[Q] Hard Brick fastboot issues topic

Ok so here's what happened.

Couple days ago I mistakenly selected "install now" while attempting to postpone the OTA on my VS980. Phone was rooted on stock ROM via stump root and I had not installed a custom recovery yet.

Phone then would only show the LG screen and display an error. No download mode or recovery.

So I utilized a VM running Ubuntu and pushed the sdl1, aboot, rpm, tz and TWRP 2.7 to the phone.

upon restart of the phone It would only start up into fastboot mode. The only other thing it would do is bring up the hardware key mode ( done by pressing vol-, pwr, vol+ at the same time)
Phone would report two errors upon being plugged into the computer and the computer only recognizes the phone as an adb device in device manager

"EP1/out FAIL nfo=40pg0=f910700"
"usb_read() transaction failed"

So I installed the adb on windows and in terminal on Ubuntu. I also installed the unified LG drivers, SDK and the google USB drivers. I now get the same error messages but the fastboot mode now constantly resets.

here is what it goes through
"fastboot mode started"
"reset"
"portcharge"
"fastboot: processing commands"
"reset"
"EP1/out FAIL nfo=40pg0=f910700"
"portcharge"
"usb_read() transaction failed"
"fastboot: oops!"
"fastboot: processing commands"
"reset"
"EP1/out FAIL nfo=40pg0=f910700"
"portcharge"
"usb_read() transaction failed"
"fastboot: oops!"
"fastboot: processing commands"

this goes on and on....

any ideas on where to go from here?

[Q] Padfone 2 problem - battery, software brick or something else? topic

Good Evening,

I have a Padfone 2 wwe running stock firmware and locked boot. Yesterday the phone just stopped charging and wont turn on normally. This is what happens:
  • When turning the phone on: Shows the empty battery icon and then immediatly reboots. This leads to an infinite loop. I've had it going through this loop for hours, no help.

  • When put the phone in the dock nothing happens. If I try to turn on the phone while in the dock the white spinning circles, usually shown when docking the phone, is shown for a few seconds then it turns off again.

  • When unplugged from power source I cant access neither recovery mode(power+vol down) or CSC/fastboot mode (power+vol up).

  • When plugged in to power source I get into CSC/fastboot mode. If I connect the phone to a computer I get a ASUS Fastboot loader devide. However ADB don't find the device when I use the ADB devices command. (Tried following the Tutorial: Un-Bricking Padfone 2 (and possibly other android devices): http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...2256977&page=4 guide)

  • When plugged in to power source I get to the first menu in recover mode (Recovery/Restart). However if I select Recovery the phone dies and the reboots again.

  • I've tried unplugging the battery for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in again, no help.

So my question is if you think a new battery will solve it or if I should try something else?

Thank you all!

[Q] Tf300T hard brick, screen won't go on topic

Hi people,

So, during flashing the stock rom on my Tf300T (which I've used before) the installation stayed on the same spot for over an hour. I thought it was a good idea to turn off the power and do it all over again. Unfortunately the device doesn't turn on anymore. Or at least, the screen doesn't. It gets recognised by windows but not by fastboot. Is there anyone who can tell me what to do?

Thanks in advance!

Brick Phone - EFS delete - no S-Off topic

Hello Guys,

Please HELP ME!! :(

At first, sorry for my bad english, i´m german.

I have a HTC One Vodafone, on hboot 1.57 and CID VODAP102. currently running CM12 5.02

So, during the Root-Process the EFS-Partition was delete and so my HTC has no IMEI Nr oder Baseband Nr. and of course i have no backup.. nothing...

i wanted to restore or repair my EFS partition as mentioned in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2399037

but in my phone is no /data/nvram/md/NVRAM path .. i think because i have not the stock ROM installed, right?

So i decided to flash the right Stock ROM like described here: (sorry, german site) http://www.android-hilfe.de/anleitun...-swisscom.html

BUT for doing that i need to S-OFF my phone, i really tried everything, firewater, rumrunner, revone... it seems like it is impossible for me..

