s5 update now no control over volume topic

galaxy s5 non rooted, was on lollipop via kies. got an update ota this morning, around 260mb, thought maybe it was 5.0.1 or something like that fixing a few bugs, installed it now the ring volume stuck on silent, as well as system, notifications, but media volume is working ok? i have rebooted a few times no joy. .... lrx21t.g900fxxu1boa3. any ideas what to do?

[Q] What's the best way to control app permissions in Lollipop topic

I've always used Xposed and XPrivacy but since that isn't an option right now, what's the best way to control app permissions in Lollipop? I'm willing to flash custom ROMS to do this. One thing is Facebook is very good at getting around Location blocks, and I don't quite trust them with my location. So blocking FB locations is my test of the method succeeding or failing.

Android app to control tablet topic

I used to own a tegre note 7, unfortunately is suffered a usb port fail so incant charge it.
I would pay for a repair but cant a repairer.

Anyway i am lucky enough to have a shield tablet now.
I am happy to say so far so good.
All features work as they should.
Battery and charging are all good, as is wifi.
Touch wood.

Anyway one feature i think we miss is the ability to control the tablet in console mode with an android phone.
I have tried various different apps and nine of them seem to work.

Has anyone got this working on the Z3?

I've tried manually switching the parser to both default options, but nothing no gestures are even recognised.

I noticed on the play store that it has been updated with 4.3 support and I'm running 4.4.4 however I also run it on my HTC One on 4.4.4 and it works great.

Any suggestions?

Should be free. Also teamviewer doesn't work for this. You have to manually authenticate connections to it on your android device. The app should simply run in the background without using many resources until it gets a request to use its screen.

Would also highly prefer it runs or has a lan-preferred mode so I can use it with less battery resources and far lower latency than I would having to transfer things over the internet

[Q] How to control Notification Priority? topic

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if there is any app, that isn't an Xposed module, that can control Notification Priority settings for given apps. Specfically, I'm looking for a way to control that forsaken Facebook Messenger app that ALWAYS puts messages at the top of notification drawer, which can get really annoying when even the ongoing music player notification is beneath it.

App Settings offers such a feature, but I'm trying to find alternatives to Xposed for reasons that I probably don't need to mention. This is one of the last things I need to replace before being pretty independant on Xposed.

The are a lot of "mouse" apps for iphone, but server side app only exist for mac or windows.
Seems vnc is the only option in this case?

My gio starts sometimes doing things on its one,even in recoverymode it runs down the menu,put recovery menu in rainbow mode(didnt know it could)starts calling numbers from contacts etc,it dont help to factory reset or put different rom on it...

Hey guys I wanted to know how to use the nexus 5 as a TV remote control. Does it have a IR blaster? I don't think so. I've heard that it doesn't need the it blaster because it can use WiFi to be a remote control. Can anyone tell me some apps that are legit and actually work?
