[Q] AOSP ROMs distorted images in browser topic
Hi I have an issue with all aosp ROMs whereby some websites will display completely distorted images. Amazon is the worst culprit but it happens with many sites. I've included a screenshot to demonstrate what I mean. I'm sorry if this has been asked before but its hard to search as results are mainly images of ROMs. This issue is not present with Samsung ROMs. Any ideas if this can be fixed? Cheers

AOSP Dialer and Contacts for Optimus G3 topic
I made a flashable zip that replaces the contacts and installs the aosp one with the google dialer. Works on Optimus G3 and probably on every rom which has the LGContacts.apk in the priv-app folder. This zip also deletes the LGContacts.odex! ;)
Thanks to @donjamal
Download it here :)
Note: the backup is only for optimus g3 1.41 ;)
Have fun:)

[Q] S5380i (cooperve) AOSP 2.3.7 ROM by spacecaker - Chinese Application? topic
Hi
I have installed spacecakers AOSP ROM from here
I've noticed an application at the bottom of the installed list that has a chinese icon and a chinese name. An image of it is shown below:
link
It also has very highly elevated permissions to do just about everything on the phone.
This is a clean install from the original zip. Has anybody else seen this and/or do you know what it is?
Cheers

Power button stuck ( bootloops on AOSP) topic
My S3 apparently has a power button that is sticking sometimes.
my question is i have my brothers old S3 with a cracked screen in my "junk drawer" i was wondering if i can swap out the entire circuit board that the button is on into my phone? or will that screw up my IMEI and phone number. it seems an easier solution than soldering in a new button.
any insight is greatly appreciate.
thanks

[Q] McAfee's Kill Switch on AOSP? topic
Can we port somehow the McAfee with Killswitch to AOSP?
Sure, we've hacked our way through to get AOSP and the least we can expect is tampering security, but as the LG G3 has some sort of lock-down module for the recovery and download mode, we could make use of that and disable TWRP and download mode while our phone is lost.
Is anything special necessary? I've installed McAfee as system and it doesn't present me the kill switch option.

[ROM] [Project ] Pure AOSP 5.0.2_plus Google Updates (1/29/2014) Mako Beta topic
The idea behind this project is to compile a Pure AOSP ROM. The difference is I have been little by little including and testing new commits added to the for the most part unstable staging master branch code from Google AOSP that has not yet been tagged for a future Lollipop update., hence the reason for 5.0.2_Plus name. The only change added to the code that was not committed first by Google is that the ZIP can be flashed in TWRP without replacing TWRP with the Stock Recovery and that is it. At the moment because of limited testing as I do not own a Nexus 4 and all changes have been tested on the Nexus 5 felt untill a few return performance reports best to call this a beta version. With that said the same changes have made some improvments and fixed a few issues experienced by Nexus 5 users using the oficial 5.0.1 update or compiled from the AOSP android-5.0.2_r1 branch. So if start receiving comments that all has been well on the Mako build or see say 100 download without a complaint reported will remove the beta tag. I suspect this will be the case as the commits are not device related.
I honestly started the project for the Nexus 5 with the idea that maybe as a community a few developers could help work on the project so everyone had an updated version of the latest release version that included the latest fixes and had not intended on compiling for the Nexus 4. After my second release another XDA member had asked if it would be possible to make a Nexus 4 port for a friend. At that point as there had been little interest in the project by other Nexus 5 Developers I would post the Mako ota package I compiled for the user who had asked for one. I also have my own Starship Rom and am part of a new developer team so again was meant as a community project and not intended to be released as my Rom or really even released at all with the intention of being a resource for other developers to either use as the base of whatever new AOSP Rom they may intend on developing or selectively picking pieces or fixes. So going with the same idea after compiling the asked for Mako version thought why just limit the idea to just the Nexus 5 as all Nexus devices share the same code from AOSP with exception of needing to add a different set of propriety vendor blobs and choosing a different lunch command for building. So the same goes as intended for the Nexus 5. If any Nexus 4 developers would be interested in joining in on the project Just let me know and I will grant full access to the Github account and create a new branch so we can test and insure the master branch is always %100 stable if it is going to be used by other Nexus developers..

