Z3 Performance degrades even for basic apps topic

I had Z1 prior to Z3 and performance degraded overtime, not because the number of apps because that hasn't changed, but after multiple software updates. I haven't had any updates on my TMO Z3 yet, but I already feel like it's getting slower, even though I am not running any heavy apps on it. It just feels sluggish when doing basic things like launching standard Phone or Sms apps. Oh, and I am not running Stamina mode either.

[Q] Need confirmation on headset call performance topic

If you use a headset/earbuds with an in-line mic to handle calls, I would appreciate it if you could confirm one thing for me.

During a call, do you hear your own voice (and surrounding noise) through your own headset?

I've never had a smartphone send the audio picked up by my own mic straight back to my own ears during calls. I'm trying to figure out if this is normal behavior for this device or if I have a problem.

Performance profile crash topic

Hey guys,
at the moment I´m running up-to-date CM 12 Nightlies using stock kernel.
As stated in the title, my phone crashes when I select the "Performance" profile in the Performance Settings.
The phone does however NOT crash when I put the performance profile to "Balanced" or "Battery Saving"
The phone crashes a few seconds after I close every app and then put it into sleep.
I have got no changes made to any CPU settings.
I have not found any advice in making the settings work again properly by myself.
Not being able to use the "Performance" profile is not that big of a problem but at the same time it is pretty annoying, so I would be very happy if someone would share his knowledge about solving my problem.
Have a great day! :)

I'm really not happy with performance? topic

Hardware is fantastic, its let down by software. I will be honest on 4.4.2 performance wasn't that special either. I came from a Moto G, a phone with 1GB ram and 1.2 Quadcore CPU and performance wise it beats the S5. I upgraded to lollipop and well things have just got worse. For instance pressing the gallery takes 3+ seconds to open, same with making a call, and quite often when I hit the home button it redraws which indicates RAM is getting used up and needs free'd.

If you came from something like an S3 I'm sure this phone would seem like lightening, but coming from a stock android experience it is slow.

The question is how do I fix this? I did factoy reset after lollipop update which helps a bit but it soon bogs down again, an issue with 5.0 apparently. I have tried Nova which helps a bit but underneath its still running TW which I thinks the problem.

Autobrightness/brightness performance under sunlight topic

Yo XDA people! Whats up! 😁
Im just asking about brightness performance under sunlight, or outdoor settings. To be hones my M7 is not as good as I thought on this settings.. it shows lots of reflections.

I just saw my friends Xiaomi MI4 next to mine, I was blown away by the performance of their brightness.. mine was already in 100% yet easily taken down by MI4 50% 😱😱

But i still love my phone and would love to see some improvement in this area
Any thought? 😁

[TIP] Increase gaming performance topic

The N7 is an amazing tablet, but lets face it, the S4 Pro and Adreno 320 GPU really aren't up to the task when it comes to gaming on such a high resolution screen. Graphically intensive games just don't run as well as they should. So I did some digging and testing, and found an app that lets you lower your screen resolution, thus decreasing the strain on the GPU and increasing gaming performance. When changing the resolution to 800x1280, I found a noticeble increase in framerate in 3D games such as Riptide GP 1+2, NOVA 3, and Modern Combat 5, and the games still look great. You're not going to want to leave the resolution set that low all the time because it does make everything else look pretty bad, but when you're going to play a game, it only takes a second to set the resolution and start playing. It's a paid app (there are free ones that do the same thing, but I've had the best luck with this one), but considering the gains, it's worth every penny of the .99 asking price. Here's the link- https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...olutionchanger

So, give it a shot and let me know how it works out for you.

Here's some before and after 3D benchmarks-

[Q] Need advice : Stock & custom I/O performance topic

Hi,

I played with many Nexus S. I had one when they were new and my memory is that it was a good phone. Since then, I've played with 3-4 of them and every time, they were so slow, having lags of almost a minute on many touch of button. I've used Quadrant benchmark and everytime, I see that everything is normal except I/O. I've read many thread about that and they suggest that it has something to do with kernel. (most of the phone I used were using CyanogenMod, an OS I used since the beginning with almost all my phones (I have had a lot of them and always play with alternatives OS)).

My current phone died and I took back an old Nexus S and it is so frustrating to experience all those lags. I returned it back to Stock (official 4.1.2 image from google). I only flashed a recovery and rooted the phone after. What was my surprise to experience major lags and run the benchmark and see that I/O performance are still so low.

How are you living with your phone ? Is it fixable ?

Thanks to read me.

Looking forward to read from you guys
