[Q] cyanogenmod ota auto updates not working topic
Hello everyone,
My cm auto updater hasn't been working for about the last week. It used to work fine, but just randomly stopped.
Basically what happens is I download a nightly, and then hit reboot and install like usual, but then it just boots to twrp and doesn't actually run the update. I tried putting the downloaded file on the root and flashing it manually through twrp, but when I swipe to flash the screen goes black and reboots twrp.
I tried wiping and clean installing cm, which worked fine, but the next nightly still did the same thing.
I also tried upgrading to the latest twrp, which also didn't fix it....
Any ideas? Thanks :)

[Q] Samsung Galaxy tab 4 7.0 still get updates? topic
Hello everyone!
Yesterday i've rooted my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 trough odin and twrp.
In the evening i've tried the update software function and a error showed up "The android os was modified with non-usual methods... please use Samsung Kies to update." or something like that.
Why i can't do updates anymore ? It is because the tablet is rooted? Can i fix it ? Can i make all like it was only with wipe/data factory reset? If not, what can i do?
I want to mentioj that i didn't change the rom, it still running the android that he came when i bought the tablet. I only rooted for uninstalling useless apps from samsung.

[ROM] [Project ] Pure AOSP 5.0.2_plus Google Updates (1/29/2014) Mako Beta topic
The idea behind this project is to compile a Pure AOSP ROM. The difference is I have been little by little including and testing new commits added to the for the most part unstable staging master branch code from Google AOSP that has not yet been tagged for a future Lollipop update., hence the reason for 5.0.2_Plus name. The only change added to the code that was not committed first by Google is that the ZIP can be flashed in TWRP without replacing TWRP with the Stock Recovery and that is it. At the moment because of limited testing as I do not own a Nexus 4 and all changes have been tested on the Nexus 5 felt untill a few return performance reports best to call this a beta version. With that said the same changes have made some improvments and fixed a few issues experienced by Nexus 5 users using the oficial 5.0.1 update or compiled from the AOSP android-5.0.2_r1 branch. So if start receiving comments that all has been well on the Mako build or see say 100 download without a complaint reported will remove the beta tag. I suspect this will be the case as the commits are not device related.
I honestly started the project for the Nexus 5 with the idea that maybe as a community a few developers could help work on the project so everyone had an updated version of the latest release version that included the latest fixes and had not intended on compiling for the Nexus 4. After my second release another XDA member had asked if it would be possible to make a Nexus 4 port for a friend. At that point as there had been little interest in the project by other Nexus 5 Developers I would post the Mako ota package I compiled for the user who had asked for one. I also have my own Starship Rom and am part of a new developer team so again was meant as a community project and not intended to be released as my Rom or really even released at all with the intention of being a resource for other developers to either use as the base of whatever new AOSP Rom they may intend on developing or selectively picking pieces or fixes. So going with the same idea after compiling the asked for Mako version thought why just limit the idea to just the Nexus 5 as all Nexus devices share the same code from AOSP with exception of needing to add a different set of propriety vendor blobs and choosing a different lunch command for building. So the same goes as intended for the Nexus 5. If any Nexus 4 developers would be interested in joining in on the project Just let me know and I will grant full access to the Github account and create a new branch so we can test and insure the master branch is always %100 stable if it is going to be used by other Nexus developers..

[Q] question on 4.4.4, OTA updates and Samsung Gear2 topic
Hello.
I was merrily using my Samsung note 3 and my gear 2 over on Page Plus, and then I decided to switch that combo to be my main phone setup because I liked it so much. I moved the phone to my Verizon plan instead of moving the number to my Page Plus account, and that my be my undoing...
My phone received an update to 4.4.4 and I, being new to android, downloaded it. Now my battery life is horrible, and my very favorite app for the Gear 2 (Pattern Dialer) doesn't work. (now it dials the call, but the call connects through the phone, instead of through the watch)
So- what are my options here? I gather that I can't go back now that I accepted the poison, er-update. Is that true?
I am planning on doing a hard reset to see if that improves the battery life, and uninstalling Skype. Is there anything else I can do?
I sent an e-mail to the developer of Pattern Dialer, do you think is is possible to fix that problem?
And last, but not least- If the phone were to somehow to get back to 4.3, how do I block OTA updates in the future?
So super frustrated that Verizon can break my phone! I was so happy before! :crying:
Thanks so much for your help.

Did RUU to unlocked version, got a few updates but can't get lollipop topic
So I did all the things, S-OFF, unlocked bootloader, changed my SID and MID, flashed the RUU and I was on 4.4.2. I updated like 4 times now I'm on 4.4.4.
Since I wasn't sure how root would work with lollipop (or if it even does at this point) I decided this was a good time to use titanium backup to restore my apps. TiBu asked me if I wanted to restore my old Android ID, so I did and began happily restoring my apps.
Now I get the OTA and I have an error, but I'm not sure what it pertains to or if it's fault of what I did with TiBu when it asked to restore my Android ID or not. This is the error I get:
I've also redownloaded it about 3 times now to no avail. I don't know why it says it found 4.4.2... because if I go into settings->about I find android version is "4.4.4"
My other suspicion as to what may have caused this is the recovery, but I'm not sure. I flashed TWRP so I could gain root, then I flashed a stock recovery I found on XDA back onto my device.
So to sum it up, the only 2 out of ordinary things I did were:
Here's my MID/SID:
There is also no mention of 4.4.2 in my build.prop file. I have this:

One M8 SU Binary updates topic
Before I begin, I'm sorry for posting yet another thread like this, but I've looked all over and can't find a solution.
So today I unlocked my boot-loader and rooted my M8. I then added TWRP and flashed Android Revolution HD 32.3, which runs 5.01 lollipop.
When using SU I found I needed to update the binary, I tried pressing normal and it was not successful, even after several reboots. I also tried the TWRP/CWM method, it just froze the app and didn't even boot into recovery.
I'm not sure what to do. Root seems to be working, I only noticed this when trying to gain S-off with Sunshine.
Please help :)
Many Thanks