[Q] Low FPS while recording using AOSP ROM topic
Why does it record with a maximum of 15-18 fps when using an aosp ROM? I have tried many ASOP ROMs, but each of them are bad at video recording. Is there a fix for this issue? I am well aware that HOX can record at 30fps, I'm ok with 25fps too, but 18 is just too low for its capabilities. :mad:

[ROM] Sero 7 Pro (US/UK/AU) - AOSP 5.0.2_r1 DoPa5 v1.0 topic
DoPa5 v1.0 is a Lollipop ROM for Sero 7 Pro owners worldwide. It focuses on core functionality and skips the frills that lead to bloat and instability.
Key Features
Installation
First-time Users
If you're upgrading from a stock ROM (any variety), please click the "show content" button and read the instructions very carefully - they're long but your tablet's continued good health may depend on it!
STEP 1: Install Philz Touch Recovery
Users outside the US must use this version of Philz to install the ROM - neither the stock recovery nor other versions of CWM or Philz will work. Users in the US should use it just to avoid problems.
Stock Recovery
If you still have the stock recovery program you'll have to use the 'fastboot' program to install Philz. On Windows, this requires installation of the 'ADB' USB drivers while in fastboot mode (see below). A package containing the drivers, fastboot, adb and other files can be found in the 2nd posting on the DoPa Stock ROM thread. Note: there are several batch files (*.bat) in the package - do NOT run them.
If you have CWM installed, copy sero7pro-philz6.58.0-dopa-v2.6.zip to an SD card, insert it in the tablet, then:
STEP 2: Backup
I can't emphasize this enough: you must make a backup of your existing ROM. If something goes wrong, there's no way to get your device working again other than to restore it using the backup you've made. There's also another reason to do a backup: before installing the new ROM, you will have to reformat your /data partition. This will wipe out your apps, your settings, and most importantly, all the music/photos/etc stored on your "internal SDcard". These last items can be restored if you follow the instructions below:
ROM
You must do your backup onto a real SD card that you can remove because your "internal SDcard" will be erased in the next step. In fact, it wouldn't be a bad idea to do two backups (preferably to different cards) just in case one is faulty.
This is optional but worthwhile if you have files you value stored on the tablet:
Before you begin, you may want to download a Google Apps ("Gapps") package that you can install after the ROM. See this thread for a selection of packages. To avoid complications, I'd suggest choosing the "Nano Modular Package" to get just the basics - you can always upgrade later. Put your Gapps package along with the ROM zip on an SD card and insert it into the tablet - you can use the same card you're using for your backups.
Upgrades
UK and AU users must use the companion Philz Touch CWM-based recovery to install the ROM because it is the only one compatible with your tablet. US users can use any SELinux-enabled version of CWM or TWRP, though Philz is highly recommended if you use exFAT-formatted SD cards.
f2fs / ext4 Migration
This DoPa ROM gives you the flexibility to format any of your built-in partitions using either the f2fs or ext4 file systems.
As part of your install - or at any time - you can switch formats without losing any data. Click "show content" for instructions.
If you haven't already installed Philz Touch Recovery, please do so first. Philz has gotten complicated, so read this carefully!

