How to change picture of "Drag to unlock your nook" screen that shows after boot? topic

How to change picture of "Drag to unlock your nook" screen that shows after boot, for NSTG with firmware 1.2.1 ?

This screen shows the photo of the park pines tree, and I want to change it but don't know where it needs to be changed.

I thought it was /system/media/screensaver/default.png as this was the same, but having changed that, I'm still seeing the tree pic.

[Q] Nook HD+ won't turn on, tried everything topic

I was using my Nook HD+, when the screen suddenly showed lines all across it and froze. I had to push down the power button for 8 seconds to shut it down. Then could not turn it on. Tried all possible combinations, power, power+n, power+n+volume up keys for 5 seconds and for 30 seconds each time. Still not turning on. I tried plugging it in (although it had about 40% charge left before the screen froze) and noticed that the charging indicator glows green. If I push down the power button for 8 seconds, the light goes off, but if i press the button again, it comes back on. I've tried all the methods I saw on internet, except for draining the battery because the post suggested keeping it in a fridge, which I'm hesitant and also not in a position to do. Please help guys. I'm at a total loss.

Nook touch screen dead topic

Hi,

I loaded CM 11 and was working fine. I tapped on the CMD update APP and it checked for updates and tablet rebooted and touch screen failed to work. I tried reinstall, wiped everything etc. I tried cm10 again and no luck. Not sure what to do at this point.

PC hates nook (ohci_hcd error) topic

I want to fix my bricked Nook (8g), in order to fix it I loaded cwm into a microsd card and my plan was getting adb to work while the Nook is in cwm recovery. The problem here is that my pc (Debian Wheezy) doesn't seem very happy with the tablet and I couldn't get it recognized.

Using Android SDK Manager I got the following in the usb.ini

Quote:

# ANDROID 3RD PARTY USB VENDOR ID LIST -- DO NOT EDIT.
# USE 'android update adb' TO GENERATE.
# 1 USB VENDOR ID PER LINE.
0x2080

worth saying (probably), I also edited /etc/udev/rules.d/51-android.rules as follows:

Quote:

SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ATTR{idVendor}=="2080", MODE="0666"
SUBSYSTEM=="usb",ATTR{idVendor}=="2080",ATTR{idPro duct}=="0004",SYMLINK+="android_adb"
SUBSYSTEM=="usb",ATTR{idVendor}=="2080",ATTR{idPro duct}=="0004",SYMLINK+="android_fastboot"

When I finished doing that and still didn't work, I looked up what happens when I plug the tablet into the usb port,

Quote:

[ 9634.796053] usb 2-9: new full-speed USB device number 39 using ohci_hcd
[ 9634.980037] usb 2-9: device descriptor read/64, error -62
[ 9635.268035] usb 2-9: device descriptor read/64, error -62
[ 9635.548038] usb 2-9: new full-speed USB device number 40 using ohci_hcd
[ 9635.732041] usb 2-9: device descriptor read/64, error -62
[ 9636.020041] usb 2-9: device descriptor read/64, error -62

so this seems to be the error. Is it possible to fix it? I tried a few things I found (like killing the usb services and start them again) but you can tell it wasn't exactly successful. Is there anything I can try?
