Why do I still have a dalvik cache on lollipop? topic

Hi all,

Just looking at my free storage and noticed I still have a dalvik cache with over 2gb of space being used as can be seen in the screenshot below?

Can anyone she'd any light as to why this is still there? I'm pretty sure I did a full wipe before using to lollipop so don't know why I can see it. Think I may do a full wipe again and install a custom Rom (currently using stock).

[Q] D6603 - Bricked phone - access to TWRP still present - no backup topic

Hi.

Did the incredibly stupid thing and wiped my phone completely without having a backup.

Flashtool and D6603_23.0.1.A.5.77_Customized_DE.ftf doesn't help - Flashtool tells me to hold the "back" button while inserting the usb cable. Done the correct thing (vol down + insert usb cable) - but to no avail.

I've seen recently that this tab is still selling in a lot of places, either online or in stores. And the price tag is on average above 0. It's almost 3 years old, which is not very common for an electronic's life cycle. Why?

[HELP] UnRooted S5 Still Wont Update topic

I recently rooted my phone yesterday actually with towelroot by just flashing to the ncg kernel stock then rooting then back up to the NK2 kernel stock. My phone wont update to the new Lolipop update with root so i unrooted by simpily using the SU app and it claims my phone is unrooted but when i try to update the OTA it downloads and reboots my phone syas its ready to install then it says no changes were made cannot install update at this time or something like that.

I still have 4.3 installed on my note 3 and since its really starting to get a lil old, I was wondering if its finally worth upgrading?

I mean I customized this thing so hard with hand selected debloating of 99% of the system apps that are just spyware/crapware to me, including all google apps except playstore and the required additional apks. Also using xposed to tweak everything to my needs like custom button configs and visual tweaks etc pp..

From what I've seen and read so far things got more difficult in Kitkat than before. Like Apps not beeing able to fully use SD-Card or problems with root etc.. so is there anything really positive that Kitkat or Lollipop added?

Either the stock versions or aosp based?

Would be cool to hear some opinions.

And what about performance? On my 4.3 Rom with custom kernel @ 2225mhz i get like 35-37k antutu score as well. How are your guys' scores nowadays with recent roms and similar clock?

Hello everyone,
i own a z ultra ever since it was released screen even broke and i was without it for months till i fixed it. Now that i got it back 2 months ago i been trying every single rom out there but i always have a problem.

monxdified is outdated and one time it didnt want to boot no more so i changed to Stone HD3 which random restarts/freezes its slow when i run my games compared to how monxdified was. Then we have the Dirty Unicorn and Cyanhacker both 2 great roms like monx and stone but completely different also both with bugs like for example no hd playback or screen too dark issues/bluetooth issues.

Now im really stuck and idk what to do im looking for a stable rom but everytime there is something that just messes up with me.

So my actual question is which rom do you guys use for daily use? Like listening to music/heavy gaming/reading/browsing/calling ofcourse atm im again back to Stone HD3 experiencing the random reboots but i have no idea where to go to this time.

Hey guys. I know for sure there is another thread about a similar problem but the biggest problem I'm having is figuring out what to do next, or better yet, what did I even mess up?
I made a thread a couple days ago here asking about the LTE option on my phone and how there was none. It's an Intl' phone and therefore I guess doesn't work on Canadian LTE networks.

Before we start, I'm using TWRP 2.7.0.0 . My phone is the UAE version of the D802, which is the D80220C. My current custom rom is Liquidsmooth MS3.2 .

So I found a list of modems and flashed the one for Bell. It was for the D803, but the thread I was looking at said it was cross-compatible so I assumed that meant it's okay for me to flash it on my phone.
Even so, I backed up my EFS partitions just to be 100% sure. I even used the .zip file that automatically backs up the current modem files. So I thought there was definitely a way out if it didn't work.

I will give you the full story of what was done and maybe I can get some guidance on maybe something I did wrong.

1) I flashed the D803 Bell modem.
2) Reboot to system, LS3.2 hangs on start up. Tried a hard restart to see if it wasn't a fluke. Nothing. Still hanging.
3) Figured the EFS files were toast, so I ran the restore .zip for my EFS. Reboot, and still hanging.
4) Said WTF? and restored my first stable rooted stock rom. It booted into the rom fine, but when it got to the lock screen I saw the "Service Disabled" and the phone quickly crashed.
5) Didn't even attempt to restart on that rom. So I tried a couple terminal commands to copy the modems1.img and modemst2.img files to corresponding partitions. Copied both just fine, but no change. Still screwing up.

So, this is where I am so far. I am in the process of downloading the D80220C UAE .kdz file so I can try to flash that one first. If that doesn't work, I'm really at a loss.

When I read into this some more, all I see is people who have totally wiped their EFS files and having to spend a whole bunch of time using a bunch of different programs to get in an recover the IMEI number.

Yesterday i've rooted my Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 trough odin and twrp.
In the evening i've tried the update software function and a error showed up "The android os was modified with non-usual methods... please use Samsung Kies to update." or something like that.

Why i can't do updates anymore ? It is because the tablet is rooted? Can i fix it ? Can i make all like it was only with wipe/data factory reset? If not, what can i do?

