[Q] Hard Brick fastboot issues topic

Ok so here's what happened.

Couple days ago I mistakenly selected "install now" while attempting to postpone the OTA on my VS980. Phone was rooted on stock ROM via stump root and I had not installed a custom recovery yet.

Phone then would only show the LG screen and display an error. No download mode or recovery.

So I utilized a VM running Ubuntu and pushed the sdl1, aboot, rpm, tz and TWRP 2.7 to the phone.

upon restart of the phone It would only start up into fastboot mode. The only other thing it would do is bring up the hardware key mode ( done by pressing vol-, pwr, vol+ at the same time)
Phone would report two errors upon being plugged into the computer and the computer only recognizes the phone as an adb device in device manager

"EP1/out FAIL nfo=40pg0=f910700"
"usb_read() transaction failed"

So I installed the adb on windows and in terminal on Ubuntu. I also installed the unified LG drivers, SDK and the google USB drivers. I now get the same error messages but the fastboot mode now constantly resets.

here is what it goes through
"fastboot mode started"
"reset"
"portcharge"
"fastboot: processing commands"
"reset"
"EP1/out FAIL nfo=40pg0=f910700"
"portcharge"
"usb_read() transaction failed"
"fastboot: oops!"
"fastboot: processing commands"
"reset"
"EP1/out FAIL nfo=40pg0=f910700"
"portcharge"
"usb_read() transaction failed"
"fastboot: oops!"
"fastboot: processing commands"

this goes on and on....

any ideas on where to go from here?

[Q] Help: Fastboot Mode Started topic

Hello Everyone,
I recently purchased a Sprint LG G3 (LS990) about 2 months ago. I wanted to do a different ROM for my phone. I had to downgrade the the ZV6 to the ZV4. All is well and the ZV4 was up and running. I then wanted to flash the Chupa cups rom and was unaware that it was not for my model.

I used the flashtool kit and it got to about 80% and error occurred. I was able to return to the download mode and thought that i should just run it again. I ran it again with the same dll and tot for the LS990 and it was telling me that my model number did not match. It changed it to LG D855. So I did some research and found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=934. I tried it and it did not work. It got to about 85%. I used the flash dll for the lgd855 and the ls990 tot.

So again i tried to go to download mode but this time around it will not go into download mode. As I hold the volume up button and plugging the usb to the phone, the phone will show the LG logo and then it will change to the icon "download mode" and then go to this screen:

[40690] Fastboot Mode Started
[40780]---reset--
[40780]---portcharge---
[40990] fasboot: processing comands

I've tried again to run the flash but this time around, in the device manager under ports, the phone is not found. I tried using adb to list devices and it cannot be found as well. I spent a good 2 days not looking for answers but have not found them. If i could go back and get to download mode i can flash a different rom but my problem would be that it thinks my phone is the LGd855 but my phone is the LS990.

So what are my chances of ever getting my phone back together? Should i give up and go back to best buy and try to get another phone and if so will they know if i tried changing the rom and that voids any warranty? Help what should i do at this point?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone in advance!

Bricked; cannot get into fastboot topic

So today I set about unlocking the bootloader and rooting my Moto X 2014 Pure Edition XT1095.

Unlocking the bootloader went just fine. Then I went to root it. I booted the pure2014sb.img but it didn't work. The phone would just hang on the Motorola logo. Then I read somebody later said that doesn't work on lollipop, so I booted the CF-Auto-Root-victara-victaratmo-xt1095.img instead. That showed me the rooting status page thing before it rebooted, and then rebooted again, but when it fired up after that it was still hanging on the Motorola logo.

Then I attempted this http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...7#post56928477

Now the phone will not even hang on the logo, it gets to the animated moto logo part and then turns off half way through. I cannot get back into fastboot state either. It just doesn't respond to power + vol down at all.

Help!

Can't boot recovery via fastboot topic

I have an AT&T HTC One that was converted a Developer Edition, so it is S-OFF and has an unlocked bootloader, otherwise it is running completely stock non-rooted Lollipop firmware. I want to flash a custom recovery, but the safer side of my mind always tests it by doing "fastboot boot recovery.img" first before flashing it. The problem is on this phone it will load, I can see the green bar on the side of the Hboot screen go up, and fastboot says it sent the file successfully, but it just locks up and does nothing, I have to long-press power for 15 seconds or so to get it to shutdown to get it to respond again.

I have tried several versions of TWRP from here: http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/m7 and all have the same results. I am very familiar with using fastboot and adb, so I don't think I am doing anything wrong, but I am scared to flash the recovery image if I can't boot it.

Any ideas?

[Q] Can't flash with fastboot topic

Hi everyone,

i rooted my z1c, backuped TA, unlocked bootloader and recovered TA. The firmware is .157 since it arrived me.

