Please help to unbrick topic

Hi,

I am looking for some help as I did something stupid...

I came across some posting that explained that the moto has an unused partition under /cache that could be used for the dalvik-cache.

So I tried to move the dalvik-cache there and link /data/dalvik-cache to this new location.

Now the problem is that I get an "unfortunately the location-service has stopped" message all the time that makes the device unusuable (as soon as I press ok the same warning appears again).

When I try to boot into recovery I get a "dead android robot".

I can however access the device via adb, unfortunately I am not able to get a root shell. My device is rooted, but su in an adb-shell just hangs.

If I could only get a root-shell I could undo my changes and hopefully my device will work again, but I have to idea on what to try...

Can anone help me here?

[Q] How to unbrick my 4X - a question of life and death! topic

I have half-bricked P880. Bought just a week ago.
My ROM is stock V10C. I’m trying to get rid of that crap ROM, but so far without success.
I have rooted the phone but flashify is the only app saing that the phone is not rooted. Every other app which requires root is normally working. I can’t unlock the bootloader because phone can’t be recognized by any computer, using different Windows, USB cables etc. It just shows charging but PC doesn’t see any connected device. Nor the phone shows any connection option when I connect it to PC by USB. Ch
I’ve tried to install TWRP (without success) and CWM (successfully) but the phone can’t be load into bootloader. Just an LG logo will appear and this error message:
[LGE_SECURITY ERROR] boot image signature
Critical failure: Unable to start kernel
Unrecoverable bootloader error (0x00000002)

I think it’s still locked.

This method hasn’t help either…
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2251407
What’s more, the error message appears almost every time I try to turn on the phone. Sometimes it takes 10 attempts until the phone will finally boot into Android.
Yes I’ve tried basic things like playing with USB debug mode, LG PC suite option/USB tethering… please don’t respond to my question by that kind of suggestions, I’m no rookie in flashing roms and Android problems.

Only hope for me is to flash kdz file via PC (when the phone is off and battery out). BUT I’m unable to do that, due to problem that the phone is again NOT RECOGNIZED by PC. Of course I've tried every kind of LG driver but the problem is in the phone, because the PC won’t even notify by sound that a phone has been connected to it. So I need to change the corrupted bootloader… somehow.
I’ve already searched everything to this issue on XDA elsewhere without any solution. So I’m 95% the phone is half-bricked without any chance to flash new ROM.

You are my last hope - Unbrick file for S4 Verizon ME7 topic

I have been trying to switch from TWRP to CWM but every time it always ended up with "Secure Fail Kernel" message. So, after many hours of frustrations, I have tried EZ-Unlock to unlock my bootloader, which was a very bad idea.

So, phone is dead now. Power button does not do anything... So, my last hope, before paying for JTAG services, is to try to boot from a unbrick file from sdcard. So, if someone would kindly post/upload/PM the S4 unbrick file, I would appreciate it..

16GB Verizon SCH-I545 S4
ME7 with TWRP
ROM - 4.4.4 Dan&Ktoonsez CM (final) 09-18-2014

How to save your bootloader image (unbrick file) so that you could upload:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/backup.bin bs=1024 count=131072

Help Unbrick Nexus 5! topic

Quite the rookie when it comes to this stuff. As of now, I have a Nexus 5 LRX22C (5.0.1) which is bricked. When I turn it on, it will just stick on the Google screen and not move from there. I can get into download mode by holding vol up down and power, and in there I see that my bootloader is locked. I have a Mac and I am trying to understand how to "fastboot". I have downloaded the factory image file. Where do I go from here?

Thank you in advance!

[UNBRICK] Unbrick Oneplus One - Easiest Way ! topic

The solution is in fact to download Color.zip from

https://www.dropbox.com/s/a5uon7lswl...Color.zip?dl=0

Stock 4.4.4 firmware from

http://builds.cyngn.com/factory/baco...d-fastboot.zip

adb-fastboot.zip from

https://www.dropbox.com/s/aojzkqrjga...tboot.zip?dl=0

After downloading, unzip the archives.

Next, Windows drivers. If you're like me you've already tried different drivers, including Qualcomm USB drivers for 9006 and 9008. My best advice is to uninstall the drivers you tried. Go to Device Manager, right click on the bricked USB device (QHSUSB_BULK or Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008) and go to Properties, click on Driver, then select Uninstall. Check the box to remove driver files, if prompted. Then, go to the extracted Color.zip folder and find Driver.iso. Extract Driver.iso. Inside the extracted folder find Setup.exe. Run Setup.exe to install the drivers. The installer is Chinese, but all you need to do is click through.

Now, Extract the 44S image and copy all those files in extracted "color" folder replacing the old ones. Now follow remaining procedure, Your device will be good to go
Anyway, once you have the drivers straightened out, connect your phone to the computer, start it up by holding VolUp + Power to about 10 seconds, and let the computer do its thing. Don't install drivers if they are not installed by itself. Instead launch Msm8974DownloadTool.exe. It will scan all the COM ports and find the phone. That's the one line that looks different in the list. The list is just a list of your com devices. If you unplug the phone and move it to another port, or computer, it will show your bricked phone on a different line. There is no reason to click in or select at lines, the program knows where the phone is.

Clicking on "Enum" just rescans the busses. Clicking the big square button in upper right corner scans the phone and reports what's good and what's not. It takes a minute for the scan to finish.

If you don't see your devices, try unplugging/plugging in your phone a couple times, and rebooting it with VolUP + Power (hold 10 seconds). You will see it in Device Manager as well.

Anyway, once you see the phone in the list, click Start. You should see the programs starts writing different files to the phone. Each time it writes a file you'll see a progress bar. Once this is going you know you will be good to go... After all files are written, the line with your device will turn green. You're good, unplug and reboot your phone to Cyanogen Mod 11S. But the work is still not finished. You need to Flash fresh CyanogenMod by extracting that CM11s image again in separate folder with these commands. You also need to put adb-fb.zip extracted files in that extracted folder of stock ROM .

Here are commands for flashing the stock ROM :

fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash sbl1 sbl1.mbn
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash dbi sdi.mbn
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash aboot emmc_appsboot.mbn
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash rpm rpm.mbn
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash tz tz.mbn
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash LOGO logo.bin
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash oppostanvbk static_nvbk.bin (this partition seems to have appeared in the 44S build)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash system system.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash userdata userdata_64G.img (or userdata.img if you have the 16GB version)
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot flash cache cache.img
fastboot reboot

You will be good to go after that. Hope Any Other person don't gets in a situation like i was ! Happy to help you all, because you guys helped me to get my device back by telling me the way, so i made this post for beginners or all of those who don't want to lose their OPO

Don't forget to hit the thanks button ! :):)