- put fastboot.exe in a convenient directory, then unzip sero7pro-philz6.58.0-dopa-v2.6.zip and put the file philz.img in the same directory (you won't need the other files)
- unplug any USB cable, then press and hold Power+VolumeUp; the word "fastboot" should appear on the screen (nothing further will appear)
- plug the USB cable from your PC into the tablet, then install the driver (open Device Manager, right click on "Other Devices->Fastboot", then select "Update Driver Software")
- after installing the driver, open a command prompt ("DOS window") and change to the directory containing the files
- enter fastboot flash recovery philz.img
- when done, force the tablet off, remove the USB cable, then reboot into recovery: Power+VolumeDown - you should see the word "recovery", then the Philz menu
If you have CWM installed, copy sero7pro-philz6.58.0-dopa-v2.6.zip to an SD card, insert it in the tablet, then:
- remove any USB cable, then boot into recovery: Power+VolumeDown
- select "Install Zip", then "Choose zip from /storage/sdcard1"
- select the file, then OK the selection
- when done, back out to the main menu, select "Advanced options", then "Reboot recovery"
- after the initial "recovery" screen, you should see the Philz menu
- on Philz main menu, select "Backup and Restore"
- next, select "Backup to /storage/sdcard1" (the 6th item on that menu)
- if there's enough space on the card, the backup will start without any further prompt; it could take anywhere from 3 to 15+ minutes depending on the amount of data and the speed of your card
- if needed, you can enable compression to create a smaller backup: select "Misc Nandroid Settings -> Default Backup Format -> tar + gzip", then on the previous menu, tap on "Compression" to set the appropriate level
This is optional but worthwhile if you have files you value stored on the tablet:
- on Philz main menu, select "Backup and Restore"
- next, select "Custom Backup to /storage/sdcard1" (the 9th item on that menu)
- on the next screen, deselect everything, then select "Backup /data/media" (the next-to-last item)
- finally, select "Start Custom Backup Job"
Before you begin, you may want to download a Google Apps ("Gapps") package that you can install after the ROM. See this thread for a selection of packages. To avoid complications, I'd suggest choosing the "Nano Modular Package" to get just the basics - you can always upgrade later. Put your Gapps package along with the ROM zip on an SD card and insert it into the tablet - you can use the same card you're using for your backups.
- on Philz main menu, select "Wipe and Format Options", then "Custom Format Options"
- select "format /data and /data/media (/sdcard)" (the 8th item), then OK your choice
- back on the main menu, select "Install Zip -> Choose zip from /storage/sdcard1"
- select sero7pro-aosp502-dopa5-v1.0.zip, then OK your choice - the install process should take about 40 seconds
- next, install your Gapps package
- return to the main menu, select "Reboot System Now", then hold your breath for the next 3-4 minutes :)
- the Hisense screen should be up for less than a minute, followed by the DoPa boot animation for another 3 minutes
Upgrades
UK and AU users must use the companion Philz Touch CWM-based recovery to install the ROM because it is the only one compatible with your tablet. US users can use any SELinux-enabled version of CWM or TWRP, though Philz is highly recommended if you use exFAT-formatted SD cards.
- from DoPa5 AOSP Lollipop Beta ROMs - no need to wipe or format anything!
- from DoPa AOSP Kitkat ROMs (v1.0-v2.6) - a clean install is recommended but not required
- from pre-Kitkat (v4.4.x) or any CM-based ROMs - wipe your /data partition before installing to avoid unnecessary problems.
- install sero7pro-aosp502-dopa5-v1.0.zip
- the installer will wipe (but NOT format) /cache and dalvik-cache for you - install your preferred Gapps package
- upgraders: this is required to prevent your downloaded Google apps from crashing - optionally, install the Nexus7 spoof (sero7pro-nexus7spoof-dopa5-v1.0.zip)
- reboot (ignore any "fix root" prompt - it's incorrect)
f2fs / ext4 Migration
This DoPa ROM gives you the flexibility to format any of your built-in partitions using either the f2fs or ext4 file systems.
As part of your install - or at any time - you can switch formats without losing any data. Click "show content" for instructions.
If you haven't already installed Philz Touch Recovery, please do so first. Philz has gotten complicated, so read this carefully!
- make a nandroid backup to your external SD card
- select Wipe and Format Options, then Custom Format Options
- select toggle f2fs <-> ext4 migration
- be sure there's a confirmation message at the bottom of the screen - select each partition you want to convert or wipe, then select the format and OK your choice
- Important: to convert your /data partition, you must select format /data and /data/media (/sdcard)!!!
- use Custom Restore from /storage/sdcard1 to restore the contents of the partitions you reformatted
Changes since DoPa5 Beta 3
- Power Menu - Reboot and Reboot to Recovery options can be added to the menu by enabling them on the Settings->Performance screen
- Email - the stock Email app is now usable, though some bugs may remain
- Memory Leak - a patch has been applied to plug the best known memory leak - the tablet should be usable extended periods without locking up
- Lollipop - this version of Android lacks the stability and polish found in the final versions of Kitkat. As Google issues updates and fixes, I expect to make them available to enhance your "user experience".
- Theming - this ROM contains the hooks and fixes needed to theme it using "runtime resource overlays" ("RRO"). However, it may be a while before anyone releases themes compatible with the S7P's screen density. The few that are available are for 300+dpi while our screen is 213dpi.