I want to mentioj that i didn't change the rom, it still running the android that he came when i bought the tablet. I only rooted for uninstalling useless apps from samsung.

I was wondering because that is what I had been using up until today. Just rooted and installed CM11 1/19. I was playing around with their stock launcher and finding that there are somethings I didn't like, almost thinking of going back to my old one, but that's it - it's old. As I played, I found that CM's laucher doesn't seem to do all that I'd like it to, do I'll probably switch to nova or another one.
Also, I have the dark theme selected for the messaging app, but it still comes out light. any ideas as to why that might be? I"ve started to play with some styles that will change that, but it also changes other things that i don't like enough to keep it. Just have to keep looking and playing.

So...after 4 months with the Verizon version, I'm making what I call a "lateral"transfer to the LG G2. Specs are becoming moot. The G2 offers a lot, the battery being a big factor.

I'm looking to buy the phone. My main concern is the shutting down. I found a lot of people saying that the phones shutdowns automatically in deep sleep or in some apps. The battery life is not a big concern for me, but can you tell me if it can last a day of moderate use. Facebook , music and 2 hours of videos.And the overheating. Is it a big problem?

After flashing rom.. it still thinks it's not rooted topic

I am S-OFF and using latest version of Android Revolution HD (22.2) after having issues with trying to get lollipop, I revert back to Kit Kat. Everything is working fine, except when I'm trying to use SuperSu or Xmodule, I get an error stating 'there is no SU binary installed...' or that my phone is not rooted (it is). Anyone know why I would get this error?

Thought I Did Everything Right, But Update Still Fails (err 0x111708) topic

Hello,

Just started getting an OTA notification a few days ago (like around Jan 15… ?). But I get the err: 0x01117008 every time.

I am rooted, but just stock. No custom ROMs ever. No custom recovery, no TWRP or anything. All previously frozen apps have been unfrozen/defrosted with Titanium Backup. no modifications other than the rooting. Only app that has anything to do with the system is busybox pro. No theming or shell apps.

Tried temp unroot and OTA Survival/Survival Mode in supersu and superuser apps.
Yet when I go to Settings > About Phone >> Status, it says "Rooted" under root status.

I don't want to flash stock. The phone is already stock.

Anyone have any ideas?

The wife wants to update to new phone. Can the verizon LG G3 as of right now 01-25-15, be rooted and bootloader unlocked or is a lost cause being verizon? Thanks for any tips.

Accidentally wiped system but still can boot into recovery. topic

I was being careless when flashing a CM12 ROM and accidentally went and wiped my whole phone including the ROM that was already on it. So now when I turn my phone on it just shows the Samsung Logo with the CyanogenMod Robot and then just goes straight into recovery. But since I can still boot into TWRP means that there still may be hope yet. However when looking on XDA about people who had done this as well you have to be able to plug your phone into your computer and flash the factory ROM on your phone. I cannot do this because the USB port on my S3 is not working and hasn't been working for a while now so I cannot use odin to flash a ROM.

The only way I could possibly do anything is if I take the microSD card and put something on it and do something with that.

Is there any hope for me or will I just have to brave using an old iPhone 4 until my upgrade comes up in May?

I have tried to contact the Dev, but still no response as of two days ago. Can someone please advise me on a solution to my ongoing problem? [Q] what 3rd party lockscreen still alows the express me panel to show? topic

i don't like the stock lockscreen because it is very limited as far as customization is concerned. I like a picture and a clock and notifications off to the side or where ever i want to place them. The problem is that I cant move the time/clock around so that I see the full wall paper i am using for the lockscreen or a if I do like a 3rd party lockscreen, when i activate it the lockscreen does not allow the express me panel to show on the edge when the screen is locked.

So my question is does anyone use a 3rd party locscreen that is very customizable, replaces the stock lockscreen, has pin or gesture unlocking and does not, as a redundant measure, have the stock lockscreen runing underneath it. Right now i am using Next lockscreen and it lays ontop of the stock. It has no pin or gesture to unlock it to go straight to my home screen. Therefore, i have to swipe out of it, then the stock is underneath with the pin authorization. A double move. But this is the only way my expreess me panel stays active. Any suggestions? [Q] Help with imei null/baseband unknown (I have read so much but still stuck) topic

I don't know why this happened. My phone is rooted but just randomly stopped working. It wasn't because of any flash. All I had done was root it about 5 months prior and was still on stock firmware. But now I have no signal. Here is what I have done.

1. Bought new sim board.
2. Flash the parambin file.
3. Tried to the qpst method to use nv reader to manually enter my imei. But the drivers won't work. Always has an ! point next to devices in device manager. Read, could be because I have the international version.
4. Tried flashing 2-3 other modems.
5. Updated to 4.4.4
6. Flash a file EFS_N7100XXND3_KH435987_REV05_user_low_ship to supposedly reset imei. Now I am just in factory mode.
7. Bashed head on desk.

Phone is out of warranty and there are no service centres near me. I really don't want to buy a new phone because I am saving for baby stuff.
