Is there an app that could create a double function for the power button on the side of the xperia z? So if I pushed the button twice for example the camera app would pop up?

[Q] How to stop dim before power off? topic
Anyone know if it is possible to stop the screen dimming just before it powers off? after a few recent ROM flashes it flickers when dim.
Note: this is nothing to do with auto brightness / screen timeout / Airview / Hardware fault or any settings that I can find.
I appears to be a system default that cannot be changed.
I am hoping that something in Build.prop or whatever can be altered, to either remove the dim completely or have the dim not go as low.

[Q] Note 10.1 Won't power off topic
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. I can't figure why my tablet won't power off. Everything seems to run fine.
When I press the power button, then press (select) power off the tablet goes thru the motions of shutting off.
It actually shuts off for a second, screen goes black and off. Then it restarts. I get the logo etc. Then back fully on.
I would like to turn it off other than just go in eventual sleep mode. This tablet was never modified in any way. It has a stock ROM never been rooted. I also looked at the running apps and everything seems normal. Any idea would be welcomed other than Hard reboot.
Thanks for the help. :)

Review of Intocircuit® Power Castle 12000mAh Portable Dual-Port External Battery Pack topic
This is an amazing battery with a great build quality and performance that is just out of the park!
In the box, you get the battery itself, a micro USB cable, a really nice carrying pouch, a HISCARD warranty card, and an instruction manual.
First Impressions: This is so nice! It feels so smooth and premium in your hands. The orange parts of the battery finish it off very nicely. Pressing the button to illuminate the battery percentage blew me away. It is a really bright blue LED indicator that grows on you immediately. Using it was a breeze. I simply used the supplied cable and plugged it into the battery. I then plugged that into my phone, and it was charging. I didnt even have to press the button, it detected that the device was connected automatically.
After using this for a while, I can safely say that this is downright a great battery! It does exactly as it promises and this is a product you have to have in this day and age if you dont already. I was able to charge up my Samsung Galaxy S3 in no time with the 2.1A port. If you ever find yourself with no place to plug in your phone and/or if your phone dies, this will be your savior. This battery is just that good, I dont know what else to say. Intocircuit got the design, build, performance, and feeling just right! Its a perfect battery, and I havent experienced any conflicts with it.
I would recommend this to anybody who is in the market for a well-priced battery that has a great build quality, feels good, and works well.
Overall, this is a great product and I highly recommend it. One of my favorite things about this battery isnt just the metal build, but also the carrying pouch. It is a great accessory that makes this product perfect!
I was provided a unit for testing purposes and I promised to provide a completely honest and fair review.
Unfortunately, I cannot post the link to this product on Amazon because posting commercial links is forbidden, but you can find it on Amazon by searching for the product's name that is in the title of this thread. Thanks!

Rezound won't power on or adb after Tachyon power-down topic
Hi everyone. I'll try to make a long story short while being thorough. Any help is much appreciated in advance.
TLDR Version: after messing around trying to get a working ROM and finally getting Tachyon 4.3.1 to load (without the SIM Card in), I powered down and the Rezound no longer powers on in any mode nor is it registered by adb. LED lights up while plugged in, that's it.
Complete version:
I spent a few days reading up on rooting & ROMing - but apparently not long enough - then spent an arduous night attempting to get a working ROM on my Rezound. I initially used AmonRa to get RezROM EX 3.4 to load up, but was stymied by constant "com.android.phone has stopped working" messages. After attempting several fixes, I formatted all back to Ext 3, and wiped the phone to factory settings (I know, I know...) in an attempt to start fresh. After that sloppy attempt, the phone wouldn't get past the initial white HTC screen, so I did the following using less than stellar judgment: I removed the Verizon SIM Card, rebooted, and installed Tachyon 4.3.1 (linked at bottom) in AmonRa recovery. Miraculously, I thought, the phone loaded up Tachyon and after one "com.android.phone has stopped working" message, I was able to use the phone, albeit with no network connection. I thought all I had to do was power down, put in the SIM Card, and maybe things would be alright.
Instead, what happened was this: I powered down, took out the battery (which had some charge) and put the SIM Card in. When I pressed the power button back on, the phone did not turn on. Unplugged, not even the LED would light up. I plugged it into my PC, at which point the LED does turn on, but pressing power only causes the buttons on the bottom portion of the phone to light up for a few seconds. That's it. The screen does not do anything. Holding Volume Down + Power does the same thing; it does not vibrate or boot to Recovery. Lastly, adb no longer registers the phone's presence (error: device not found). I plug it in the USB, hear the chime, but commands like adb list, adb reboot, etc. do nothing. The phone appears as an external drive in Explorer, but it cannot be opened. I've now tried two batteries and let the phone charge for a few hours. Still no results.
If I've bricked the phone, I understand. I fortunately have another Rezound I can fall back on. I understand the risk of taking the unresponsive phone to the Verizon store, so I'm asking for help/suggestions here. Thanks!

