[Q] Flash kernel topic

So this is my question:
My m2 d2305 is on stock 4.4.4 . I have the jelly bean rom for my m2 d2305, if i want to flash the 4.3 kernel for rooting:
a.1) i would just have to use flashtools, click on the lightning, select the 4.3 rom and in the exclude select everything except the kernel ?
a.2) and uncheck the wipe cache and wipe data ?
b) same if i would want , after that, flash again the 4.4.4 kernel ?