Rumrunner says, my combination of Kernel and ROM is not supported.. WTF? which combination do i need??

So, my main problem is to restore the EFS.. Is there any simpler way to do that??

please help me guys....

Thank you

Best regards Bischii 02

Possible Brick topic

So, I'm in a bit of a jam over here. I was flashing a new recovery and I thought everything was good, so I clicked reboot recovery and expected the new recovery to come up. I guess something went wrong, because it's stuck on the first screen with the blue recovery text. I do not appear to be able to boot normally, every time I try, it tries to go into recovery and can't.

I can get into download mode, but I'm having trouble getting ODIN to see my phone.

Any ideas?

[FIX]Repair White Screen, Bootloop, Soft Brick etc. the quick & dirty way topic

Most guides suggest reflashing stock rom for this, however that means you would have to re-root your device and also install a new recovery again. Any other data on your system will get lost as well.

I had a white screen problem with my SGA+ and according to a post about Indian and Chinese SGA+ phones, I needed to flash a European stock rom first before I was able to use certain roms (e.g. kk) at all. Because of various reasons Odin was not an option, so I had to use heimdall. With heimdall all partitions are flashed in sequence and you can choose which ones you want to flash. In other words, you can flash a partial stock without touching anything that would be flashed by your custom rom anyway.

Tested with a Chinese SGA+
This will flash all partitions that are not affected by custom roms and rooting.

Requirements:
heimdall --- (google for it. XDA's spam filter prevented me from posting the link, lol)
stock rom --- If your phone is an Indian or Chinese SGA+, choose an S7500XX rom. Mine was S7500XXNB1_S7500OXXNA1_XSK. Getting a relatively new rom is also not a bad idea.
zip, tar capable archive manager

Tutorial:
1. Unzip your stock rom.
2. Rename the xx.tar.md5 file to xx.tar.
3. Untar / extract the tar file.
4. Open a terminal and move to the extracted directory.
5. Put your SGA+ in download mode (turn your phone off and boot with Power+Volume down+Home pressed).
6. Connect your USB cable.
7. Check your partitions with heimdall (as root on Linux systems)

Code:

heimdall print-pit

This step should be optional, but it's always good to be on the safe side. Check if the partition names and image names correspond with the following table:

Code:

  partition    image
  HIDDEN      hidden.img.ext4
  APPSBL      appsbl
  OEMSBL      oemsbl
  QCSBL        qcsbl.mbn
  CFG_DATA    qcsblhd_cfgdata.mbn

8. Flash all five partitions with heimdall (as root on Linux systems)

Code:

heimdall flash --HIDDEN hidden.img.ext4 --APPSBL appsbl --OEMSBL oemsbl --QCSBL qcsbl.mbn --CFG_DATA qcsblhd_cfgdata.mbn

9. Re-flash your custom rom if necessary.

Moto X soft brick (no bootloader) topic

Seems I found a way to completely erase all data on my phone, with fastboot being the only thing I can get into. Every option in fastboot errors out. There are no partitions. Bootloader got locked somehow and I can't unlock it anymore. I have tried flashing 4.4 and 4.4.2 with RSDLite - errors. It's a big ol' mess :)

Can anyone help?

So, I have a Galaxy S4 Active (i537) ATT. I was given to me in a bootlooping state, and if I fix it I can keep the device.
What I have done to the moment:
Flashed every stock rom found in the forum with Odin (No luck on the device booting)

What the device does:
It shows the samsung splash, and restarts over and over, sometimes it doesn't even manage to get to the samsung splash.

Info on Download mode:
Product name: SGH-i537
Current Binary: Samsung official
System Status: Official
Knox kernel lock: 0xfffffffc
Knox kernel warranty void: 0xfffffffc
CSB-CONFIG-LSB: 0x30
Write protection: enable
emmc burst mode enabled

I'm new to samsung devices, so I hope someone can help me out here.

