Chinese OPO Doesn't recognize SIM topic

Hi all. I am completely stuck. I've been trying to unlock wcdma band to work on China Unicom for 2 days. Flashed alot of stuff without success. Nightly cm12, phandroid 5, cm 11s, and ALOT of different modems that were suggested.

Now, no matter which rom I flash, there is no signal at all. Wifi only works on Official CM 11s .

Please Help. :(

Edit: In the *#*#4636#*#* When I try to change to original band I cannot. Its stuck on WCDMA. Also In mobile networks, change to 2G from 3G it stucks on 3G. Can I change somewhere to unstuck this?

Rooting New "Chinese Discovery V8" topic

Hi! I have recently bought this phone and tried several rooting methods but they can't seem to succesfully root it. Therefore i am now asking you guys with more experience what i should do? So far i have tried SRS Root, OneClickRoot, VRoot, iRoot, RootGenius... none seem to work. The phone has a MTK6572 chip. Please help a friend in need.

Hello guys, as may some of you know, I also have some of this keyboards in my rom and now I thought, why don't make them public? So everyone can flash it on his tab, no mather if his running another rom or stock rom :)

It is working fine on Tab S 8.4 and 10.5 (all variants) But it may also work with other Tablets, such as Tab 4 or Tab 3. You just have to run stock android 4.4.2 or higher.

This mod requiers root acces and a working recovery! So you warranty is void. I'm not responsible for a damaged device!

Instructions:
0. Have a working recovery (TWRP or Philz Touch)
1. Download the file you want
2. Copy it to your tab
3. Reboot to recoverymode
4. Select the zip file and install it
5. Reboot and you are done!

Bugs:
-With the Note Pro keyboard, the restrictive text will may not work... :(

[Q] S5380i (cooperve) AOSP 2.3.7 ROM by spacecaker - Chinese Application? topic

Hi

I have installed spacecakers AOSP ROM from here

I've noticed an application at the bottom of the installed list that has a chinese icon and a chinese name. An image of it is shown below:

It also has very highly elevated permissions to do just about everything on the phone.

This is a clean install from the original zip. Has anybody else seen this and/or do you know what it is?

Can't Update to 11.0-XNPH38r Incremental (Chinese OPO) topic

So I bought a Chinese OnePlus One, and it came pre-installed with CM 11 version 11.0-XNPH33r.
Connected to wifi, and got the system update for 11.0-XNPH38r Incremental, so I click download and install.
It reboots phone, then it loads ColorOS recovery looking screen with Chinese written on it and a green loading bar, then The CM splash icons comes back and loads. (alien looking guy with an arrow circling around his head)
After all that, I go to check the version and I'm still stuck at 11.0-XNPH33r!

I tried manually doing it from ColorOS recovery with 11.0-XNPH38r Incremental zip file, it installs about 3/4 of the way and then fails.

My Kernel Version is : 3.4.0-cyanogenmod-g0ad30e5
My ColorOS Recovery Version is : 1.2 (Rooted)

I've been looking around the forums, and I see people manually updating using TWRP which I don't have.
Can someone please help me, and if you have a solution can you please give me a step by step direction since I'm new to flashing/rooting and this phone.

[Q] Battery for Chinese android topic

I bought a Chinese phone when they weren't as popular as they are today and cant find anyone that stocks the battery i now need since the old one had died. Does anyone know where I can get a battery for this phone? If not, anyone know how I could possible turn an android smart phone on without a battery, or with mains power or an alternative battery?

[Q]installed chinese rom on k920 topic

i've installed a chinese rom on k920 by mistake. i cant copy a new qsb file onto my phone and install it because the sd card's size is being shown as 340MB, while the os partition is 31 GB. how do i fix this? or is there a way to flash a rom onto k920 from my pc. i've found a program called qualcomm flash which allegedly does just that but its in chinese and i cant find a translation anywhere.

I know many roms do not have the Samsung Chinese IME (Samsung Chinese Keyboard) , so I get the app from the lastest (newest) official Galaxy Note II LTE Stock ROM.

This is mainly provide for Hong Kong , Taiwan and China users~
It should be only for Galaxy Note II/Note II LTE(GT-N7100/GT-N7105), other devices may not support it!

Installation guide:

1. Download the following file
2. Unzip them to the "/system/" or unzip them and move them to "/system/"
3. Go to the "/system/app/" folder and confirm there is a "SamsungChineseIME.apk"
4. Then reboot/restart the phone (If you cannot see the keyboard installed, you may need to go into the "/system/app/" folder to install it yourself.)
5. Finally, it is done.

Efs got corrupt after flashing 5.0.1 leaked Chinese rom. How to restore it?? topic

HI Devs,

I have flashed leaked lollipop build on my Samsung Galaxy S4 I9500, evrything was working fine, later I decided to go back to stock 4.4.2 rom.
When I flashed stock rom, my phones' efs folder got corrupt, now my phones baseband is unknown, Serial no. is something different, Imei no. is something different.
I tried flashing back that leaked build, again everything started working fine. So I backed up efs folder from there and again flashed stock rom via odin.
After flashing stock 4.4.2, again same issue was there, so i restored the Efs folder and restarted my S4.
But nothing changed.
Can anyone help me in restoring efs back to back.
I want to restore my phone to stock build and with original imei and serial no.

[Q] Chinese Vivo restricted access in China to Google Play and services as well topic

Hello,
I have a Motorola Moto G dual sim which I bought in the US. The phone is not rooted but all the aps and everything works well except the fact that now I am in China and this phone does not support the local 3g or 4g(it doesn't have 4G anyway). I only get Edge connection. Due to this fact I decided to buy a local phone that has dual sim and chinese 4G. I got myself a Vivo Y27 with and android 4.4 and a local Funtouch ROM. The phone is fast and very good but, there is always a but; Google play has been banned in China and all the phones made for the chinese market have this restriction. The restriction does not apply to «blocking websites or app» as with a good VPN service I can access them. The restriction is most probably built in the ROM. I have been able to download Google play but the application won’t start. I get the message that this application has been prohibited. Some applications I am not even able to download, even through a VPN.
All my apps that are useful rely on google services, so even if the services are «blocked» I can use them through a VPN. I do use them on my MotoG but because of the lack of faster connection it is almost useless unless I am on wifi.
How can this problem be solved? Any suggestion? Will rooting the Vivo and then replacing Funtouch with another ROM solve the problem?
I´ve searched all the android forums regarding rooting this device but I haven´t been able to find it anywhere. Unfortunately I do not read chinese and when I talk to people here I get the information that Google has been prohibited since last mid year(august/september 2014)
Anybody can help me or point me in the right direction?
The way it is now this phone is useless for me as I need it to pair with all the services I subscribe.

Installing 100% Chinese ROM on i9000 for Google Play alternative topic

I just moved to China and discovered that none of the Google sites or apps work here. I was expecting them to be slow but they don't work at all!
Especially frustrating that Google Play store doesn't connect.

Now I'm contemplating to install one of the Chinese ROMs for the i9000, just to get an alternative for the Google Play Store.
Does anyone have experience installing one of those ROMs? I assume the language can be changed to English? Also what store would most likely be installed on these Chinese ROMs? I read that China has many different app stores.

I found a website that has some of the Chinese ROMs: http://shuaji.lexun.cn/romlist/9326. Do you guys advise Gingerbread 2.3.7?

Hope to hear from someone who has experience with Android phones in China.
