HDMI Support on Custom Roms topic

Hey Guys,

I once heard that on CM12 KKBL, there should be a working HDMI-Driver implemented, is that true?
I would love to connect my phone to my TV and i'm missing that feature on the JBBL Roms (seems to be due to proprietary drivers).
Is there any solution or does anyone know if a BL-Update might fix that problem for me?
Anyone experienced or experimented with the HDMI Port?

Greetings Esok

[Q] Does the international version Note 4 (N910f) support LTE in the US? topic

Hi everyone,

I'm thinking of getting the international version of the Note 4 (N910f), I'm currently in Mexico studying but I'm planning to go back to the US when I finish. I would like to know if someone that has the international version of the Note 4 has LTE working in the US or if there is a workaround on how to make it work.

Thanks in advance!

[Q] Sub $100 tablet with Lollipop / Custom ROM support topic

I've been looking at cheap Chinese tablets, such as Chuwi VX8: http://www.geekbuying.com/item/CHUWI...te-329270.html

There seems to be a huge amount of affordable tablets out there with quad core cores such as MTK8127.

Unfortunately I can't find a tablet along these lines which has a Lollipop update available or even unofficial CM12 build.

Can someone point me in the direction of such a tablet?

[Q] MHL support for PA 4.6 beta 5 topic

Hi,

I've read some old topics whereas it seems Paranoid Android doesn't support MHL.

Just wanted to make sure if the latest version (PA 4.6 beta 5) I have installed on my S3 i9300 does support it or not.

And if not, will MHL work if I go back to stock? (I've connected the mobile to the TV with an MHL adapter, but there was no signal).

Thanks!

Enable init.d support on any rom [Stock] without any app topic

One thing that i like very much about android is init.d support which enable user to run script during the device boot up so by putting Boost script in the init.d folder which is present in /system/etc/init.d can significantly improve device performance.. :)

So without say much here is the method :
Requirement:
1 Rooted Phone obviously :p
2 File Explorer like Esfile Explorer with root access option enable
3 BusyBox Latest 1.22.1
4 A Good Luck :p

Process:
1 Open ESFiles Explorer and navigate to /system/etc and look for init.d folder if there is no folder name [init.d] then create one by click on +new button on ESFiles Explorer, or if init.d folder present than Goto step 2
2 Navigate to /system/etc folder and look for file name "install-recovery.sh" if present then Goto step 3
3 In /system/etc folder Create one file name "init.post_boot.sh"
4 Now open both "install-recovery.sh" & "init.post_boot.sh" one by one and write down following command at the beginning of the both file

Command:

#!system/bin/sh
run-parts /system/etc/init.d/*

{Above Lines are case sensitive}
5) Download the test.init.d.zip file from the below attachment link
6) put the 0test file in /system/etc/init.d folder and set permission rwx-rwx-rwx
7) Reboot device :fingers-crossed:

NOTE after Reboot open ESFiles Explorer and navigate to /data and there you will see Test.log file meaning init.d support working perfectly :D

Screen Shot ESFile Explorer

HIT Thanks if you like the post :)

[Q] Why the Z2 has low support from developers on XDA topic

Hey people

i have Z2 since 2 month and i have a question.

Why the Z2 has low support from developers in XDA? I mean, for example, if we compared HTC One M8 development section to the Z2 development section, i believe M8 has maybe 5 times more support than Z2!.
same for S5 - G3 ,etc

The Z2 is considered one of the most powerful android smartphones and on the top of android devices, released from long time, has a twin which is "Z3", that should increase the Z2,Z3 wining points and it's cheap!

I Can't find a reason for that. it makes me worry about my phone if Sony stopped releasing updates to it

Thanks

[Q] ROM with /dev/uinput support for N900A AT&T Note 3 topic

I'm looking for a Note 3 ROM that has /dev/uinput support so I can run apps like USB/BT Joystick Center. I want to be able to use my Xbox One Controller to play games and fly drones and use the Xbox controller instead of the touch screen.

