Enable Android Auto UI? topic

Hi @ all,

I now own an Pioneer AppRadio 4 (SPH-DA120) and use it along with the "AppRadio Unchained Reloaded" app and my HTC One M7 running Lollipop.
My phone is connected to the head unit via HDMI/MHL and touch input is send to the phone via bluetooth with the help of the "AR Unchained" app.
That combination works, but I am interested in getting the Android Auto UI to show up on my head unit, because I like that clean Home style without its NotificationBar and so on.

Is there any possibility to switch my phone to Auto mode, so it gets rendered on my mobile device and that way send to the head unit via mhl?

Enable init.d support on any rom [Stock] without any app topic

One thing that i like very much about android is init.d support which enable user to run script during the device boot up so by putting Boost script in the init.d folder which is present in /system/etc/init.d can significantly improve device performance.. :)

So without say much here is the method :
Requirement:
1 Rooted Phone obviously :p
2 File Explorer like Esfile Explorer with root access option enable
3 BusyBox Latest 1.22.1
4 A Good Luck :p

Process:
1 Open ESFiles Explorer and navigate to /system/etc and look for init.d folder if there is no folder name [init.d] then create one by click on +new button on ESFiles Explorer, or if init.d folder present than Goto step 2
2 Navigate to /system/etc folder and look for file name "install-recovery.sh" if present then Goto step 3
3 In /system/etc folder Create one file name "init.post_boot.sh"
4 Now open both "install-recovery.sh" & "init.post_boot.sh" one by one and write down following command at the beginning of the both file

Command:

#!system/bin/sh
run-parts /system/etc/init.d/*

{Above Lines are case sensitive}
5) Download the test.init.d.zip file from the below attachment link
6) put the 0test file in /system/etc/init.d folder and set permission rwx-rwx-rwx
7) Reboot device :fingers-crossed:

NOTE after Reboot open ESFiles Explorer and navigate to /data and there you will see Test.log file meaning init.d support working perfectly :D

[Q] Enable Encryption in EMUI 3? topic

Hi all,

I recently bought a P7 as my new smartphone. However, there is one thing missing. In the EMUI settings device encryption is not accesible, however this is a standard Android feature. I need this feature enabled because of enterprise policies otherwise I can't connect to our Exchange. Contact & agenda synchronization is necessary for me as my smartphone is a working device.

I tried updating to EMUI 3, but it's still not part of the ROM. It's a bit ridiculous Huawei isn't enabling this option within EMUI or doesn't even put encryption enabled by default.

Is their a workaround to enable this feature?

Sorry to post that here, but I really did not find a better thread... I will delete/move the thread afterwards if necessary.

I am trying to enable the debugging mode of my SK17i (mini pro 2) but my screen is broken. I can't remember by heart the steps to do that.
Could someone post the exact sequence to enable the debugging mode, using only the keyboard?

Then I will be able to launch adb and run DroidAtScreen to get back some data that I - of course - did not synchronise.... :rolleyes:

when I activate Wifi Portable Tethering and after that activate Mobile Data, my Wifi Portable Tethering starts to loop -> enable / disable. Alredy tried to delete "data/misc" and "data/misc/wlan" but no success. I'm on Android 4.4.2 verion.

Does anyone knows how to solve this problem (mobile is rooted :) )

On my S5 when I plug in headphones it will show me some recommended apps in the notification bar, sadly I couldn't find any options to enable it on my N4. I have had a few people asking about enabling AWS on the NJ4 baseband running KitKat 4.4.4. I found that the MF3 modem will no longer work with NJ4 builds. After some trial and error and referencing a few threads and getting some direction by a user Product F(RED) I found a method that works for my s4 I337 on the newer roms.
Try this at your own risk there is always the possibility that something could go wrong.

Install QPST Setup 2.7 build 323
Find the program RF NV Item Manager in the QPST folder and open it
Read the values on the phone under the File option(File-Read from phone)
look for line 1877 and change the number that reads 82314112 to now show 115868544
line 1877 should now read 115868544
THEN
Select FILE and then WRITE CHANGED NV ITEMS TO PHONE.
WAIT FOR A FEW SECONDS WHEN DONE
then install a app called terminal emulator onto the phone
Use terminal emulator to enter command
su
Then enter command
setprop persist.usb.eng 0
then reboot the phone.

Root access is needed to do this method as terminal emulator is used. This is the method i used and it worked. I was pointed to this method by Product F(RED) and after some trial and error, I came up with a working method using some logical reasoning after reading the thread at "Unlock all bands of your Qualcomm device."

The following bands report as active when 115868544 is entered into the band preference tool I used.
[Bit_07] GSM DCS 1800 band
[Bit_08] GSM Extended GSM (E-GSM) band
[Bit_09] GSM Primary GSM (P-GSM) band
[Bit_19] GSM 850 band
[Bit_21] GSM PCS 1900 band
[Bit_22] WCDMA Band I - EUROPE JAPAN & CHINA IMT 2100 band
[Bit_23] WCDMA Band II - US PCS 1900 band
[Bit_25] WCDMA Band IV - US 1700 band
[Bit_26] WCDMA Band V - US 850 band

[Q] Enable floating apps topic

Hi I've run into a little problem, I just got my Honor 6, but there seems to be a setting blocking or restricting floating apps (Facebook chat heads, hover chat etc, viral player) from hovering outside of their respective apps. The apps seem to work, but they just don't hover outside of their respective apps e.g. outside of the Facebook messenger window.

Has anyone been able to solve this issue? Thanks.
