s5 update now no control over volume topic

galaxy s5 non rooted, was on lollipop via kies. got an update ota this morning, around 260mb, thought maybe it was 5.0.1 or something like that fixing a few bugs, installed it now the ring volume stuck on silent, as well as system, notifications, but media volume is working ok? i have rebooted a few times no joy. .... lrx21t.g900fxxu1boa3. any ideas what to do?

Battery better with stock rom over LP? topic

Is it just me, or do others find the battery life in a stock-based kitkat rom much better than the lollipop roms? I've tried both on my VS985 and the battery with Eclipse G3 is just awesome. It's so much better than the LP roms I've tried like Illusion and crDroid, using basically the same apps/mail, etc. I mean the battery life is so different, there must be a reason because I've read of others who say the LP roms reduce the battery life.

Tried teamviewer for the android. Very underveloped comapred to PC, needs to be in foreground and requires manual authentication twice each time. Any alternatives for this? I want to view my android screen on PC. Airdroid has a limit and works poorly as well

[Q] Phone Closing Background Apps With Over 1GB of Free Ram! topic

I have recently debloated a bit my phone (some freezes with titanium and hibernation with greenify) which led me to only 1.4GB of used Ram but the phone keeps closing the background applications even with a lot of ram left.

It seems like it limits the number of apps it can keep opened, for example, if I run heavy games it keeps only 4~5 games and the ram is around 2.3GB, which may look ok, but opening light applications, even UNDER 2GB of used ram, it starts closing apps after 5 or 6 opened apps. That makes no sense.

What could be done to fix this? Does this happen to you too?

I'm running stock rom and v9 ultimate kernel (exynos) and that option under developer options is set to standard.

[Q] Can't skip/replay tracks from car stereo over bluetooth topic

Hey all, Just recently replaced my Galaxy S3 with the Z3. I love it so far except for one annoyance. The phone connects to the stock radio in my car over bluetooth (2010 Mazda3) and plays, except I can't skip or replay tracks as I want from the car stereo head unit. It will just play the songs from my library on the phone. I can however do it from the phone itself. The only control I have from the head/steering controls is volume. My old Galaxy S2 & S3 worked flawlessly in this respect, why am I having trouble with a brand new phone in 2015? Any suggestions welcome.

[Q] Flashing CM12 over converted XT1032 to GPE 5.0.2 topic

Hi there,

I have had a long search through both Q&A and the General forum but I can't seem to find the answer I am looking for.

I converted my stock XT1032 to a GPE and then OTA flashed the 5.0.2 update onto it (not via a sideload but via the OTA updater in settings). I found that then trying to install TWRP recovery via fastboot (both 2.8.1.0 and 2.8.4.0) I could access the recovery once I had installed it but there was a wavy line passing through the screen from the top to the bottom and when I restarted the device to try to get back to recovery I could only get the stock one.

I am unsure about the safety of flashing a new ROM onto this recovery due to this.

I think there may be a problem with the gpt.bin file as I had to flash this fix when I updated the 4.4.4 GPE to 5.0.2 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...86&postcount=1) to get past the Google logo.

I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same problem? I am on the 41.18 bootloader if that helps.

I would really like to be able to flash cyanogenmod onto my device (I just love CM it's so much better than stock IMO) and some advice would be much appreciated.

call over bluetooth headset/car speakers doesn't work topic

When I connect to bluetooth headset or car bluetooth I can make couple of phone calls and after while the speaker and mic is not working. I cannot hear anything nor can they hear me.
After I reboot the phone it is OK for while but after few phone calls it is the same again. When only disconnect bluetooth it is still not working only reboot helps.

I have tried to unpair/pair again, soft reset It has been happening for few months now. I have stock 4.4.2
I suspect it could be some app, but not sure.

Anyone having similar issue / advice?

[Q] Sense 6 Lollipop over Sense 6 KK topic

Lollipop based Sense 6 roms are slowly trickling out. Are there are major benefits to be gained from going to a Lollipop (Sense) rom?

We lose xposed and all the mods that go with it, bringing customisation levels down quite a bit.That's a major loss for many, however we gain from being on the latest release from google/htc.

Sense 6 on Lollipop looks more or less the same, so we don't benefit from the visual overhaul of GPE/AOSP.

Opinions anyone?

Feature Request : QS tile for adb over network topic

Need this on a daily basis. A QS tile doesnt annoy with the message on enabling it. Also if ADB over network is left on, QS will be more noticeable than a setting hidden in dev options.

I read some where that T mobile offers a rom for europe and asia where 2100MHz for 3G is enabled, any help please?
