do was to make SD Card as the default location. But this device does not have this option. So, used adb to change the location from internal to external storage. But when I started installing apps, it was giving insufficient storage space, though I was having 300 MB in my internal storage & more than 5GB in external storage. Moreover, bluetooth file transfer was also not possible. In one sentence, access to SD Card is not permissible under any circumstances, in this devices.

After surfing, I came to know that KitKat has prevented SD Card write permission due to some issues. Same surfing has also told me how to do what.

1. Root the device - Did it from the post - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2732311.
2. To edit the platform.xml file, putting a string under an element of EXTERNAL_MEDIA_WRITE_ACCESS.

But none have worked. Unable to set SD Card as default location.

Does anyone can guide me, step-by-step, how get the write access in sd card from this device?

Anyone using Sidesync? topic

To those who are not familiar, Sidesync is a Samsung app that lets you fully control your Samsung phone with your PC. You can use either your PC's monitor to project your phones actual screen onto to monitor itself, or you can choose to stick with your phone's screen....both methods allow you to use the PC (or laptop's) keyboard and mouse. It's truly a VERY useful app, that I use on a daily basis being that I am in front of a computer all day.

Not gonna lie, I got some phone envy when the Nexus 6 came out and that 5.0 Lollipop sure is eye candy! I was soooo close to dropping my Note 4 to get the Nexus 6, but I ALWAYS miss the S-Pen every time I change out from a Note Phone (2 & 3) in the past.

After having the Note 4 for about 2 months, I finally rooted today and am going to install some Roms....I am going to try out CM12, but was curious if anyone running pure android has gotten the Sidesync app to work with stock android?

If you sit in front of a computer all day, give Sidesync a shot. I'm pretty sure it may come in handy for you.
