So I've been lurking here since I got my Nexus 4 (over two years ago) to find answers to my problems and usually I've been able to find an answer.

Now, I think my trusty Nexus 4 has finally given up the ghost. I powered it off Thursday night and when I went to power it on Friday morning, I got nothing. It had over 50% battery when I turned it off, so I don't think it's the battery. I've tried to boot it just about every way I can find, but nothing. It's been plugged in most of the weekend and still nothing.

So I'm thinking it's time to start looking for a new phone :( , what do you all think? If anyone thinks they've got a way to get it to boot up, just let me know, I'll give it a shot.

[Q] [Display Bricked] - Want to make a backup topic

Hey there,

My LG D802 32GB just fall out of my car and the complete Display is bricked (I think Digitizer is also harmed) and I am not able to touch anywhere.

I know a lot about fastboot, adb and so on. But I do not really know much about this device, since I hadn't got the time to do so, too busy with other stuff. Unfortunately I disabled USB debugging a week ago after I finished some development stuff. And I just want to make a new backup (last one was a few weeks ago :( ) of my data before I try to repair anything or buy a new one.

I do not know why, but I cannot enter Stock Recovery (just keeps rebooting), Download Mode is working. Phone is also booting normally, just no way my fingers are recognized.
I tried to enter Recovery Mode (stock), to perhaps have adb access (don't know if it is so on d802), with Volume Down+Power, release when Logo appears and then press again, USB Cable was connected. I know i entered it once after buying this phone, but now I am not able to do so. Are there any special drivers which are perhaps missing (installed them with PC Suite, all upgrades were done with it, cause I do not like OTAs for several personal reasons).

Hello everyone!

Today I decided to change from Dalvik to ART. Phone restarted couple of times and was always stuck on "Android is upgrading". When it finally came to the unlock screen I unlocked it and then I got some error (Everytime I unlocked it). So that happened every time after I rebooted my phone. And after some time I think my battery went to 0% and I had to connect it and then I couldn't even get to the locked screen. Phone got stuck after Motorola animation and black blank screen appears.

I looked online to see what's the problem and saw that many people fixed this with flasing ROM, so I decided to do it myself. I unlocked the bootloader and tried to do some recovery with erasing cache and nothing works. I downloaded some ROMs includiding stock 4.4.4 and installed in command prompt with some fastboot commands like this:

Everything went smoothly but still when I turned on my phone it was still stuck at blank screen after animation.

I saw many other ways to do it including (ADB) but I'm noob at all this and tried something but I'm not sure which one to do cause there is so many guides.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

on boot i get encryption unsuccessful. reset button doesn't seem to work.
in ap fastboot i cannot flash through rsd lite or moto-fastboot flash command or mfastboot flash command.
through fastboot commands i get error: remote.
through rsd lite i get error: phone returned fail.
i have installed proper drivers and have much battery.
rsd lite recognizes phone as fastboot CDMA_SPYDER S

[Q] Bricked Amazon HDX 7 (3rd Gen) topic

Hi everyone,

I bought HDX 7 just 2 months ago. I was on 4.5.2 and last week i requested amazon to downgrade my device and they allowed me to downgrade to 3.2.8. Then I rooted it using Towelroot and used Safestrap bootloader to install Nexus 2.0.3 ( For Kindle Device).After completion of Installation of Nexus ROM (ZIP file) from safestrap, device restarted and just hanged on some NEXUS logo and could not start up. But after some manual force restarts the safestrap was replaced by normal Kindle bootloader and finally NEXUS 2.0.3 was able to load. But i could not use some Google apps therefore In order to install Gapps I tried to flash TWRP 2.3.3.0 with Flashify i bricked the device. The device just hangs on KINDLE FIRE logo and dont show any response to PC and cant be able to move in Fastboot mode or bootloader mode.
Is there any thing i could do at this moment or should i ask amazon for replacement?