But everytime i try to flash a kernel or recovery in fastboot i gives mit this error message.
(flashing kernel for example)

Code:

./fastboot flash boot ../../LS-KK-MileStone-3.2-amami/boot.img
sending 'boot' (11352 KB)...
OKAY [  0.358s]
writing 'boot'...
FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
finished. total time: 0.361s

I am on archlinux with newest android sdk.
Is there something wrong with recoverying the TA partion after unlock? Or needs fastboot more parameters?
I banged my head for this since hours... Got someone a idea.

fastboot cable question. topic

Hi, everywhere I look it says you need a fastboot/factory cable to install the second bootloader, so you can install custom recovery and flash rooted/ custom roms.

My question is why am I reading posts from people saying they need to make a fastboot cable to unbrick there kindle fire2?

If you need a fastboot cable to mod, how have these people bricked there kf2 in the first place? Have I missed something?

I have done my research and I know how to make the fastboot cable and even have a Samsung cable just laying around winking at me so its just a matter of time before I take a sharp knife and soldering iron to it but just wanted to find out how people have come to brick a kf2 without the cable if its essential to do anything.

Thanks, Steve.

fastboot not finding Nexus 7 Flo topic

Hi

Windows 8.1 fresh install.
Added Minimal ADB & Fastboot and Google USB Drivers.

Nexus 5 is detected by ADB & Fastboot and works fine using same cable and Windows 8.1 machine.

Nexus 7 2013 is detected by ADB, but not by fastboot.
When I plug the 7 in when booted into bootloader, Windows plays the connected, then disconnected sounds.
Nothing appears in device manager so I can't update the driver.
Connect the 7 to my other PC and it works fine.

Any ideas how I can get the 7 detected correctly in fastboot ?

Thanks

Can I perform a backup using fastboot? topic

My phone randomly decided to bootloop today and the only thing I can get to is fastboot.

I'm about to flash the stock 5.0.1 image to it and see if it boots, but we'll see.

In the meantime, can I backup using fastboot? I can't even get into recovery.

[Q] OnePlus One not booting, no fastboot or recovery. Please help! topic

I tried to boot my oneplus but after 15-20 seconds my phone just vibrates on pressing the power button, if I keep the power button pressed, it does so every 10-15 seconds later.
I tried pressing volup and power key for getting into fastboot mode but it doesn't boot
similar thing for recovery, I had twrp installed.
The phone isn't getting detected in the PC either (i use a windows 8 system, and it has the proper drivers which are needed by the phone)
I have no idea what I should do, I've tried to reset the battery cycle (pressing power for every 20seconds for 5 times) it doesn't seem to help anyway.
Any sort of help would be appreciated, my oneplus one is just a month old.

PS: this happened after i tried to flash a colorOS rom

Fastboot USB not working, any fix? topic

Hello everyone,

I have seem similar threads about this happening to windows 8 users, but my case is slightly different. as of yesterday my fastboot was working perfectly fine, until I tried to flash this RUU ( I was trying to downgrade my OS so I could use rumrunner to unlock my device), when I tried to flash the RUU I heard the alert message from windows that my phone was disconnected. ever since my pc never recognizes my phone while in bootloader, although it works perfectly fine while on the system.

In the devices manager MyHTC drivers show with the yellow triangle and the errorcode 10 (failed to start devices)
going to leave the links for the screenshots
http://puu.sh/frZtR/1df83dd309.png
http://puu.sh/frZEZ/ee866ea14c.png

this is the information displayed on my bootloader

RELOCKED
M7_WLV PVT SHIP S-OFF RH
CID-VZW__001
HBOOT-1.54.0000
RADIO-1.13.41.0421
OpenDSP-V32.120.274.0909
OS-4.10.605.3 (1.10.605.10) This part is displayed in red in the boot loader.
eMMC-boot 248MB

here is what I have tried already.
Install the usb 3.0 windows update( said already had it, plus this was working before so doubt it is the problem)
flash RUU.exe from here
Install and reinstall HTC drivers (multiple times)
restart computer
try different usb ports/cables

and I think this is all I have tried, will keep trying more stuff and update the post with information, has anybody encountered a similar problem or knows a fix?

Thanks in advance

Cannot enter fastboot mode topic

So, recently my mum's Neo L had issues with the digitizer so I went ahead and ordered a new one online to replace it for her, after the replacement, the phone does not boot and has the led blinking red if I plug it to the wall, plugging it into my pc makes the "usb device not recognized" message pop up, tried entering fastboot mode to flash with flashtool by holding down search and plugging in the usb cable and its the same story, ideas?

Thanks :D

adb commands not working in fastboot mode. Is it normal? topic

I was trying to flash a custom ROM on my moto g xt1033. I used choosing the zip from USB otg after wiping and formatting everyrhing but. It flashed but a black screen came instead of cm logo and I was stuck at welcome to cm screen without touchscreen working. http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto...4#post58587594

Then I tried side loading or pushing method. But problem is adb commands are not working in fastboot mode. They are working when phone is switched on. (Adb devices show serial number and device in normal mode) Fastboot commands are working fine in fastboot mode but not adb. When I type adb devices in fastboot mode there is nothing after list of device attached. So adb push or adb side load give me waiting for device or device not found result. Is it normal. Earlier I have latest Motorola device manager and latest android SDK. Tried uninstalling and installing them, tried changing USB ports, tried rebooting the phone and restarting windows pc several times but still no luck.!!

fastboot oem lock topic

So I decided to lock the bootloader since I will be traveling, but I thought locking will not wipe the device, is there a bug on NEXUS 6 because I locked it and as soon as I reboot the device it went into erasing the device and started in the welcome screen.