Power button stuck ( bootloops on AOSP) topic
My S3 apparently has a power button that is sticking sometimes.
my question is i have my brothers old S3 with a cracked screen in my "junk drawer" i was wondering if i can swap out the entire circuit board that the button is on into my phone? or will that screw up my IMEI and phone number. it seems an easier solution than soldering in a new button.
any insight is greatly appreciate.
thanks

[Q] Kindle fire 7 (4th Gen) BootLoop / power button issue topic
Hi, I could use any help or advice you guys might have to offer, the problem (at first) seemed to be just a bootloop - I am able to get the device to boot by connecting the device to the computer then disconnecting and reconnecting the kindle battery ( usually works 1 in 7 times ) .. I have tried a factory reset through the device menu which completes without issues but once the power button is pressed (tapped or held) the device freezes and then starts the bootloop again. I have been able to use adb to get the device into the recovery menu but trying to recover this way starts the boot loop again, possibly because the power button has to be pressed to confirm the option.
edit: forgot to mention that when the power button is tapped it asks if I want to power off - it doesn't just turn the screen off (I'm not sure if this is normal or not)
I'm unsure what to do at this stage, so any advice would be gratefully welcome.
helpful info:
kindle fire hd 7 (4th gen)
fire os: 4.5.2

[Q] Nexus Player power supply topic
Hello,
Can onyone that owns a Nexus player tell me if the power supply has multi voltage e.g. will it accept 220V next to 110V as well? Just ordered a US version that comes with US plug and probably 110V of input power. The plug is not an issue, there are adapters for that, but the voltage could be more of an issue.
Thanks,
Mark

Power Question.... AC and Onboard. topic
Long story, but had all my wiring done for the eMMC mod, plugged it all in - and my dog ran over the cables and I thought it was all good, but after that I couldn't get the eMMC to read - decided to make sure it was still good and shorted the resistor pads - but it wont power up now. I know the pad it good, but heres my question -
I'm worried something shorted with my dog incident - The wall Adapter is 16Watts, but when I meter mine its 6v - Is that common??
Next question, is there a good spot on the board to see if I am getting good power?
Thanks....

[Q] power saver in kitkat VS lollipop topic
Hi guys
I received Lollipop yesterday via OTA and power saving mode is disappointing me. In kitkat I used to put my phone always in power saving mode and it resulted in great battery life. The point was that though my M8 was in power saving mode, it could received messageg from viber, whatsapp while screen was off
Now in lollipop when I put my m8 in power saving mode, it can not receive messages (viber,whatsapp,...) and every body thinks I am offline.
It is really disappointing. I want power saving to be like kitkat times. any suggestion?
I want to hear from you guys

[Q] Power button is not locking/turning off screen but works to bring up power menu. topic
So this morning I picked up my Note 4, used it normally to check emails, etc, went to turn off/lock screen and it wouldn't respond at all. I held down the power button and then it brings up the power menu, I restarted a few times and still nothing. Is my power button defective or could some setting have automatically changed the settings?

[Q] Note 2 power key failure - Keeps booting black screen topic
My Note 2 keeps showing the black screen (like when you first turn on the phone), it acts like i am holding the power key. The second i insert the battery it starts doing it. I think water may have damaged whatever that is behind the power key. Can it be fixed? :(
T211 won't power on topic
Last weekend I plugged in my daughters tab 3 and let it charge and forgot about it. Last night she wanted to play on it so I took it off the charger and tried to power it on, but with no luck. I then realized the charging cable I used was faulty. The battery seems to be in good shape BC when I put the voltmeter to it, it read 3.71 volts. But I'm not sure if its charged or not. I've tried different cables and outlets with no luck on charging or powering on. I've also tried various time increments with holding the power button and or button combinations. Is there anything I can do to get it to power on? Or charge the battery without using the USB port on the tablet, I've had problems with it before and had to replace it. My daughter loves playing on it and would like to get it fixed as soon as possible.
Thanks!
Thanks!