- randomblame
- davepmer
- the CM team
- sero7pro-aosp502-dopa5-v1.0.zip the full ROM
- sero7pro-nexus7spoof-dopa-v1.0.zip identify tablet as a Nexus7 to (possibly) show more apps in PlayStore
- sero7pro-philz6.58.0-dopa-v2.61.zip a customized version of Philz Touch CWM-based Recovery v6.58.0 usable on all versions of the Sero 7 Pro

[ROM][BETA] 4.4.2 AOSP jotikiROM V1 with Gravity topic
THE ROM IS BETA and I do not responsible for failures in the terminal. Try it at your own risk. It is for REDMI NOTE WCDMA (MTK)
Source: http://bbs.ydss.cn Author: Wenwen
Comment is the first ROM I post and I am not a developer, you've caught this ROM and I have adapted to my taste, but I think it might be interesting test it.
I've tried in my terminal and I have not had any problems but assure their Stability aspects since it is a BETA version.
If you do not know how to reset your REDMI NOTE a bootloop I recommend NOT INSTALL the ROM. (It has not happened but that tells me .....)
* Kernel V6 MIUI 5.1.22 BETA
* Rooteada, SuperSU installed. (If asked to update binary choose METHOD NORMAL)
* Xposed + Gravity
* Multilanguage
* "Rasuradita" -quitadas Chinese apps
* Work both SIMS
* Xperia keyboard
.......
BUGS found:
* Automatic brightness (not implemented)
* Backlight capacitive buttons
* ART mode (although you can switch from options developer, you always work the way DALVIK)
*****INSTALLATION *****
- First of all make a BACKUP INCLUDING NVRAM.
-Download ZIP file on the external SD and restart in RECOVERY mode (I recommend TWRP 2.8.1.0)
-link TWRP 2.8.1.0, credit Cloud:
http://www.mediafire.com/download/pk...i/recovery.img
-Go To ADVANCED and select WIPE DATA, CACHE CACHE DALVIK. Recommended also wipe internal storage (make backup because all the files in the internal memory will be deleted)
-Install ZIP jotikirom
-WIPE And DALVIK CACHE CACHE
Patience, the first startup takes quite
- NO APP DATA RESTORE WITH TITANIUM if you come from a different base to 4.4.2

[Q] Losing root with AOSP roms topic
Hi! I just went from a Nexus 5 to a G3 (855K - Telstra Australia version)
Setting the phone up for daily use. I rooted it with purpledrake, installed TWRP and I have no issues with LG roms. But every time I install an AOSP rom (I've tried resurrection and CM12) I do not have root privileges. In my previous experience with every AOSP rom I've ever tried they've come with Busybox and Superuser preinstalled. This isn't the case now.
Am I missing a step somewhere? Can anyone give me an easy answer? Thanks in advanced :D