Thanks in advanced!

[Q] Hard Brick Samsung Galaxy Trend topic

Hello everyone !

It's been two week since i've hard-bricked my samsung Galaxy Trend (which is really smilar to galaxy S3).
I've looking for different solutions but i haven't found any that correspond to my trouble

Situation :
- Hard brick by trying to instal TWRP by dd command.
- No "Samsung logo" on boot
- No recovery
- No download mode
- When plugged to a macbook, it's detected as a usb modem, the kernel is able to read some data about it (Manufacturer, Product ID etc...)
- When plugged on a pc running linux, it does appear as a USB, also able to read informations about it etc....
- Does not appear as a USB device -> no /Volumes or /dev/usb...
- I'm abble to get access to the PCI directory on Linux

Solutions tried :
- Boot download mode -> No Download mode
- Find an unbrick_img to put on sd card, i don't find any debrick img or a galaxy trend, should i try to use the S3 ?
- Try to mount it as a USB device, but I'm not able to find how tou mount it

Solutions not tried :
-JTAG

Do you have any ideas ?

[Q] Gnex Brick Mount Fastbood Write Fail help :'( topic

Hi everybody,
ok I will try to make this short :)

I have an experienced user level ROM, recovery, boot, ..
My phone is BRICKED! Is it?

AT THE MOMENT:
- I get into fastboot mode
- I get into odin downloading mode
- I can't start in recovery mode
- I can't start bootloader mode
- I have a connection with a laptop (win XP, as win8.1 didnt work for me)
- The computer can communicate with the phone in fastboot mode
- The computer cant communicate with the phone in Odin mode (at the moment Odin PC SoftWare doesn't recognize the phone)
- I am sure the drivers are installed correctly now. Thanks to the guide with fully stripped drivers.

- Using different, multiple different, no thousand different methods I tried flashing the stock OS (Yakju 4.3)
- I like SkipSoft Android ToolKit (Although I used fastboot and adb commands, I find the toolkit to do the same thing..)
- I always get an Error, when the process of flashing starts.
> PC says : Error
> Phone (in fastboot mode) says: FAILWrite Fail

INTERESTING:
- While I still was able to get into Recovery, the phone couldnt mount the sdcard (=> the internal drive)
- Some of the methods I use make the phone CRASH
> means the screen stops at its position and slowly turns completely purple
- The phone power button doesnt start the phone, to get the phone doing something at all I have to trick it:
..> I plug it into the wall charger
..> I take the battery out
..> I put the battery back in
..> I wait
..> I can get into 3 routines:
^Normal starting routine (of course stuck at google start up, since no Rom is installed)
^fastboot mode (VOL + & - & Power)
^odin mode (VOL - & Power)
..> Then I can just plug the USB cable into the PC
- 2 days ago I had (every single version) of Odin PC Software recognizing the phone (phone was in Odin mode), but it also failed after trying the recommended and unrecommended settings. Ended with an error message.

HOW:
I left my phone overnight in the car (Temp: -2 deg C), while Im sure spotify and maybe other consuming apps were playing.
Next day, my phone battery was empty and I couldnt start my normal ROM. (I had Slim Rom installed)
It was stuck at the "Google" start up display.
First intentions showed that it might be more than just the Software :/
Many days and so many hours of work, research and reading in forums, I decided to take a shot and ask here.
I appreciate everything xda-members have done for me already. Though I never needed to register for my earlier questions.

Phone data:
Product Name - tuna
Variant - maguro 16gb
HW version - 9
Bootloader Version - primemd04
baseband version -
carrier info - none
serial number - -a3c208 ***

s3 mini soft brick topic

Hello I have this device and is stuck at Samsung logo . I have installed recovery and Odin recognizes the phone . when I install the official software with Odin Odin says installation complete but nothing changes to the phone .
