I Backup-ed my HTC 816 using android system recovery - Just like CWM.

The file name ends with .Backup, and i tried to it back restore but a error is coming and i unable to restore my data . attached screenshot

[Q] OTG not showing up in File Manager topic

Hi, I am running cm12 for moto g. I am using the latest nightly of cm12. My problem is that whene I insert my OTG, it doesn't show up in any file manager. It only shows up in file manager only after rebooting my phone. After removing the OTG and then inserting it again it doesn't show up in any file manager until I reboot it again which is really annoying. Also there is no mount and unmount option under storage section in settings. Please help

[Q] MTP connection file transfer problem (transferring file from pc to phone) topic

When i connect my phone to a computer, the computer recognize the device and i can transfer files from my phone to pc without a problem. But when i transfer a file from pc to my phone (either to internal or to sdcard), the copying stock in 0% and do not continue. Both my internal and sdcard has almost 5gig free space each. My pc is windows 7 and my android is using MTP connection. please help anyone..many thanks!

How can I change this behavior?

Hi, I'm in complete meltdown today. I didn't do thorough research and unlocked bootloader on my Z3. Now I regret it.

I heard you could restore the DRM files by mounting the TA files back onto the phone. Can someone give me their backed up TA files so that I can restore DRM features on my phone? I cried this morning because of my ignorance.

If not, can someone help me add "CWM-Based Recovery 6.0.4.7 Recovery" on my phone? I can't seem to load "Advance Stock Kernel with CWM Recovery v01 (FW: 23.0.A.2.93)" onto my phone. The program used to load it won't just make it happen.

I think I can handle the rest after that, but I need some suggestions.

Can some one tell me what id the location for the "AssertiveLight.apk" widget in the stock rooted ROM (Stock_Verizon_I545VRUFNK1_4.4.2)?
I checked the /system/app and /stsrem/priv-app folder but could not locate the apk file. Is it under a different name?

ROM with 3 files and/or pit file for G900F topic

Hello to all.
I am looking for stock ROM and pit file mainly because i want to repartition my phone.
I remember on my S1 and S3 there were ROM's with 3 files, but for S5 maybe there is only one file + pit for repartition.

P.S: The reason i need this is because i am trying to fix my phone. The phone is G900F and i am trying to flash stock Bulgarian ROM downloaded from samfirmware. I flashed the Polish and the British without any problem , but none of the Bulgarian one's are working. I have done this 1000 times with all my samy device's. Now i can't even downgrade to 4.4.2 because the lollipop is so laggy and i don't like it.

Flashable file to change build.prop values topic

So I'm having this weird microphone issue with my OnePlus One where people can only hear me if I turn on the speakerphone.
I found a way to fix it, but I need to do it every time I flash a new rom. Since I'm currently testing the CM nightlies, that means almost everyday!

I was thinking about a flashable .zip file that changes the values for me. Is this possible? Is it complicated? Do we have any tool/app for this?
The details are below, but the files that need to be adjusted are build.prop, audio_platform_info.xml, and mixer_paths.xml+

Step by step:

/system/build.prop. Change
ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype=fluence
to
ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype=none
Then, edit /system/etc/audio_platform_info.xml
<device name="SND_DEVICE_IN_HANDSET_MIC" acdb_id="40" />
to
<device name="SND_DEVICE_IN_HANDSET_MIC" acdb_id="4" />

And also....

1. Go to system/etc/mixer_paths.xml
2. Mount system as R/W
3. Open up mixer_paths.xml with Text Editor
4. Scroll close to the bottom of the text, your little scroll position indicator should be about an inch up from the bottom of your screen(no on screen buttons)
5. You will see <!-- Analog input devices --> and a bunch of text underneath.
6. I wasn't entirely sure which mic would make this work so I changed the <path name+"main-mic"> value from 84 to 110
7. Save the changed mixer_paths.xml and reboot your device for good measure

I have been trying to switch from TWRP to CWM but every time it always ended up with "Secure Fail Kernel" message. So, after many hours of frustrations, I have tried EZ-Unlock to unlock my bootloader, which was a very bad idea.

So, phone is dead now. Power button does not do anything... So, my last hope, before paying for JTAG services, is to try to boot from a unbrick file from sdcard. So, if someone would kindly post/upload/PM the S4 unbrick file, I would appreciate it..

[Q] Nexus File access from Recovery topic

Been trying to search this but can't find a way to access my Nexus 6 file system from recovery.

I tried editing my build.prop (phone is rooted, no custom rom) rebooted and now stuck on the Google boot screen with the unlock symbol.

Hoping to restore by file (have backup) rather then reset to default.

Fastboot sees it (mac os) but adb does not)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't want to be converted to believing placing files on sdcard is just as good.

Hi all,
Few days back i was trying to root my HTC one. In order to play safe i saved all my contacts in my phone memory. Later i transferred that file containing my contacts to my system. That file was saved with an extension ".VEF". Usually contacts file get saved with VCF (never heard about VEF before).
In order to synchronize my Samsung phone book i transferred that file from my system to my samsung galaxy S5. But i am getting an error with this? This file is not opening. Kindly suggest me how to open that VEF file?

[Q] File Recovery of Bricked Kindle Fire 7" topic

I bricked my rooted Kindle into a bootloop, and would like to get to transfer files to my computer before unbricking it. I don't think I have any specific backup software installed (though have heard of firefirefire and twrp). My main concern is about file recovery, as I have found some guides for unbricking my Kindle, but any advice for that is still appreciated. I don't know a whole lot about this kind of stuff, so I really want to make sure I get things off safely. Thanks!