Help- stuck at sony logo, possibly bricked topic

Hi, i have a Z ultra, and I had installed cm 12 but was tired of cyanogen recovery, so I used an app called rashr to try and flash TWRP, however the device got stuck at the sony logo and is unable to open a recovery, I have an unlocked bootloader and can access fastboot mode, and I tried to flash cwm using the boot.img from a cm11 build in fastboot , however It still wont get into recovery, I know about the hard reset points if you popen the device, however I would like to fix it without opening it!

Bricked; cannot get into fastboot topic

So today I set about unlocking the bootloader and rooting my Moto X 2014 Pure Edition XT1095.

Unlocking the bootloader went just fine. Then I went to root it. I booted the pure2014sb.img but it didn't work. The phone would just hang on the Motorola logo. Then I read somebody later said that doesn't work on lollipop, so I booted the CF-Auto-Root-victara-victaratmo-xt1095.img instead. That showed me the rooting status page thing before it rebooted, and then rebooted again, but when it fired up after that it was still hanging on the Motorola logo.

Now the phone will not even hang on the logo, it gets to the animated moto logo part and then turns off half way through. I cannot get back into fastboot state either. It just doesn't respond to power + vol down at all.

Bricked Phone topic

I rooted my Y300-0100 Huawei Phone using this program called Root Genius, I did all the instructions carefully and it began rooting my phone. In the process of rooting my phone, my phone restarted the program says that it is normal to restart so I leave it be. It was done and the moment I turn on my phone it worked there was this new app called KingUser which you cannot delete. I began installing apps like RAM Optimizer then I found this app called RAM Expander by ROEHSOFT, I installed it and press the Optimal button and ticked something with the word Auto on it. Then flicked the Swap switch. It didn't work so I thought you need to restart your phone so I did. It showed the normal behavior when booting it up then after 1 scene, boom blue screen. The only way to off it is to remove the battery so I did. Researched about this still cant find aid

LG G2 (AT&T D800) bricked itself topic

So there I was, browsing the Slick Deals app, when the phone locked up, turned off, and now it won't do crap. Decent charge on the battery at the time, ~90%. Stock ROM and rooted for over a year with no issues to speak of. I got the phone on day 1 (Sept 2013?) I'd taken care of this phone better than any previous to it. Always in a protective case, always with a screen protector. Never dropped, never left in a car or in the sun. My plan was to go 3 years with this one I liked it so much. Well so much for that idea.

If I hold down the power button long enough I can get it to boot some of the time. Recovery mode and download mode are not options, just won't do it. It did the whole 15 drives thing when plugged into USB once, but there is no consistency to it. I read several threads on how to unbrick the phone, but the whole Linux install and img files are little over my head to try.

I went ahead and ordered a new battery for it, just in case that's what's causing the issue. I was told if a cell in the battery flips out it can cause the phone not to work properly. At one point I had the phone charging while off and could see the charging screen. It got to 95% and never any higher. Managed to boot the phone for 30 seconds then it shut off again. I quit messing with it after that.

Could it be just a battery gone rouge all of a sudden, or do I have bigger problems? I hate to abandon this phone, but I don't want to spend any more money on it to fix it either. I bought a used Nexus 5 off a friend for a song to get back up and running with my SIM card, so I have time now to work on the G2. If I can resurrect it, the Nexus will serve as a nice backup phone in case of future disasters.

A while ago my phone started to restart itself for no good reason. Then it got worse and it starts randomly resetting itself (factory reset). To solve this issue I tried to do a manual factory reset myself, and the problem persisted.

I can deal with these random restarts, but then one day as it restarts it got stuck at the "Samsung Galaxy S3" screen. I tried to do another factory reset in CWM and clear the cache, but it says "E:\cache\...." isn't mounted. As I investigate further it seems the reason that it can't boot might be because the memory is not mounted I guess?

I can boot into Download mode and CWM perfectly fine, so I decided to try to flash the Stock Recovery and Stock ROM through Odin. Connection between Odin and the phone was set up fine, but then it stopped at this error message "Complete(Write) operation failed." Flashing either stock rom and recovery yields the same error . It simply can't write to the memory it seems.