I tried to search the forums and google but all I can find was that the device will not erase anything when you do the fastboot oem lock.

[Q] Bricked LG G2 in fastboot topic

Hi,
I'm in serious troubles with my LG G2 (D802) Europe version (bought in Italy): after flashing a custom ROM, I pressed on "reboot" button of the recovery and the phone rebooted with a totally black screen and a white text at the upper left corner

"[1660] Fastboot mode started".

If I press on the power button for a while, it restarts and goes back to the same screen. If I press power button *and* volume up, the same. The same by pressing with volume down or pressing all the buttons.

If I connect to the PC it writes on the screen 5 more lines:
[509280] -- reset --
[509290] -- portcharge --
[513820] -- reset --
[513830] -- portcharge --
[513900] fastboot: processing commands

I read on Internet that a similar issue has been solved by doing:

fastboot erase laf
fastboot flash laf laf.img
fastboot reboot

but in my case after the reboot the screen goes back to the "Fastboot mode started". BTW, "fastboot devices" fires out:

???????????? fastboot

but fastboot can still do something on the phone, like flashing the laf, the boot, the recovery... in fact I flashed aboot, boot, recovery, laf but after reboot the phone was still stuck.

Is the devices completely lost or there's something I can do to recover it ?

thanks !

[Q] Ascend P6-U06 will not fastboot topic

Hello everyone,

My goal is to get the P6 to CM11, but have run into a snag with the fastboot.

The phone is from North America on Wind Mobile, JB 4.2.x and B116. From my understanding I needed to get the phone to at least KK 4.4.x before I could proceed.

Based on this thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/asce...-b116-t2942162, I proceeded to upgrade to JB B132 and then KK 510.

I moved onto the CM11 instructs to install TWRP following instructions from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2534420.

The first step was to make the the phone was unlocked which I used these instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2666116.

I downloaded adroid-SDK manager, installed A SDK Platform Tools Rev. 20. Drivers are updated with HiSuite and the phone is detected by my PC.

This is where I am stuck~~~
When I try to fastboot/bootloader with the command line adb reboot bootloader. The phone reboot, but stays at the Huawei Ascend boot screen, nothing else loads on the screen. When I try to enter the command "fastboot oem unlock UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" it states "waiting for device"

When I have a USB plugged in and I try to manually restarting the phone and holding down vol down+power for about 10 seconds. This just locks the phone up at the Huawei Ascend screen as well.

When I boot the phone up and press the vol+ and vol- it takes me to update screen and says the following:
ro.build.versopm/release = 4.4.2
ro.product.name = URGE
Current build version release is not 4.2, dont need more.
HUAWEI SDCARD&USB AGENT VERSION 2.0
The phone is secureboot phone.
This phone is LOCK state.

I've tried fastbooting/bootloader from different on different versions as well to see if that has an affect. Tried it on B510 and B512 to no avail. I was planning to keep trying with B606, B607, B634, and B635. but figured I'll post here first.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated! Also the phone is is debug mode through all of this.

Soft bricked OPO - Stuck in Fastboot mode topic

Hi. I dropped by OPO recently and had to replace the screen + digitizer myself. After doing it, i decided to wipe my phone and re-install Android again. I did a factory reset, flashed a custom rom, gapps and a kernel and i am not able to boot into the OS. When I reboot the device or power it on, I always end up in the Fastboot mode. I am able to get into recovery, but no matter what I flash, whenever I hit reboot into system after flashing, the phone goes back to Fastboot mode.

When in Fastboot mode, I'm able to flash stock images of 44S , but any reboot doesn't take me to Android, it keeps pushing me back to Fashboot. Flashed multiple TWRP versions, tried restoring to 44S/38R through fastboot, but none of them work. Any restart takes the phone back to Fastboot. Any ideas on how this could be fixed?

Any help is much appreciated.

[Q] fastboot permissions denied topic

Hello. I have a HTC one M8 wich i bought from THREE UK. After rooting it and trying various roms, I found I prefered the HTC stock rom.

So decided to change it to a Dev Edition. Everything was going well untill i tried to update software after succesfully completing the process. It kept saying my phone had been modified so for my own saftey could not complete the process.

After some googling i found i had not Changed the MID. only the CID. After atempting many diferent methods of changing the MID i have somehow managed the change the permission of my phone in fastboot. It keeps saying Permission denied. When the phone is connected in the rom, it sees it in ADB.

I can put files on with windows. But when i reboot into fastboot, it stops seeing it, My phone is now stuck on Andriod 4.2.2. the software stays on the notification bar, I cant change rom or root,or flash recovery.

Im stuck. Please help.