I've done all the troubleshooting that normally work for other people, but according to the Apps group posts:

hxxps://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/pokes-android-apps/sME_vV9pPcE

Samsung has done something that has broken the /dev/uinput that is expected with other android manufacturer builds. I've tried AllianceROM, etc but since they are built off of the stock Note 3 firmware, they would have to fix this issue specifically like other roms have done in order to make this work. According to the above group post, non-at&t roms like 'Clean Rom' & FlexCat work, but unfortunately they do not have N900A revisions =/

Does anyone know of a ROM that does at least have a good possibility of working? I don't mind flashing a few, I just dont' want to blindly flash everything =/ Any help would be much appreciated.

yu yureka support [KERENEL] THE GREEN MACHINE topic

Please, don't be intimidated by any techy lingo, the second paragraph will have a quick rundown for non devs!

Hey all! @YoshiShaPow and I need a little help selecting the toolchain to use for official releases! Currently, we are using a GNUEABI Linaro toolchain optimized for Cortex A15 processors. But, as shown in a recent test (similar to this one) conducted by Chet Kener (@Cl3Kener), GNUEABI toolchains have worse performance and battery life in comparison to their ARM-EABI counterparts. The tree toolchains that I have compiled are Linaro, and (what I refer to as LinaroMod and SaberNaro) 2 hybrid SM and Linaro toolchains.

What does this mean for you?
I have compiled three toolchains to use for the kernel. We need you to help test the kernels to find what is best for the official releases of the kernel. Below are the requirements for the test (Copied from Chet's toolchain war)

1. You must flash both kernels on the SAME ROM and should spend at least a day on each
(but 2 or 3 days would be best if you can, this is not a quick fight this is all out toolchain war!)

2. You must keep track of battery life as best as possible.
Take screenshots of you SOT, Stand by, voice calls, other apps you think are significant. I will be posting a short questionnaire/survey where I expect you to have some details on battery life. I don't need to see all of your screenshots but you are welcome to post them all here in this community for us to all see.

3. Try and to keep track of performance the best you can
Obviously I don't want you to shy away from benchmarks. By all means run as many of them as you like. I also understand that benchmarks don't always give the whole picture on performance so I'm also looking for you to describe any differences you see between these three kernels. Comparison and contrast are the preferred method. (ie. This one opens camera app faster than that one. This one has smoother scrolling than that one. This one has a more fluid UI than that one. etc.)

4. Look for anything else that is measurable that you can test
Test boot times, test app opening times on large apps like Facebook. Look for operations that cause lag on the kernel and try to reproduce the lag doing the same thing on the other etc.

5 Most importantly have fun and keep track of your observations!
If this isn't going to help make your week more enjoyable don't participate. I'm not trying to ruin your week.

Porting a kernel isnt like porting a rom, it doesnt work that way. If you can get more people to request it though, Ill make a green machine version for it.

[Q] any kitkat rom that support LED Music Xperia SP? topic

I have been using custom rims but finally back to Sony rom, simply because I love the LED music.

Is there any kitkat rom that support LED Music feature?

Note:
- what I meant by music LED is the blinking LED following music beat . Not the notification LED. Notification led already working fine on kitkat rom.

Thanks

This is how Microsoft Support is. topic

I just wanted yo to know how bad the Microsoft support is. It's totally unacceptable.

Here is all my case summarized:

Quote:

JAN - 5: My Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has a factory defect. 2 white spots on the screen, they are quite annoying. It is not my fault, I saw several surfaces with light leakage over the Internets.
I Contact Microsoft and they are REALLY kind, they don't put any objection, and they tell me to send my surface and they will send me a replacement. Awesome.

JAN - 6: I send my Surface to Microsoft. UPS takes it, no problem, they make me a package and help me with everything (Actually Mail Boxes Etc. does). Very good.