Now I'm stuck at this start screen. I've heard flashing a PIT file might be able to fix it, but I have no idea what that is.

Is the phone bricked? How do I fix this? Should I use the Rescue Firmware in this post? It would be great if anyone can help me since I have been asking for help on other forums but got absolutely no response...

[Q] Help needed. Bricked LG G2, when google didn't help! topic

Good day fellow XDA users!

I've been playing with my old LG G2, and as you could have guessed - bricked it (while trying to instal Android L ROM) :)

The problem: The phone is not booting further the LG logo.

I've tried:
1. Doing a hard-reset, didn't work. After getting to the hard-reset screen - I double-confirm the reset and then nothing happens (waited for about an hour and a half).
2. Entering download-mode, didn't work. It shows the "download mode" logo but nothing happens.
3. Connecting to PC, fast-boot, adb of LG Tool can't "see" the device.

Any suggestions?

Hi guys.

I had (past tense) a rooted HTC One M8 with stock kitkat rom on it. Wanted to OTA update to Lollipop - couldnt because of CMW recovery mod. So i've tried to get a stock recovery rom on, via extraction from the OTA zip file. Firmware.zip wasnt a valid zip file, so I scoured the internet for a valid stock rom zip to apply. FOund "M8.GPE.Recovery.img" which I tried to apply via adb/fastboot. Seemed to work - it booted, then I tried to OTA update again. But not it doesnt boot at all! Its stuck on a black screen with an android lying down - red exclamation mark/triangle - all it says is "Error!". Cant reach it via fastboot (just says waiting for device) - and the device doesnt respond to me pressing the powerbutton...

Any clues as to what I can try?

Don't know how it happened,really don't have a clue.
Phone connects as [B]Zeus Flash Device and I also can't get it into recovery.I turn it on,nothing.Plug it in the PC ,gives the sound like I plugged in a USB not the phone! The phone itself looks dead.I turn it on, nothing.No led,No vibrations.Tried hard reset,PC Companion While Flashtool was closed And Same way around.Nothing works! Went to a "person who fixes them" and they say they Can't do anything(And I think he has no idea what's he even doing whatsoever) .

i changed a boot animation in romtoolboxpro from 800x800 to 1080x1920 and installed to my device, clicked the preview option and it wroked but when i rebooted i was left with an error message in place of my recovery, and i cannot boot up the phone normally. or at all for that matter. i can go into fastboot&rescue mode, and it shows that my bootloader is still unlocked but i have no way to flash the recovery img to my system, so my phone is currently a brick. HELP!!!

[Q] D6603 - Bricked phone - access to TWRP still present - no backup topic

Did the incredibly stupid thing and wiped my phone completely without having a backup.

Flashtool and D6603_23.0.1.A.5.77_Customized_DE.ftf doesn't help - Flashtool tells me to hold the "back" button while inserting the usb cable. Done the correct thing (vol down + insert usb cable) - but to no avail.

Possible brick here. Got error 7 in cwm then did factory reset and cant boot anymore to cwm using keyboard.. Its just stuck on amazon logo.

I did root devices and install recoveries sometimes factory reset helped not in this case lol.

Any tips or this ftv is done ?

NEXUS6 losing baseband, Soft Bricked topic

It happened before the day before yesterday. It was OK before I went to bed. When I walked out of the door the day next, my mobile signals were out. I couldn't get it back after various times of restart, take sim card in and out.

After I contacted the seller, he told me to check the baseband. That was the time I knew that the baseband is lost. I have never experienced this kinda problem before. The seller told me to flash the OFFICIAL ROM, and see if it will bring the baseband back. I followed his advice and did some research online, flashed my NEXUS6. Flashing was quite straight forward, however the problem still persists.

Any kind of help is welcome!

Downloaded a ROM (Sensation). Flashed it, got to the reboot, hit reboot and the phone went completely black! Nothing, can't get to DL Mode. No power, no lights, sound nothing....just black screen. Any ideas?
