[Q] Constant reboot help! topic

hi, I am on Dr.Ketan ROm v12. from the past few days my phone constantly reboots itself till i connect to AC power. The phone reboots again constantly when the AC power is disconneted.
I thought it was a battery issue, however, the phone stays ON in recovery mode ( till the battery drains to 0% )
It may not be ROM issue as it works fine on AC power.
I have to connect the phone to AC power constantly to use it
Anybody with any suggestion, please help. !

SMS reboot topic

There is a problem with some MTK phones.
In short: If you recieve and SMS with equal sign "=" phone will reboot.
There is more here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2795982
This is the case with my P780. I've tried to uninstall all sms aps, install 3rd party apps, nothing is helping. Phone can reboot even without displaying any notification abut new sms message.
W would like to trace this and possibly do something to eliminate this "feature".
Maybe you will have some good ideas, maybe we can find the reason together.
What should i test first? Changing baseband maybe?

[Q] Xperia Z Dead on reboot topic

There is some pinkish hue in the micro USB waterlogging detector, but last time I dipped it in the water was quite a few days ago and device was fine.
Last ROM is use: infected's CM12 1st Feb 2nd build.
There is this bug where sometimes the lockscreen PIN won't be accepted and needs a reboot. So I rebooted and nothing came up on the display. I held power+Vol Up, nothing. No vibration.
The thing is, when I try to connect the device in fastboot mode, I get a orange glow from the LED and Flashtool says: "Device connected with USB debugging off". I get same message when connecting with vol down button.
So I just want to know what happened? I want to avoid the same mishap from happening again. Is this a software issue? Can a faulty ROM or Kernel do this? Is this a hardware issue? Can effects of waterlogging be delayed? Is this repairable?

[Q] Nexus 5 dropping signal randomly, reboot required to fix topic

My phone is dropping cellular signal without warning. Cycling airplane mode or cellular network mode does not fix it. Only rebooting the phone has succeeded in getting signal back. This problem started last night. Since then, I have experienced it three times.

Further info:

I've had the phone for a little over a year. I did a factory reset when I installed L. I am running stock.
Any idea what's wrong and how to fix it?

[Q] Ringtone goes silent only reboot helps topic

Hi,
So ringtone goes silent after some hours. Doesn't really matter if phone is in use or it's during night.
First I thought it was ROM issue, but this happens on CM12 original image.
The only thing that is "the same" that I flashed recently is firmware_cm12.
It was working flawlessly before on cm11 and slimsaber roms.
I've tried installing only CM12 without any app and it's the same this morning.
Notifications, like SMS, are still working and sound is played when I receive them. Only ringing is dead silent.
I checked many times that there's no wonky profile with quiet hours or anything else, even tho the issue is fixed by rebooting phone...
Please help!

Any advanced reboot menu mod for 5.0 for the Moto X? topic

Or is there another good way to get a reboot option that is almost as simple as just using the power button?

Thanks

Huawei G730-u00 continuous reboot topic

guys i bought this terminal
for some days during the normal use
restarts itself every time I open an app

I tried to restore the factory settings
will reboot into recovery "sembrerebba a cwm"
I did the two wipe
and when I restart
the cell actually not and reset.

how do I fix?

there is a different recovery? "if this is not working properly"
is there any firmware update for this model?

P.S. I managed to find a rom official updated
I would ask, however, says English / Chinese
how did they put the Italian language in this rom?

thank you

[Q] Reboot when altering system files topic

I have two separate issues which I believe are caused by the same thing.

1. When I try to alter platform.xml in the /system/etc/permissions folder via ES File Explorer to enable 3rd party apps to have write capability to the SD card, the edit is unsuccessful and my phone reboots. When I pull a copy of the file to my PC, alter it, and then try to push it via ADB, the same thing happens. I previously used the ADB pull/push method to edit my hosts file and had success with that after doing it while in Recovery, but this time around both ways (in recovery and with the device booted up) result in my device rebooting. For the SD card fix, I've also tried the app that does it for you and encounter the same issue.

2. When attempting to update the SuperSU binary, the update fails my device reboots. This happens with either update method - normal and recovery.

So both issues seem to have the same root cause... my phone will not allow any editing of system files. Anyone have any suggestions?

For reference I'm on a Galaxy Note 4 (model SM-N910T) on T-Mobile.
Baseband version N910TUVU1ANJ7
Android version 4.4.4 (stock ROM)
Kernel version 3.10.0-2796035
Build number KTU84P.N910TUVU1ANJ7

I'm also running Wanam Xposed - not sure if that has anything to do with anything but just fyi.

Thanks

[GUIDE] [HOW TO] Solve Random Shutdown/ Reboot Problem topic

People love Nexus devices for the latest version of Android it gets. It's the best device to get updated with the latest version and usually cheaper than other devices in the market with same specification though Nexus 6 is bit exceptional with a bit higher price tag. Latest Android version is always exciting to us but with latest Android version, comes Latest Bugs too :p May be I became sarcastic, though it's true. Android Lollipop is not an exceptional to come with some bugs. One of the major bug of Lollipop is the RAM leaking issue. People has faced some major RAM leaking issue on their Nexus 5 and now Nexus 6 is also facing it. For Nexus 6 it's a major issue because it's causing Nexus 6 to force reboot and mainly force shutdown. This issue has been marked as Complete on Google Forum by a Google Employee. Jump to the first page to see it and browse through all pages to see that so many people are facing the same issue so there is no need to be panic. You can expect a fix for it as it has been marked Completed by a Google Employee. But for now we need a solution for it. ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT IT'S NOT A HARDWARE BASED PROBLEM, IT'S THE PROBLEM OF THE STOCK KERNEL. SO DON'T GET PANICKED AND REPLACE YOU DEVICE.
If you want to get rid of this problem and want to stay in stock firmware then follow the following steps:

A> Non-Rooted Device:
1. Close all apps before doing heavy tasks. You may see "System" as a recent task, don't be panic, clear it. It may appear sometimes. Even some apps which you've not opened, they may show in recent apps.
2. Don't run some specific games like NOVA3. It'll not let you go forward from the first cut-scene. It'll force shut down the device. [Tested by me]
3. Do reboot your device once in an interval of 5-6 days. 3-4 days are recommended. If you notice the RAM usage daily, you can notice that the RAM usage by System/Settings starts increasing after 2 days of usage without any reboot.

B> Rooted:
If you're rooted, you're good to go for a permanent solution.
1. If you don't want to switch to any Custom ROM, then flash a Custom Kernel like Franco Kernel or ElementalX . It'll help you to get rid of the random reboot/ force shut down.
2. Flash Custom ROMs. There are plenty of custom ROMs available for Nexus 6 which are mostly based on 5.0.2 and doesn't cause problems like this. Giving a small list of the ROMs which are being used by most of the Nexus 6 users
Dirty Unicorns
Official SlimLP Alpha
Euphoria-OS
LiquidSmooth
N6 Nocturnal Limited Edition

If it helps, please do consider pressing the "Thanks" button :)