JAN - 9: Microsoft Germany tells me that they are sending my replacement. It's a bit on timing limits regarding what they told me, but I understand, it's ok. I get my UPS ship number, but I don't check since I just trust them.

JAN - 13: I receive my package. It's EMPTY. Nothing inside. The security red belt is cut, which looks like someone stole it. I really don't mind, It's not my fault, and my provider, Microsoft, should solve this. If it's UPS fault is not my problem, I didn't choose them, I didn't pay them.
After contacting Microsoft they see I'm angry, and They try to flatter me saying that now I'm high priority and more stuff I believe is stupid since it's not true.
Actually they sent me a mail which is a template as a personal mail, and they forget to fill some <enter issue here>. REALLY HORRIBLE.
But well, now I have to wait for 8-15 days to clear the investigation. That is really wrong.
Dear Microsoft, if you lost my Surface, send me one RIGHT AWAY and then solve the case, I don't give a **** about your really bad logistics.
But OK, I accept. And then I wait, and wait, and wait.
UPS calls me and make me clear and quick that they will try to solve this as soon as possible. I think UPS is doing the right thing.

JAN - 16: Surface Care Team send me a mail. They don't know anything yet. OK. I don't care.

JAN - 20: Seven days later, they decide to send me another device. They "received" the trace results, but they don't inform what happened. I reply right away asking some questions. They don't answer any of them, they don't want to tell me what happened. Nice caring team.
They tell me I will receive my Surface within 2-3 days over night priority. Good. It looks it's ending happily. At least I'll have a new Surface wink emoticon

JAN - 25: I keep looking at the shipping trace on UPS. They only say "A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated." So after a week, they didn't even receive the package. What the **** are you doing, Microsoft? are you kidding me?

JAN - 26: I call Microsoft. This is not admissible. They play the same game again. "You are a priority now, we understand this is not acceptable". I DON'T GIVE A ****. I miss my Surface, I use it a lot, and I don't have it for already 21 days. I think that's too much time for something that is not even my fault from the beginning.
Now the cycle started again. They ask for my patience. They say my package will arrive in 2-3 days (again). Meanwhile, the UPS trace system keeps saying that they don't have the package.
I think this is unbelievable.
This is horrible, I spent the last 4 or 5 months saying that Surface pro 3 is the best device you can buy in your life including phones, computers and whatever. I was really excited about Windows 10, I was thinking about moving to Windows mobile phones in a year or 2. I even thought about buying an Xbox One (And the people that know me think that's a really huge change for me) because I think Microsoft is doing really good with the system integration and unification. But if the support service is like this, I cannot accept it, I cannot embrace the new Windows philosophy, I just cannot do it. And it makes me REALLY sad.

This is my last chat I had with them, today, JAN 30: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...it?usp=sharing

I just wanted to let you guys know about how amazingly horrible the support is.

Triangle away support for SM-N910H? topic

Does the triangle away app by chainfire support the Note4 SM-N910H?
I needed the app on my note2 which worked perfectly, the allshare dongle by Samsung wont connect on a rooted phone.
And i want to be able to use mine with my note4, might not root my note4 if this doesn't work!

Backporting MDSS doze mode for full ambient display support topic

Hi!

Our hammerhead currently lacks full support for ambient display in Android L. One+1 has the kernel changes we need already merged(https://github.com/CyanogenMod/andro...517ed494760b5f). I checked this patch before - it's not a match to our source, it needs some more merges in video drivers. I was just wondering if anyone on XDA tried to get this working and wanted to share progress and experiences with doze mode on 3.4 msm kernel?

So when I was updating my cm repos I came across a line of code that mentons wear support so I searched there github and nothing. Nothing so I took some screen shots and put them in this: https://drive.google.com/folderview?...Fk&usp=sharing folder and I circled the code in blue.

Later on I went in terminal and tried to build a rom (for wear) and it did't come up but oddly it did download "additional files". So is cyangen test wear support? or what
