[Q] Help regarding Link2SD and second SD partition topic

Hey there
I recently rooted my phone (Micromax Canvas 4), my phone is having 16GB of ROM which is divided in 2 parts 2.4GB for apps and 10GB for storage as internal SD, the 2.4GB is kinda really low for me, I found about link2SD which basically stores apps on SD, it needs a second partition on SD, I followed all the instructions and yesterday when I formatted my SD and made 2 partitions as 8GB for storage (FAT32) and 2GB as second partition for apps (ext4), the phone was unable to read the SD card, even Link2SD didnt detected second storage, I chksdk the SD on PC it found no error, then I formatted the SD from my phone itself it was showing a notification as Internal SD damaged, try reformat, I want able to make it readable again and it was back to original 10 GB storage, luckily i copied the SD data before doing this and I was able to bring back my phone to original condition, so I want anyone to help with second partition and Link2SD.

Also I want to replace gallery with quickpic since stock gallery creates huge thumbnails on internal SD and is slow, when I freeze Gallery with Titanium Backup the stock camera app also freezes, somehow they are connected, is there a way to freeze gallery without freezing stock camera, if there isnt please suggest a camera app that is as good and close to stock camera without extra useless features.

Thanks

Use of sd-ext partition to increase available space? topic

Does anyone have a working mounts2sd/link2sd/apps2sd solution for the Moto G 2014? I have a freshly formatted good quality 16Gb card with a 3gb Ext4 partition but no matter what script or app I try I can't get additional /data space. Moving apps to SD Card in Settings>Apps is completely pointless as it moves them to the internal /sdcard, not to the external one so you get absolutely zero gain in internal space. I have used mounts2sd on several older phones before but nothing recently as I've always had 32Gb phones, but now my son has this phone and he's run out of app space already! Any help would be greatly appreciated. He's running the latest Oxygen 5.0.2 ROM with Pinkman kernel iirc.

Also as an aside, is there a kernel for his phone with working s2w/dt2w?

[Q] /data partition corrupted (I/O error) topic

I own an i9500 (Galaxy S IV). Recently, it dropped. I was lucky enough to install RomSwitcher (a multi-boot app) on it before, so I could still access an Android version.
However, in order to fix the problem, I decided to format the whole device. That didn't work out, and now I'm always stuck on bootloader screen( if it boots at all) and data partitions give I/O errors in recovery.
Now I would be glad if I could install another ROM on my sdcard, probably that'll have to go via RomSwitcher(http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2417600). I would be glad if someone could send me the kernel and recovery images.

Kind Regards,
Richard Fennigan

p.s. Logcats give the issue of Constantly being in wakelock because of the GPS.

Partition LG G2 SD topic

I'm unsure how to approach this w/o an external SD. So I'm looking to install ubuntu running linux deployer but w/o the ability to partition accordingly obviously I can't. Anyone know of an app that will allow partitioning the internal. I'm afraid partitioning a couple gigs in TWRP will put me a half an hour sideloading to unbrick.

[Q] Is possible to make a sd virtual partition? topic

Hi,
I have a htc one x for a day and I don't know all the peculiarities of this device. I have read that's not possible to make an sd card partition to move some apps to it. Someone said that would be possible to make an image inside sd card and mount it but I cant find anything more about this approach.
I guess should be a way to do that becuase the /data space isn't enough. And I ask you what can I do to get more space to install apps on this device?

bricked my moto g while downgrading lollipop to kitkat / corrupted data partition? topic

i was using moto g xt1033 asian retail, i changed it to 4.4.4 brazilian retail and then updated to lollipop 5.0 brazilian following a thread on xda. all worked well. i came across a thread which had an ota update for 5.0 to 5.0.1 it was a 10mb file. i put it in pendrive and flashed it via twrp. since then the phone never went past the warning bootloader unlocked page.

when i power it off, it automatically reopens but gets stuck on the warning bootloader unlocked page.
usb debugging is enabled, i can access bootloader, can use fastboot commands, it recognizes adb commands and can flash recoveries on it.
the only thing that doesnt work is that it doesnt get past the warning page.

so i went to twrp, cleared all- dalvick cache, data, internal storage, cache and system.
it gives wipe complete, FAILED
see image 1.

so i flashed the original 4.4.4 rom and it again gives the same errors and now i get waves on twrp, but still doesnt go past the warning bootloader unlocked screen.
updating partition details-
E : unable to mount '/data'
E : unable to mount '/cache'
E : unable to mount internal storage
see image 2.

basically, every time i try to wipe it or install a new rom it gives problems about partition.

so i wiped it again and installed cm11 snapshot on it.
again the same unmounting problems, but now it goes past the warning bootloader screen but always stays on the arrow rotating about the cm logo.

i searched a lot online , and i think the problem is corrupted partition.
so i followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2683787 .

first he shows a way by using terminal command from trwp . when i goto command terminal, it shows browse to starting folder i chose any folder like sdcard and enter this code

Code:

mke2fs -T ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p8

. it gives this
see image 3 and image 4.

i try the next alternative that is using adb and this code

Code:

adb shell
killall -19 recovery
make_ext4fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p8
reboot

and it gives this
see image 5.

please help me to clear this partiton problem. thank you in advance :')

[Q] can I safely uncheck EBR1, EBR2 in flash tool not to change partition layout? topic

I have Lenovo P780. There are Chinese and RestOfWorld ROMs for this phone, and they are little bit different.

My question is: can I install ROW ROM, repartition it (there are simple patches that work with some ROMs) and later uncheck MBR, EBR1, EBR2 (which of them?) when installing my target Chinese ROM to leave partitions as I set them before?

[Request] Backup aboot partition topic

Can somebody please upload the backup of the aboot partition before & after unlocking the bootloader?? You can use any available method to backup e.g this one.

The procedure needs root permission, so you need to be rooted without bootloader unlocking first.
