[Q] Padfone 2 problem - battery, software brick or something else? topic

Good Evening,

I have a Padfone 2 wwe running stock firmware and locked boot. Yesterday the phone just stopped charging and wont turn on normally. This is what happens:

• When turning the phone on: Shows the empty battery icon and then immediatly reboots. This leads to an infinite loop. I've had it going through this loop for hours, no help.


• When put the phone in the dock nothing happens. If I try to turn on the phone while in the dock the white spinning circles, usually shown when docking the phone, is shown for a few seconds then it turns off again.


• When unplugged from power source I cant access neither recovery mode(power+vol down) or CSC/fastboot mode (power+vol up).


• When plugged in to power source I get into CSC/fastboot mode. If I connect the phone to a computer I get a ASUS Fastboot loader devide. However ADB don't find the device when I use the ADB devices command. (Tried following the Tutorial: Un-Bricking Padfone 2 (and possibly other android devices): http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...2256977&page=4 guide)


• When plugged in to power source I get to the first menu in recover mode (Recovery/Restart). However if I select Recovery the phone dies and the reboots again.


• I've tried unplugging the battery for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in again, no help.

So my question is if you think a new battery will solve it or if I should try something else?

[Q] New Software Update? topic

Hey guys, my Spring Galaxy S3 got a notification a few days ago saying "System update downloaded, Android system update."

I'm running 4.4.2 stock and I'm rooted. I have no idea what this update is. The size is 83.6 MB. If this is a proper update, I will probably lose root and I don't want that. Does anyone know what this update is specifically? And how can I get rid of it from showing up on my notifications if I chose not to update?

[Q] Telus HTC Desire 510 - problems removing software from device topic

Hey,

Wondering if somebody could help me out. I purchased a Telus HTC Desire 510. The bootloader has been unlocked, TWRP installed, SuperSU root access. I installed Titanium Backup. I uninstalled system software such as Twitter, Facebook, services etc, and have noticed that when I restart the phone, the software comes back.

Can someone explain to me why the O.S. is doing this? It's Android kitkat. I have noticed in any file manager that it defaults to and emulated folder etc //sdcard/emulated. Also thinking it might have something to do with HTC software pre-installed //dumby proof backup software? In the past on any Android device, after unlocking and rooting I've never had this problem. Starting to fumble me...

Two annoying software issues topic

Since I've purchased my G3 and changed all roms, from official to stock, from kitkat to lollipop (all LG based) I've always been having same 2 problems.
They are really annoying and I have no idea how to get rid of them and I don't see anyony else complaining about it so it could be just my phone in particular.

1. When lockscreen is set on swipe, sometimes it doesnt unlock from first try, animation follows as my finger goes but after it stays locked. I got big hands and I can do long swipe (in case if somebody was to say I didnt swipe long enough).

2. This is even more annoying. This was on both Kitkat and Lollipop. In recents sometimes I get displayed all recently used apps and sometimes I see only last one used. When I swipe to clean that one app and enter recents again, the previous app shows up alone. then for 3rd again, then 4th, etc. On Kitkat it was pretty rare, but on Lollipop it happens to me all the time.

Is it just me or this happens to you too?

[Q] Unable to restore QCN file with QPST Software Download application. topic

Hi All, this is my first post so sorry if etquette or sthg is wrong :)
I have been able to connect my OPO to my computer and open diagnostic port and see it as a modem (COM11).
I was able to access it with QPST Software Download application to make a backup. ( I can describe how to do it if necessary)

Unfortunately I am Unable to restore QCN file with QPST Software Download application.
It all works OK to the end (100%), until it says resetting, then it says connection lost and it fails.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

[Q] Only Software Decoder for MKV Files? topic

I love using MX Player to watch shows on my Android devices. However I'm watching Psycho-Pass right now and noticed that only software decoder works for .mkv files, probably because of the way fansub groups encode their anime. Are there any intentions to add in a hardware decoder support for .mkv files in the future? Would help a lot with regards to how smooth the show is when I try to watch it on my phone, especially if it is 1080P. Would also help with battery life too.

Or is this more related with Hi10P? It seems that way but I am not sure since I know some of the anime I watch encode using Hi10P while others don't.

when i was trying to update by OTA to have lollipop i must enable cdma and i think its not available in Egypt
so i cant even check for update , is there any way to have the new update without OTA

Need link to download the specific software specified in the title of this thread. Came across the one loaded on Google by another xda member but having difficulties downloading it. If you have it mirrored to another cloud service please provide me with the link. I am mostly gunning to get my hands on all of the .img files which come inside it so that I may review them via a hex editor and unlock my bootloader the sneaky way since Huawei refuses to reply back to my emails.
